  • I grew up in Bandon also. I have been in the USA for nearly 20 years now. It makes me sad to see the streets submerged. Even with the gray muddy waters, the town looks beautiful! The blue skies and some smiling faces show the true spirit of Bandonians. 4 Hill View

  • i grew up in bandon in the 70's and where super valu and lidl are were called the bogs i think that says it all.

  • our piss poor gvernemnt wouldnt even plan for anything like this, it's basically, "ah, sure it cant be that bad, we will deal with it, rather than spend our corrupt money".... parts of ireland are looking like the aftermath of hurricane katrina now...

  • TRUE....But why do they name hurricane's after a woman . . .

  • nah, thats a myth, it's pretty 50/50. hurricane david, mitch , floyd , john, all huge hurricanes....

saying that, whoever discovers the hurricane gets to name it, maybe some guy's just name them after their ex's and think, well, it cant be as destructive as she was lol...

  • I was in there on Thursday and you could see it was going to be bad. My father was there late Friday afternoon and he said the streets were clear by then but the Plunkett got some doing. Here's hoping no business closes down full time because of this.
