I work part time in a shop in Bridge Street..we got 6ft of water in the shop!!! Weeks on we have gotton nowhere near back to normal. Everything was destroyed! :(
I grew up in Bandon also. I have been in the USA for nearly 20 years now. It makes me sad to see the streets submerged. Even with the gray muddy waters, the town looks beautiful! The blue skies and some smiling faces show the true spirit of Bandonians. 4 Hill View
our piss poor gvernemnt wouldnt even plan for anything like this, it's basically, "ah, sure it cant be that bad, we will deal with it, rather than spend our corrupt money".... parts of ireland are looking like the aftermath of hurricane katrina now...
nah, thats a myth, it's pretty 50/50. hurricane david, mitch , floyd , john, all huge hurricanes....
saying that, whoever discovers the hurricane gets to name it, maybe some guy's just name them after their ex's and think, well, it cant be as destructive as she was lol...
It's shocking to think we live on an Island right beside an ocean yet out Goverment don't think they should invest in flood defences, I remember last year in Drumcondra the Army were out within the hour to clean up! Was it because it was on Berties door step!!!!!! Good work lad dum good pic,s for the History book . Up. Dublin! Haha
every small business is now fucked, recession, then this? what else can go wrong? i go across that footbridge everyday for my lunch,i skipped school that day lol
I was in there on Thursday and you could see it was going to be bad. My father was there late Friday afternoon and he said the streets were clear by then but the Plunkett got some doing. Here's hoping no business closes down full time because of this.
i go to skool in bandon grammar. from where i live it takes 20 mins. becoz of all the floods it took 2hrs 30mins just to get home ! this was at 2.40 when evry1 in the skool was told to go home!!
Yeah..the Flood was bad...Alot of business suffered badly..I would of been in the town the night before to get fotos...if I hadn't of drowned my car at Briny on the back road to Crossbarry..
