  • The "Venom" you said the Monitors possess is just saliva, Correct? Like the Komodo Dragon?

  • have you ever bin bit

  • COOL :D

  • i can't wait til march when the repticon show is. i will def. be there.

  • I think this is a cruel event. The animals there are touched by everybody and the cat for example is totally disturbed in my opninion.I think this is not ok.

  • Would you say those cornsnakes that were $5 each would be healthy? Or even everything there?

  • @DavCheat Most likely not eating

  • 14:40 that's actually a Babycurus Jacksoni, not a Parabuthus species although both from the same dangerously family Buthidae. But the sting is just mild unlike the actual Parabuthus which can do some harm if not treated correctly. It's kinda disappointing to me that i live in SC and i go to these expos in Columbia and people like this can give the wrong info to beginning hobbyist and they go home with something that's more deadly then they think :(.

  • aww, poor little fella got his tongue stepped on...

  • Epic words of wisdom at 1:32! Go Viperkeeper from AZ!

  • i would buy two calendars for the sake of the snakeys :D

  • I wonder what the guy with the trap door spider was thinking when viperkeeper said "my wife would never let me keep spiders, even though she lets me keep venomous snakes..." He was probably thinking 'wait-what?!'

  • Great video!!!

  • hey viper keeper i was hoping you would know why my bearded dragon (female) is always laying around and she sleeps all day and doesnt eat it is starting to worry me because i do not want her to die of starvation.

  • @demonmeth70 It's winter and she is dormant. My wifes Dragon is doing the same thing.

  • @viperkeeper thanks me and my mom thought she was sick or something

  • @demonmeth70 she could be hybernating like he already said but if you have sand in with her she could be sand bound if thats the case you should put her in warm water and masage her belly from front to back.if she dosnt go to the bathroom i would take her to the vet.

  • @demonmeth70 Yah i was told my bearded dragon was going dormant and she died the next night :( she was 7 though...

  • I went to the show in 2010 it was my first time and one of the most amazing experiences ever. I would love to go again soon but sady I no longer live in sc. Hope to maybe see you at one of the northern expo's

  • did you purchase anything while you were in my hometown of columbia and if you did may i ask wat it was

  • @tator619 No

  • is that a big show

  • Looks like you had a excellent time. I wish i could have gone to see those animals.

  • @WarTime95 No, they would not be allowed to sell them there... Besides, I'd personally shove my foot up their ass.

  • Hahahha he stepped on the monitors tongue! That cracked me up!

  • i want a poison dart frog are they good for begginers

  • @r2d2live I have no clue...go to a Dart Frog forum.

  • @viperkeeper no they are for more advanced

  • @r2d2live go to kingsnakedotcom classified they have a dart frog section

  • i wouldnt keep venoumus reptiles, its common sense cause say you get bit, where are we now

  • R the other invading species illegal immagrants

  • @viperkeeper is this a good show? Im going to the first ever Reno show tomorrow August 27. Just found it out tonight the 26 on TV lol. It sounds cool but I wont be buying sadly :( I probably dont have enough money to buy anything and my mom would throw me out of the house, than my dad for letting me buy one haha.

  • Baby corn snakes are super cute!

  • what r those mammals at the first clip

  • You're friends with David Weathers? Awesome.

  • the baby rodents and the texas rat snake are adroable.

  • so were those baby corns king snake food

  • @NSKizations first of all it was a savanaha monitor (bosc) and second of all theres no such thing as camodo its komodo.

  • @imnodoubtflatout Black throat monitor actually

  • surely keeping a snake squashed into a container that small like at 7:05 is pretty cruel.....

  • @MrElliotGear No really. Most snakes found in the wild are squished under or between things, they feel most safe secure in tight spaces.

  • @viperkeeper plus its an expo! ur not gonna bring huge tanks 4 ur animals... that guy is a retard

  • @MrElliotGear someone buys it then they put it in a bigger tank there not in there that long

  • "Im thinking about going to a reptile show but i am confused of how much money I need. I know it's more expensive than a pet shop, but the quality of the animal is better. I want to buy 2 normal ball pythons and a cornsake. How much $ do I need? Also what cage size is best for ball pythons? Maybe to last their whole life. DSiffernt people say different things, and I want to know from someone who has gone. Thanks so Much!!!!"

