  • how can i upload wave to my wavestation ex thanks arthur albrighton

  • Very nice.

  • Wavestation - superior rompler , inferior synth

  • This made some waves in my pants.

  • Add a DnB beat and you have a late nineties' club hit.

  • sounds like starcraft 1 music... :]

  • it beeen verry long time since iever heard something dreaming and inspiring like that!!!! nice job ..or word nice is never enough to such gr8 job

  • @keyboardplayer09

    thanks a lot :)

  • this would be great with a roland 909 beat over it...

    some real detroit techno style...

  • KORG LEGACY AND KORG M1 = 100% THE SAME

  • KORG LEGACY AND KORG M1 + PC = NOT SO MUCH

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • Oh crap! I didn't mean to say "blatantly missing from the software." I should have said, "subtle differences that just aren't there in the software, that you can hear in the hardware version. Very sorry for the misrepresentation!

  • Sorry, I disagree - only slightly. I have a WS EX, with plenty of "memory cards" (the one's Korg sent out, as well as some 3rd parties). I can tell a distinct difference between the Legacy WS, and the original. I've read reviews about the Legacy that come to the same conclusion. They're NOT the same. It's subtle, but there are differences in the hardware, blatantly missing from the software. Our own ears discern this, but it's nothing to get upset about. Both platforms are amazing!

  • i have one :-) i can spend hours playing it ith no purpose other than enjoy myself. This is when you know a synth is good.

  • Tony Bank's favorite synth for quite a while.

  • whos tony banks

  • Keyboardist of the Genesis band

  • such a deep sound

  • I don't suppose you could tell me the component parts that make up this voice could you? It's dreamy.

  • this is a sound layer with Wavestation and Roland JD-800

  • @retrosound72

which is playing the low phasey chord and which the high strings?

    really nice sounds.

  • @retrosound72 Then for sanity purposes put JD-800 in the title and description you lunatic.

  • @BlackmoonUK minor 7th chords!!

  • hey those chords sound great and the synth is powerful

  • thank you :)

  • hey man..this is dope...can u just tell me the notes for the very first chord?

  • Sounds like C - D - D# - G. A very dissonant chord, but it sounds great on this synthesizer.

  • thank you kind sir..sweeet..now when i get back from vacation ima base a beat off that yaayy

  • @gudpeder

I think that chord sound good on anything.

  • is there any difference between the Wavestation and M1 from Korg Digital Collection (software) and the original ''hard'' synts???

  • There are...But contrary to what I had originally posted above, the differences are subtle. I remember when the M1 first came out. We used it exclusively on a soundtrack for a movie. Little did we know that it's sound would become predominate within the next few months, or so. When we were in the studio and recording, the engineer brought out this "brilliant new keyboard" called the M1. We had never heard it before and we went over-the-top with it. Now, it's embarrassing to listen back to.

  • Very nice, again.

Wavestation SR is very cheap now, since the Legacy Collection. The software implementation really is nice for the Wavestation. Brighter sounding than the hardware, but EQing can make them very similar, if desired. In this case, VST is probably easier to work with for most. Comes with a full complement of waveforms too. A successful emulation, I think.

Analogue emulation is something else, though, and software is always a different undertaking than hardware, of course.

  • The software Mini Lead sound is horrid. Nothing like the hardware one. I bought a WS EX just for this sound.

  • Hi, thanks for the tip. I wasn't aware of that.

    Cheers

  • Impossible, they are exactly the same samples.

  • Have you actually got both a real Wavestation and the legacy collection? Well I have, and they are different.

  • Actually yes, I have access to a wavestation (even though it's not mine) and you can even manually take the original roms and replace the ones in the legacy. They are 100% the same. Digital synthesizers, unlike analog ones, are very easy to reproduce exactly since they're just code and PCM samples.

  • Though they may have improved some of the effects algorithms, so if I remember correctly that lead had some distortion on it, and that might sound different, but it's just a matter of tweaking it. That's 50% of being a synth player, tweaking around. If you think about it, the wavestation really is a computer just as much as your PC (or MAC) just old.

  • But every other sound is exactly the same. Power up, select the voice and play - Hardware synth or legacy collection, they sound the same. All except Mini Lead. You don't have to tweak the others to get the sound right. In fact, no amount of tweaking gets the Legacy Mini Lead right anyway.

  • Love the sound! It reminds me of Tangerine Dream.

