I'm 50 years old and this is my all time favorite song, relaxing after hard work, makes me feel free, no worries, life lover, patience , a loving huge to Mom and Dad, best wishes to my family, friends, enemies......................
Summer 1981 indeed.... At our adolescence, 15 years of age... First love, first dance cheek to cheek, first hug, first kiss... Many memories from an ingenuous, shining time that passed away so quickly.Thank you Alan!! Your great music, among other's in those fervid years, accompanied all our significant moments.... Still in our mind....Still in our heart!!!
Yes this song is gorgeous, never got much airplay but this album in it's day was the bomb. Sadly this phenomenal period piece covers the loss of what it means to be a dead end gambler. Nobody but nobody want's to believe they can't beat the system...guess what friends you cannot beat the system, only God let's you move beyond this dimension!
Appreciate the classics and embrace the new or be forever doomed to live in the past!

I heard this on the muzak at Denny's and cried on my french fries about four years ago. So much time had flowed and somehow I had become old.

Brings back memories of my late brother. Such beautiful words and music (wipes tears from eyes). Simply some of the best music ever made.

Such a steller piece for sure. In fact...this whole album was. It told quite a story of a lonely gambler who lost everything.
