@jcrwzr ... oooo ok.. bc i want my civic that stiff.. i pre loaded the spring really tight and i put it all the way stiff and it not as stiff as yours
I dont know about civics, but I made the mistake of installing ksports into a ff car and dropped a car so low that I ended up cutting into my CV boots. :-( I know civics love to run 16 and 17 inch wheels, so watch that drop! I for one hate changing cv boots...
I drove a Corolla btw. But yes, I'm glad you pointed this out. I slammed my corolla as low as it can go without any fender rub, and the bottom of the suspension tore up my cv boots.
@Rbb20vtec, I don't see it being a problem installing all four coilovers and allowing the front to sit higher than the rear. From what I've learned, that setup will allow you to turn at ease and have accelerated braking capabilities. If its vice versa, you will be able to corner at high speeds but you lose the accelerated braking properties. I wouldn't set up my suspension too hard for the street; it will just bounce you around leaving your tires in midair. Its your call. Get an alignment too!
ONCE UPON A TIME I HAD KSPORT ON MY CAMRY. IVE INSTALLED A FEW COILOVERS IN MY TIME ON DIFFERENT CARS (RPS13, FC3S, SCION TC). KSPORT'S SUSPENSION WAS TOO STIFF; EVEN ON A SOFT SETTING. THIS CAN BE UNSAFE FOR DAILY DRIVER AND NOT QUITE RIGHT FOR GRIP USE. FOR THE $900 PRICE TAG, I GUESS IT WAS WORTH IT. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR I SUPPOSE....
@ronnieron81 hey i just got k sport on my 97 civic and i pre loaded the spring like maybe 10 times and i have it on stiff and it not at stiff ass this car in the video.. and i droped it all the way and the frong it little above the tire.. am i doing anything rong?
@skylingking95 i got the kit from a corolla forum (which i don't think exists anymore) someone was doing a group buy, and if at least 20 people ordered we could get the set for $650 out the door.
lol. it does look like i'm humping the car, but i was pressing down on the car to show off the suspension's stiffness. check out my other video of me shaking the car of another corolla with stock springs.
" DDAAAMMM ... ! , Thank God your OK .... sorry about your loss .... know how it feels , been rear-ended by an old v8 van at a light while drizzling in the cold .... not fun ... catapulted into an old dodge pickup truck and worst of all , the cop said it was my fault , experienced tax dollars at hard work I guess ... lucky for me a weather video camera told a different story ... fortunately car is still 100% , and thanks to this video have new ideas , thank you and good luck out there , CIAO "
@blindsnyper i can't remember. but check the ksportusa website. at the time of that video i had whatever came in the box.
not too long after that video, i installed a 22mm rear whiteline anti sway bar. made the ride even more sensitive to bumps cracks, and whatever other nonsense was on the road.
whooaa, that suspension has got to leave u wit a soar rear, lol. but i bet it handles well. thats one of my favorite body styles corrolla and Im suprised more people arent hip to these quick cars...
they are nimble out the box, i had a 94 model 5speed. very peppy. i didnt have the budget to do any mods becuz i was modding the previa sc. but i think i will do a wagon if i can find one in good shape...
really?? i cnt remember if u had an auto but mine was pretty quick...but i like your s all the same bcuz not to many people mess with them....its refreshing and its not a Honda!!!
I have a similar K sport setup on my bmw and it feels great. Cornering is effortless. I find myself accelerating around corners when everyone else seems to be breaking. Awesome suspension, and the height adjustment is significantly noticeably up or down
nice set, im looking at a set of ksports for my st202 94 celica.. how low can these babies go?? i have tanabe springs right now on my celica and it only lowered my car 2inch front and 1.5 rear due to the fact that i dont have stock side skirts nor do i have a jdm front lip my car looks like its not droped at all, so now i wanna slam it!! daily scraper status maybe weekend autocrosser
HaHA...why dont you learn how to install that coilover correctly before you made yourself look like a fool online. You're camber plates are off like a muffo. Better yet, do you really need a $11000 coilover a damn corolla?!?!
i installed the camber plates wrong. they're supposed to be turned so that they're horizontal. but it's been fixed since the first comment about the incorrect install was posted over a year ago.
Hey, I have a 98 Corolla VE. The rear part of my frame always rubs against my tires when I go over a small bump. Would getting this KSport kit help prevent this? I have this problem with 14" snow tires and 17" rims with racing tires.
Well i hadnt turned mines to max ever since ive had them. i recently sent the fronts back to ksport to get them adjusted from the very bottom. there kinda late getting back, getting inpatient.
they've been turned to soft for the past 3 months. and for almost a year i've been using whiteline anti sway bars. the ride is still stiff and rocky... there are a few bumps and rough roads that annoy me, but i still love it..
Wow that suspension is TIGHT. It must feel horrible to drive (every little bump on the road going to the seat of your pants). I don't think I would go that low (my 98' Corolla has a 1.2" drop). This looks about 2.5" or more.
