Guy, I've been wanting this song on clawhammer for about a year. Your version's the perfect inspiration to get my rear in gear and give it a good, honest try!
I'm trying to learn this by watching you... man it's so good. Just curious, do you have any tabs for it, or a chord progression chart or something? I'm a bit of a beginner and having trouble figuring some of them out.
@xBallpark09 She (G) Walks through the corn (D) leading down (Aminor) to the river(C) Hair (D) shownlike gold in the hot(C) moring sun . like a Fox(C) Now (G) Everybody (C) knows(G) the Reason(D) for the fall (G) when a Woman(C) temped Man (G0 down in paridices(A) fold (D)
Yep they are mediums . The distance between the two melody fingers (index and middle ) and the thumb is the measurement you have to get used to with each string .. The thumb drives the rhythm forward . All the best , Guy
I havent looked at a tuner in weeks so the banjo may have moved sharper .. Ill go have a look with a tuner at this clip . Thanks for the heads up , Yours Guy
This was a bluegrass standard in the early 70's . This and Country Roads were a must in any bar band . We played country roads so often that I forgot the words from singing it every day for two years .. All the best , Guy
What a totally original arrangement. I love your musicianship. I especially liked the part where you substituted higher chord voicings for vocal parts.
Hey Les, Yes vamping on clawhammer isnt really an option as it is with Up Picking but there are ways of bringing things to a clean halt ! Thanks for noticing . Yours Guy
I remember Manfred Man . What an interesting thought of him playing this song . The text of this song is a bit of an uninformed viewpoint on the relationships between Men and Woman wouldn't you say !! Playing this one out I have had to talk a bit on the change in our thinking about relationships since this song was written !!!! Ah well . Always great to hear from you . Yours Guy
