I think this is a great game, and how simple it is. But of course it's not the greatest ever, I cannot play this game more than 30 min. But a nice way fo spend 30 min, although I rather ...
Although I don't agree with Stu's opinion, I think it is obvious that at the time the top 100 list of Spectrum games was compiled, the majority of the YS staff weren't hardcore, long-time Spectrum players so he was the only one with any authority on the matter. A stark contrast to when Crash made their top 100 list.
I remember buying the last copy of the your sinclair and was excited flicking through to see what number 1 was only to see it was this pile of wank...
I always thought Stoo Campbell made a balls-up putting this at number 1 - yeah, it's an alright game (the furthest I ever got was sector 8), but the best Speccy game ever? Ahead of masterpieces like JSWII and Head Over Heels (*still* my favourite game of all time)? Nah.
Well I wouldn't say I love it. I've played it a bit over the years, and found it ok but for me it lacks that little something to make it truly special - variation perhaps.
Funny you should mention Eddie Kidd though - I almost reviewed his game as well. That or Wheelie. Or both.
The best game ever? This machine also had the likes of Lemmings and Sim City on it.

Amazing game on release. Yes it's basic and simple but it's a challenge, and bare in mind there was a lot of REAL CRAP released back then.

I can't concentrate on the screen anymore. I think I used to be able to get to stage 7 but now my head explodes way before then.