  • @chicagocubs2124 I know shit about Ball Pythons...find another website who can help you. I only do Venomous.

  • @chicagocubs2124 a normal ball python is anywhere from 80$ to $150. don't get your hopes up to get one below 100 because that rarely happens. you should get from a 50 to 75 gallon tank and yes i have experience with ball pythons. for 2 ball pythons and a corn snake i would bring about 500 plus the setup i would bring about $800.

  • hey viperkeeper doesnt South Carolina have laws that restrict owning speices of snake that are native to that land? i know there are no laws against keeping venmous snakes that dont reside in south carolina outside of captivity. but i saw copperheads in this video thats why i ask. great video by the way.

  • @kd35WINasONE No Idea

  • Did you buy the Nutria?

  • @mewecody123 No

  • i was bitten by a western hognose snake where i work and my finger and knuckles had the same effect along with throbbing pain for about 24 hours

  • @bonesaw08 dude i have 2 of those guys they have never bitten me tho

  • @bonesaw08 hog nose are not venomus... BUT more people have allergies to thier saliva (spelling?) then honey bees

  • @tblairsr Hognose certainly are venomous, has nothing to do with allergies.

  • @viperkeeper Hognose snakes (Heterodon) are rear-fanged and technically not venomous, but the saliva they excrete is considered toxic to prey

  • @tblairsr You are completely wrong. I'm not wasting my time with a 24 yr old who of course knows it all.

  • @viperkeeper lol 25 and look it up... thats what i did when u said i was wrong which is compleetly possible.. and there is no reason for u to be an ass to half the ppl that love ur videos and leave a comment... i may be "24 and know everything" but that includes how to respect ppl

  • @tblairsr Hognose snakes have been scientifically proven to have rear-fangs, venom ducts and venom glands. It has nothing to do with saliva.. Under the right conditions, Heterodon species could actually kill you, however, this is extremely rare and as of yet, has not happened, but, that doesn't mean it is impossible.

  • Yes, yes humans are all invasive. Filthy humans.

  • @Silverws69 u r a human!

  • king cobra food =O

  • Oh wow! i thought the Savannah monitor was a Komodo for a second, that thing is huge!

  • did you buy the $60 dollar rattlesnake?!?! lol

  • @XDAVIDX99 Nutrias

  • @viperkeeper Are they the same as Capybaras? or are they different?

  • I want i bubble eye rat snake so bad.

  • @LeemaK its a genetic defect in the texas rat snakes from over inbreeding to create more and more leucistic specimen's for the pet trade, they are more common than the "normal" phase, i worked at a pet shop and activly bred the morph, a co-worker and myself went through 400 neonates of that snake and found all of the bubble eyed ones were male, could have been a breakthrough or just random occurance at the shop we worked at

  • when does the 2011 come out

  • hey do you live in south carolinia cus thats were im from

  • @reptileandfishboi123 No where is much colder.

  • hey if i were to get a venomus snake what do you think would be the best choice for a first time with venimous snakes

  • @dangreenzooman Wrong! Varanids are absolutely venomous! Bryan G. Fry proved it in his land mark research paper published in the journal "Nature"

  • @viperkeeper The Venom isent toxic though right.Other than Komodo venom most of there venoms are just like a blood thinning coagulant type toxin or am I wrong

  • @viperkeeper sorry gotta disagree with you there. the croc monitor and the komodo are the only two you have to worry about.

  • 3:44 "I don't want that visual now stop." BITCH! Viperkeeper says what he wants, when he wants.

  • 12:20, Lasiodora Parahybana?

  • I cant wait till this weekend I will definately be at the snake show this year and Im super EXCITED!!! This will be my first reptile show.

  • did he jxzt say more corn snakes then u can shake a stick

  • monitors arent venamous there saliva is toxic which is very mild

  • @thejamielad Varanids are absolutely venomous! Bryan G. Fry proved it in his land mark research paper published in the journal "Nature"

  • it was good to see you at this show.it was nice talking to you.i like your videos thay are very informant.are you going to the november show?we will be vending there again

  • This might be a stupid question... but I take my ball python places since she seems happy about it and I was wondering if I'd be allowed to bring her along with me if I just go to the expo to look around, and Im not really a part of anything??? I dont see why not but I thought I'd ask.

