  • What is your favorite water cooling case at the moment?

  • I was interested in what he was saying, until the little 'tch' after everytime he swallowed began to piss me off. I lasted for 2 minutes before it became too annoying.

  • If anybody knows whether that case would be good for a 360mm rad in the top pulling air out and the rest normal. Maybe with the rear exhaust flipped but other than that stock could you let me know?

  • I bought this to my new computer and I actually have no problem with heat. My cpu is watercooled but my two powercolor radeon 6950 are only fancooled. I installed three 120 mm fans at the top to suck the air out of the chassi and replaced the corsair 140 mm fan at the bottom (air-intake) with a noctua 140 mm fan. My graphic-cards idle at 33 degrees celcius and when I have been playing BF3 for some hours the cards only comes up to about 50 degrees.

  • it needs a 120MM fan fabricated on the glass on the side. That should take care of that problem

  • God review, keep it coming mate

  • Yes, good review

  • Raven RV02-EW is the best case period!

  • @redeemer777 no... Lian li pc-p80n THAT rules if u can afford it ;)

  • I got a great deal from this review. Many thanks. I can now honestly say I will not have a temperature problem with my new build. You have probably saved me a great deal of money and a massive headache. Thanks again. Gunner5053

  • Is there any case with this kind of build quality, features, and design that is more balanced for air cooling?

  • Hey Tom, this is my second time to ask you for help and I'm seriously in so much need for your help right now. I decided to build my own computer after 2 years or research and I made my final decision on all the parts except for the case so in your opinion what case should I get; the Corsair 800D (3 exhaust/intake fans at the top), the CoolerMaster HAF X, the Lian Li Armorsiut PC-P80, the Silverstone TJ07. I'll be getting the new powerful motherboard, the ASUS Rampage III Extreme Black Edition.

  • @TheEDZKIEZ probs the haf from that list

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms Thanks alot for your help Tom, I greatly appreciate it :)

  • @TheEDZKIEZ I know its long overdue but def lian li! Its aluminium dont absorb heat like all the other cabs

  • I have the 800D and I have replaced two 140mm fans with noctua but despite that the graphics card haven´t been cooler, I tried once with noctua 140mm at 1200rpm but the graphics card temperature were the same. Bottom intake just doens´t work when the graphics card or cards isn´t facing towards the fan. And even though I have the H50 with the Silverstone air penetrator (1500rpm) intaking air the temperature is still pretty hot and I also have two 140mm noctua fans exhausting at the top.

  • "... looks like a bloody UFO, trying to land"

  • from the cases that i know the best 2 that i think are the best is this one and the coolermaster haf x !

  • Hey, I really enjoyed your review, I just wanted to make a comment about running the case on air.

I agree with what you said, that the 800D is designed for water cooling, but it is possible to air cool the case effectively. Using the advice you mentioned, installing a better bottom intake fan, turning the rear exhaust into an intake and putting some decent fans on top makes the case quieter and cooler.

Most cases are designed to have good stock cooling, Corsair expects you to design your own.

  • I just ordered the case and I got a few questions. I've got a NH-D14, atm Im thinking that when I get the case I should make the rear fan intake, put in a few exausts at the top and turn the NH-D14 upwards. What do you think? Also, I was wondering how you think the fans perform compared to other silent fans like Fractal or Noctua fans?

  • @marchen1011 dont have the noctua upwards or it will pull hot air off your GPU. Youll have to experiment with fan layout as this is a really bad air case imho.

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms I think I will get this case in a few days and I am planning on a liquid cooling rig with the rasa 750 360mm and it was between this and the haf x. I chose this because i wanted a bluray burner/dvd burner/dual reservoir which is 4 slots and the haf x would only let me use 3 with a triple rad.

if I get this case and liquid cool the cpu, my graphics cards stay incredibly cool in my current case so it shouldnt be a problem.

    fans would be ....

  • @megamindstorm101 Fans would be replacing the bottom one with a noctua and the hdd's i think temp doesnt matter much (and i am going to put them in the bottom), and then ill have the triple rad be exhaust and then have the current exhaust fan be an intake, sound good? that means the only temps I have to worry about is the video cards and that should be fine right?