  • great ambience. i like the clouds too really sets the mood. is the Wavestation EX keyboard or SR rack version?

  • this is the SR rack module

    thanks

  • Wavestation Ex is one sexy, sexy piece of electronics.

    Thanks for sharing

  • I'm in love. Seriously. I gotta get me one of these.

I fully recommend listening to the stereo version people.

  • thanks a lot

  • The Wavestation is indestructible for that evolving digital sound. Used to have 2 of them lol, now have the Legacy software instead.

  • AWESOME!

  • thanks :)

  • Beautiful sound, it does not coming from the Earth... Wavestation is the best digital synth ever made.

  • In the first part of the video, some of the sounds sounded like the ones in Alan Parson's I Robot

  • can u post some more sounds please from rhis synth?

  • Awsome ! I loved the sound so much ive just won one on ebay for £120.00, i was prepared to pay twice that much money for one...cant wait till i receive it, i may even post some demos of it my self.

  • should ahve just got the Wavestation VSTi. Can download thousands and thousands of sounds to load into the softsynth. Korg Digital edition comes also with the M1 and the Wavestation. and I believe you can get both for about $150.00

  • Well, I have that but I'm seriously thinking of buying a real one. It would suit my setup, because I need to replace an old Yamaha keyboard.

  • Cool sounds - nice demo music !

  • thanks :)

  • Yeah, retro the wave station was my introduction to digital synthisis. I really hated the menu diving, but if you had patience you could really make some awesoe sounds with this machine. It's why I still own a triton and a wavestation. Plus Korg in the keyboard world is like Toyota in the auto world, they hold up for years and years.

    Thanks for the demo.

  • This is the SHIT! Lovely pad...The Wavestation is defiantly a synth you need to program to get the best out of imo something I always found hard on it. When I had one I didnt like it but then I heard other people use it and I was like WOW.

The Wavestation and the Prophecy/Z1 are imo Korgs best synths, not fussed on the MS-20 not my style of sound.

    Good stuff :-)

  • thanks :)

  • Holy crap, this is amazing.

  • thank you :)

  • Great track! Reminds me of something.. Don't know what

  • thanks :)

  • I have a WaveStation A/D rack in the studio and would never part with it - lovely, huge and evolving pads - very sad that it has no resonant filters - what the heck were Korg thinking of??

  • SUPER, 5 stars

  • thx :)

  • Sounds like something you'd hear from a Megaman video game.

  • this was so relaxing it made me fall aseep at my computer. lol

  • Nice channel. I'm a bass ans guitar player, starting with synths.

So i'm orientating on sounds. Youre films are very usefull for me.

    Keep posting.

    Regards from the Netherlands,

    Renger

  • thanks for your nice comment :)

  • Just found your channel and sent it to some friends, great find.

  • thanks :)

  • sounds great...seems like wavestation is an interesting machine (just like JD)

  • thanks :))

  • Mal wieder ein richtig guter entspannender Song! Das erinnert mich von der Art her an Tangerine Dream - Hyperborea

    Stay tuned, my friend ;)

  • Dankeschön :)

    Dir noch ein schönes Wochenende

  • Gosh incredibily relaxing.

  • yes

    thanks

  • another superb track! damn, i got the ws ex for a few months but still haven't learned very much, like the wave sequencing. your vids inspire me to study the machine more!

  • thank you :)

the WS is great but the complicated performance/patch structure is not easy to understand

  • Just how many keyboards and synthesizers do you have in your collection?

  • I don`t know ;-) Not many...

I buy, testing and sold gear.

  • fantastic is the Synthesizer im looking for!!! Very nice!!

  • thanks

  • oh yeah astral surfing

  • do u know what the difference is between wavestation SR and the wavestation EX??

..im thinking of buying the SR

    love the sounds...nice vid

  • the sound engine and the samples are 100% the same but the WS SR has not the realtime vector stick and the display is very small

  • ok...thanks for the info

  • Beautiful Sounds...

  • thanks :)

  • are software synths as good as the hardware stuff?

  • Sowas darfst du mich als überzeugten Hardware Freak nicht fragen... ;-)

  • A real Juno-60 sounds better any any plug in i have heard

  • absolutly :)

  • i dont speak much german but i guess you mean "obviously youre asking a hardware freak so whats the answer you expect.." =D

  • sorry

...but you understand that perfect :)