  • @Giusep00 This is an OK question. She probally is bored and likes the stimulation. The downside to taking her to a reptile expo is you expose her to all sorts of paracites and viruses. Other than that it's perfectly okay to bring her.

  • I thought nutrias are native to florida?

  • @TheUTubeRebel South America

  • Was those Ciaman for sale there

  • @Mega123ASDFGHJKL They were for sale

  • do these come to massachusetts?

  • @TheSiberianhusky1 I have no idea

  • @TheSiberianhusky1 I do not think that Repticon does but I am sure there are other reptile shows in your area. They probably will not be quite as large or have venomous but you will still be able to find some interesting animals and local breeders. Check local herpetological societies, Kingsnake. com, or Reptiles USA magazine for information on shows in your area.

  • ha ha i have a bengal cat, when the kitten popped on the screen he ran and jumped infront of the screen and started meowing back

  • expo

  • I like how you talk to all the animals sometimes i get carried away a do the same thing cool video

  • nooooo, not spiders! *shrugs*

  • did you buy anything at this expo? and what was your first venomous snake you ever kept?

  • @tropicalkeeper19 No, Copperhead

  • cool vid

  • how much were the poison dart frogs?

  • @jackapples3 No idea

  • great video :)

  • i cldnt stop laighing when that guy stepped on his tongue XD

  • ha ha ha damn border hoppers

  • Oh that's right venomous snake are illegal in NH. I can't get any snakes anyway my mom is anti-snake for reasons unknown.

  • Do you ever come up to the New England expos? There's one April 11. I Subbed also.

  • @NovAnthony I only attend expo's where venomous snakes are allowed.

  • @viperkeeper are you going to be at the hamburg PA reptile expo because I heard they allow venomous snakes.

  • @yoking456 Most likely.

  • By any chance will you be at Repticon South Caronina next weekend? March 13th and 14th.

  • No, I will be field herping somewhere else.

  • 5:35 that's the guy that got bit by a cobra in the stomach i saw it on animal planet

  • No kidding

  • the scorpion was known as a rusty thick tail also known as a babycurus Jacksoni which is a member of the Buthidae family which is in the same family as Parabuthus. Sp. You did an excellent job though not knowing much about scorpions.

  • Thanks

  • i was at there my friends sister got the the sugar glider in this video i got my first bearded dragon from here

  • what kind of snake was that at 4:56

  • I am very disappointed. I decided not to go to the show at the last minute. Would have been nice to look through your snakes and maybe find one that I liked. Hope you come back again.

  • Very cool show VK wish i could have gone have a good christmas.

  • Man to bad our hot snake show wasn't that big. I had a blast but not as big as I thought it was going to be.

  • Did the luci rat have glaucoma or something? lol

  • Don't know but inbreeding causes all sorts of bad genes to surface.

  • @viperkeeper This is also how "high dollar" morphs surface. lol.

  • @Lepisosteid Not many people have "dollars" for those "High Dollar" snakes.

  • hey viperkeeper i don't mean to bug you but do you think that you can do that vid of all you snake hooks soon, i would like to ask for a good one for christmas

  • yeah..working on it

  • Hey , we were there Viper Keeper. Nice video's and Snakes man! Just checkin out your Channel.

    -Atlanta Bearded Dragons

  • really cool video thank you for that. I´d love to see more from your american expos because I just know the european ones :F

  • those blue tongue lizard were absolutely gorgeous i would love to have one of those

    was there a price?

  • don't know

  • I really disliked that women in the begining. " I wan't to only hear what I deem acceptable, and have the right to quite anyone I please" is all I heard. What a self absorbed lady. Awesome video despite it!

  • She was a friend and was just joking...

  • they look alot like guinea pigs

  • Al have you had snakes which escaped and which you didnt found for days or at all ?

  • The Hose snkes which was out and about for months and a Eastern King snake which is still AWOL

  • hey viperkeeper nice vid but im curious you know how those feeder corns were 5 dollars well cant people buy them as pets and make it cheap too? then that wouldnt be too good or is the quality different

  • They were not exactly "feeder corns" just they were being sold very cheap, because the breeder just wants to get rid of them.

  • not very economical in my opinion but ok at least 10 dollars would be nice

  • Did you pick anything up at the expo Al?

