Good music is still being made, it just isn't mainstream. And the good news is that both screamo/emo and autotune ahave almost run their course, and once they have there'll be a pretty huge backlash (comparable to the whole 'Disco Sucks' thing..which happened around the same time Van Halen was getting big ;))

No type of music is huge forever, but bands like VH, GnR, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Nirvana, the Beatles etc. are still selling records b/c their music was innovative.