  • Hey bud just a quick question. Got my pc awhile ago and well it was custom built and im having nothing but problems with the cpu temps. I have some videos on my channel of the case "800D" and the inside of it. My CPU is a 975 at stock settings on idle i get around 35-40'c and using prime95 for 10 minutes getting 65+. It is water cooled as you will see. And the company just keep saying if its working then dont worry. So i decided to ask you love your videos and hopefully you can help :)

  • use your head it's a water cooling case not meant for air cooling

  • Hi I am building a new pc based on the 980x cpu and rampage extreme 3 motherboard,I have most of the parts only ram and the cpu needed as ive said in a previous post I have the antec 1200 case and will be air cooling for now with the thermaltake frio, I am thinking maybe of upgrading my case to the HAF X would this be a good move as I will in the future be considering water cooling.

Tnx for your quick reply to my last post btw

  • @G0UDG the HAF has native watercooling support so in that respect yes it would be better. I would buy the 970 cpu and a Noctua NH-D14 is I were you.

If you have the rampage then you should know what you are doing clockwise and also understand why you dont need the 980x.

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms My new pc build os for high end video editing hence the need for the 980x cpu I know the 970 is quick at stock speed but not a very good overclocker as ive read countless reviews of the 970 and also have a friend who has that cpu the 980x is far supperior for my needs, yes its overkill for gaming but my main use for this new build will be the video rendering gaming is secondary

  • @G0UDG No mate you dont need the 980. The 970 just has a lower multiplier. and if you get the 970 to 200bclk for a 4ghz overclock (200x20) with 2000mhz ram it will clock for clock be the same as a 980x.

the 980x is just for world record overclocking and for your use the 970 is fine. I have a 970 and a 980 but the 970 is in my main rig ;)

  • Compare this with the HAF X :D

  • Your absolutely right about the case being too closed off for air-cooling set-up. I would only use the 800d for water-cooling set-up . The HAF-X has better for both air-cooling and water-cooling set-up .

  • I dont like the front either.... It should of matched the side panels

  • Corsair make ugly cases, the insides are soooo nice but the outside is ugly, ewww...

  • also provide longer cage SATA cables, another 10cms would be good

check cage power cables, mine were slightly too widely spaced as the top power is actually bending over from the pressure of the cables and the bottom one is angling down

add 2 slim 120mm fans along bottom instead of 1 140mm

add more grommets and provide some screw holes between 5.25" bays and mobo for SSD mounting or water res or pump

the grommets between the bottom and middle are hard to use with my pump

  • Comment removed

  • i got one and the points i'd improve are:

add 5.25" securers on both sides as is it doesn't create a full finish once secured

change the plastic cover for usb etc with aluminium

make the corsair logo light up and integrate hdd act with sails

change hdd cooling so it exhaust out vents on side cover

viewable plastic covers should have logo imprint not the one thats are blocked by side cover, which

should be extended to a border similar to the read side so its a square window

  • I'm sort of torn between this case and the Lancool PC-K62, but this is my first serious custom build so water cooling isn't my priority at the moment, so maybe I'll stick with the Lancool case. I hope Cosair make a smaller version of this case in the future.

  • Somebody should tell this guy it's 2010, not 1985. Put the collars down man

  • @sebs30v so IM meant to be a sheep and follow what you think is right? Stop being a chicken and do what you thinks right not what your told to do.

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms I am rebuilding my comp. My Antec 900 case has great airflow, but is going to be a tight fit for the EATX evga X58 classified board I am using. I am staying with air cooling--low temps are paramount--any recommendations? The EVGA board has standard ATX bolt hole pattern--only difference is 3/4" wider (front to back--all on the sata ports side). I agree that some gaming cases are too flashy. Presently considering Antec 1200 (still maybe a bit cramped) and Coolermaster HAF-X.

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms

    1985 FTW!!!!

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms Hey nice review! If you have to chose only between the 800D and the Lian Li B71 as your gaming case which one would you choose? I know your not a fan of the H50 but if you really have to put it in your Lian Li B71 how would you go about it and where would you put the radiator and why? Thanks in advance.

  • @neolaciss The lian Li is a much better case imho but the only place you can really put the h50 is in the back which wont get the best from it. Much better off with the lian Li and a decent air heatsink tbh dude.

  • @sebs30v I agree, nobody with any intelligence or class pulls the collar up, not that people can't make mistakes from time to time. =\

  • @sebs30v LOL

  • Nice review, I like the case but bad airflow.

