The Ummayad Arabs invaded and they could never take Mount Lebanon, We helped the Crusaders but win the Mamelukes came they couldnt take out Mount Lebanon until 1305 AD. The Ottomans came and beat the Mamaleek. Under Ottoman occupation we always had some form of identity because we would fight and cause so much havoc if they wanted to totally annex us and now Lebanon.