  • Not for me but I did bring a few things back.

  • was it just me or did the boa at 17:00 look like it had bad nose rub/mouthrot? just looked a bit "off" to me

  • Yeah, some issue for sure.

  • that was funny a funny joke wow i found all the animals there gourgiouse

  • Funny Joke! that women's a hater! Mad Cool!

  • dose than mean Bosc monitor liard are venomers to

  • If its a reptile show why do the have bengal cats there? I think whoever brought them got their dates mixed up on the calendar.

  • People had puppies too...

  • 9:44 mmm...cobra food!

  • Do you need licenses to buy those snakes? that seems crazy in it's own way.

  • no...

  • Hmm In Australia you do, Thanks for the fast reply keep making good education vids.

    Cheers mate.

  • Al that little red scorp. was a rusty thick tail. Its a Babycurus jacksoni and isn't near as hot as a parabuthus.

  • Thanks

  • nice video al. I wish we had a hot show on the west coast!

however i dont know if i belive that varanids are venomous. I thought bryan said there were trace compounds of venom in many "non-venomous" herps. but his research is very interesting and I will definatley be following future studies of his. he is a very nice guy!

  • I saw the disection of a varanids lower jaw he did. Real venom glands & ducts.

  • 5:28, I cant believe you met him, he survived a monicoled cobra bite!!!

  • o yeah! i saw that on tv. he had like a softball size hole missing from his stomach from the tissue damage!

  • nice video, are you going to the white planes NY show november 29? and sorry to say i disagree when you said montor lizards are venomous, they dont have venom glands, the sweling you see is most likely from the vast ammounts of bacteria in the monitors mouth, just like a komodo dragon

  • WRONG... I sent you a link to prove it. I just don't make shit up as I go, I have evidence to back what I say is fact.

    Look up Bryan G. Fry

  • they do have venom glands

  • Sounds like you had fun Al!

And tjswimmer825 - Monitor Lizards ARE venomous - They have venom ducts and glands.....As scientifically proven by Dr. Fry and other Toxinologists.

It was believed that these animals had Bacteria for a long time untill proven otherwise....It's no use telling a Raceing driver how to drive a car.....So argueing with somebody who is experienced in keeoping Venomous reptiles surely is out of the question mate - I'm being honest :)

  • i wasnt trying to argue with him, plus this is how u learn new things. and sure this guy keeps snakes, but that dosnt mean he knows everything about every reptile.

  • Amazing,,,,,you have one of the BEST CAMERA I've seen,, beautiful footage ,, and great footage of the show,,,,,YOU ROCK ! AND pisssed I hate snakes,, and I watch your videos all the time go figure!

  • Thanks....

  • One of invasive species coming across the border.

Cool to see them for sale. Sucks when they get to big you know people will just let them go.

  • The way you talk to the animals makes this video 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 times better lol

  • Nice footage Al. Ya buy/or sell anything cool?

  • No...not from the show but I did have some goodies delivered.

  • is david that got bit by a cobra from animal planet

  • Yes

  • Yes - One very nasty bite it was too....

  • lol @ 3:05

  • omfg he stood on his tongue o.o

  • I quite enjoyed that video, I really liked it. 5 stars!

  • wow so people most buy stuff from you so they could be fans i love your videos but i don't need a calendar so would not make me a bad fan ?

  • Does Anybody Know When A Reptile Convention Will Be In Texas?

  • sry sry i miss behave!!!! lmao

  • that was one sexy copper head

  • "whoah you stepped on his tongue!" LOL

    You don't hear that everyday......

  • Buy a calendar so he keeps making them! The photos are nice enough to frame. Seriously folks support your friendly neighborhood Viperkeeper. I got mine and it's fantastic!

  • Hey Al, I've read a few articles lately dealing with the stiletto snake (Atractaspis microlepidota) and many say that there is no anti-venom for that certain genus, is that correct? Also, Why do you think that this snakes fang evolved so differently than all others snakes, that made it grow outwards to the side and curve? Just curious as to what your thoughts are on this paticular subject, if you care to expound upon the matter, i would be most grateful.

  • I was totally at this show, my first ever! Sadly, I didnt find you there tho, lol. Maybe next time. :)

  • Well that sucks

  • Well, the show itself was still alot of fun. So, not a total loss, I like to think. :)