I'm going for the HAF X, better flow and usb 3.0 plugs.

  • Great review, I enjoyed the most part. Just the quality of the camera sort of messed it up. :P

  • Hey , I'm planning on getting one of these cases But i also would like a good Liquid cooling system to go with it I have the corsair H50 atm but i'm not really pleased with that because a real WC setup ofc cools a lot better then this tiny thing do you have any recommandations what Watercooling brand i should use I'll give the rest of my specs Core i7 920 @ 3.6 Ghz Asus p6t deluxe v2 mobo , Geforce gtx 480 (planning on getting a second one for sli ) Corsair 1000 watt power supply
  • im currently running this case and getting none of heat issues you are thou i was worried i also mounted a 140 at bottom under the main intake via with cable ties..my two 5770's sit at 40-45 65-70load cpu 930 @4.6 45-50 70-75load all the stock fans were replaced i agree air is not so good but water is brilliant.

  • hmm.. .and I bought all the same crap you did the reivew on.. now just need some fans and I'm done.. O,o

  • @haha48 Crap? This is my old test equipment. I dont even have any of that now dude.

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms No the case.. water cooler.. powersupply... I have a i7 940 and an intel dx580SO to go in it :p

  • @haha48 the H50 isnt a watercooler mate.

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms - What is it then?

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms the h50 aint a watercooler?! what are you talking about?! its got a 120 radiator and water tubes and a pump built into one piece! ofc its a watercooler! anyways! nice review! getting this case in a few hours

  • @roflhax you can call it whatever you want, but it's in the same class as mediocre air cooling...i know because i have one

  • @crazynsober2day i have one as well..i dont care what class it's in...it is watercooling..radiator + pump + water = watercooler

  • @roflhax i thought maybe you were going on about it being better than air because it is watercooling... my apologies

  • @crazynsober2day no worries :)

  • Great Review! I want to get this case but as you said it wasn't great for air cooling so I was planning on getting the case the H50. I was wondering if you could suggest a radiator that would fit where the top fans were. Thanks!

  • Man you really need to work on your swallowing. You have really good reviews but got kind of grossed out from all the swallowing and couldn't finish the video. Please guys don't give me hell for this but it's just really annoying and it's every video.

  • Thanks very much for the indepth review. I am going to be buying this case fairly soon. i will be using the h50 to cool the cpu and was thinking of using 3x akasa apache 120mm fans for exhaust at the top. My question is do i need 3? or will 2 be sufficient. Also would a push pull config on the h50 be more effective aswell in the case? And finally you were discussing the bottom 140mm which draws air in. Should i replace the stock corsair one or would it not make much difference ? THANKS!!

  • @JakeychanFTW the bottom fan deffo needs changing. 2 or 3 in the top doesnt really matter, but more fans means you should be able to run them a bit slower. Push pull on the h50 does make a difference but I personally do not rate the H50 at all. Buy a NH-D14 Noctua instead.

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms Thanks for the quick reply, really helpful stuff. Just subscribed, great informative unbiased reviews. Thanks!!

  • Nice review very honest and informative,I have read several reviews including the Bit Tech one and most are saying the same thing air cooling is not very good in this case. I was considering this case for my new build but think maybe ill stick with my antec 1200 for now, just a quick question will the h50 be ok in the antec 1200 case as I know its not suitable for all cases tnx

  • @G0UDG I wouldnt use the H50 at all tbh dude, I really dont rate it. Buy a Noctua NH-D14 and your temps will be much lower

  • @ThorTheCommenter cos Im not a sheep mate........ unlike some

  • @Thekilldevilhill @Thekilldevilhill hahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaa tidy? pfffft. You joke.

  • Hey mate thanks for all the videos. Its unfortunate you don't seem to like the case. You say in the video you dont think Corsair designed it for air, and you say in your comments its terrible for water cooling (without actually trying to install water cooling it seems)....so you don't think it does anything right then? lol. Na no worries dude, everyone to their own opinion and all. I'm gettin some of the best temps ever using this case, so maybe its just down to the person installing? lol.

