@oJKBo actually colour is how the rest of the English speaking world spells it. Only the U.S spells it like Color. Just like how they pronounce Z like zee while the rest of the world says Zed
VEry usefull!!! I Am A Spanish speaker and I need Idioms with souns. I'm studying the English teacher collage and I must present idioms with sound and I'm totally lost. Thanks!!!!
Very good but wouldn't this be confusing for non-English speakers?
Wouldn't it be easier to understand if you told them that these are sayings instead of idioms, and then give a direct meaning of each one?
For eg. 'I'm in the Red' refers to old fashioned account statements which would display your overdrawn or unpaid account in red ink. It is now used as way to say you owe money.
I can only speak for myself of course, but trying to decipher these confusing sentences would be demotivating for me.
i marked this as one of my favorites ! thank u so much for teaching and encouraging us to learn english more.. u are awesome! thank u so much sir! please do more : ) ur so kind!
Well, I really wud like to be the good egg by learning this litlle golden egg website and become the egghead mom. Surely as eggs is eggs and your lessons are great.
This is very interesting lecture....honestly, to memorize lots of English idioms or vocabulary is bit hard for me. ..I wonder everybody here to learn English, how do they do that?
@hiroshi19720310 Thanks for watching the video. I'm glad you found it interesting. To help you learn, I created EXTRAS for each video. These give you more information and self-test exercises that really will help you to learn English. The way to learn these idioms is not to try to memorise them but to use them.
@Linguaspectrum For me it's complicated 'cause I dont have noone to practice, I live where the English it's a foreign language, but I try to practice with myself. I hope someday travel to England,
This vid is priceless, I'm a native English speaker and I love you prepared this its actually quite captivating. The way things glide in and out is just odd. I never heard of a red letter day though we do sometimes circle important dates, but we but a circle in the whole box. At least that's more conventional in the states. Also I have never heard of browned off...pissed off yes, brown no. Green fingers=green thumb in the states
Thank you very much for these fantastic videos! I am studying to become an English teacher and I found this video to be so amazing and easy to understand because of this I will show it to others in my class! Thank you and your voice is so lovely and peaceful I enjoyed listening to this video and I've seen it 2 times already.
This rainbow of idioms was fantastic!! I love your creativity; I never get tired of your videos. I can hardly wait for the next one. (More idioms, please...)
Very good:)