  • i really like this case. looks nice. but not good air flow.. i would mode it i would replace the window to a mesh window and put in 2 of the 120mm fans or cut 2 holes for the 2 120mm fans

  • love your honest reviews. plus the cam going around the product - sweet! keep it up. i like how you talk on the subject.. more reviews please :-)

  • Good in depth review of a great case, air flow issues not withstanding.I've watched a lot of computer part reviews and you could be an English equivlant of Tjharlow soon so keep up the great work .I think i'll be going with a Cooler Master HAF 932 for my new air cooled system.

  • Great in depth review of a great case, air flow issues not withstanding. I've watched a lot of reviews of computer parts and i think that you are doing a great job, kinda like a british equivlant of Tjharlow,& that's some complement. Thanks again & keep up the great work.think I'll go with the Cooler Master HAF 932 for my new build.

  • have a drink of water, ur mouth sounds dry as hell.

  • You should look up the H50 Res mod, they were saying it dropped their temps my a minimum of 17 degrees at load.

  • There are no anti-vibration pads around the doors, no sound absorbing foam on the sides, and no anti-vibration on the hard drives. It's all metal on metal. It has the worst air cooling on the market. Come on Corsair, what does it take to have some air flow? What does it take to have some soundproofing? Why not just put some rubber pads and foam in like the Cooler Master Cosmos? Why make a beautiful case at £209 odd, and then cripple it needlessly?

  • The fan on the hdd "case" is it a 120mm or 140mm?

  • @TechnoGuru27 140mm

  • @makisswe Thanks

  • im finding the airflow in mine with 4 5770's i7 930 @ 4.4 fine for the time been, i will be changing the fans but ive had no issues thus far.

  • leave the side panel open! more fresh cool air! would that work?

  • I have a recommendation for Corsair, how about they put some 120mm fans on the side to cool the GPU's. Maybe they could do that in another model case.

  • this guy talks too much

  • @pratch93 All he said was useful pay some respect.

  • good vid i am glad i went with the cooler master haf 932 case because of it being way better for cooling the h50 works perfect in that and with the 932 to i have the rad mounted in the front to pull cool air in the front wich works 10 times better .

  • Very thorough unbiased review. Thanks for posting these videos. It was a great help.

  • Most in depth review on a case ever. Thanks for this review...... Finally found a case for my new water cooled system... Keep reviewing...6/5

  • i dont know if anyone said this before, but with the hard drives couldnt u mod the door on the front to be mesh or maybe get a fan on there?

  • @MegaJ0sh I will be doing just that with my build. I am thinking of getting rid of the aluminum front and making one out of perspex. Will add room for a front mounted fan for the HDD cage.

  • I'm thinking of getting that case, but I'm worried that there is not enough room for my particular setup. I'd need a 130.3 radiator (60mm high) with a push-pull setup for my three 5870s and then a second loop with two 140 radiators (with intake fans) push-pull for CPU and MB. Is there enough room for that kind of a system in there or am I forced to take a smaller radiator for a push-pull setup?

  • Also he is fucking up the airflow by using a none modular psu.

Cables are blocking air intake from the bottom.

Using the "watercooled" h50 with blowing air from the back into the case.

    Big nono

Air will be trapt inside the case.

  • @Hecket Sorry dude the 800D was DESIGNED for the H50.

  • it was not designed for the h50. They made it compatible with it.

If your talking airflow, yes the top exhaust help by venting air.

It still screws up the air flow.

But if they designed it for the h50 you'd think they add a dust filter on the "rear intake".

Corsair designed the case by listening to the costumer and adding in features they suggested.

Currently using this case with custom watercooling parts. Love the space xD

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms The H50 cools quite bad to be honest, I used it, dumping it now for real water cooling, my old Thermaltake fan cooled even better. The case is not designed just for this case since the H50 fits in any case. The 800D is made for water cooling because of all the massive space.

  • @ItchyNL Its actualy got a terrible layout for watercooling. Nothing looks tidy. This case is a bit like the GTX480..... just for fanboys or people that dont know better.

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms Actually how can the case be for watercool fanboys? Any big or even a giant case like this is perfect for water cooling since it has all the space to play anything and the cable management behind the motherboard will keep it even cleaner for the tubing etc. Also nothing wrong with the GTX480, even tho it might perform only a slightly better (10-15%) no other card can do so much better in DX11 max tesselation than GTX480, also with watercooling this card is no issues with heat.

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms Check youtube for "Corsair 800D Water Cooling" for some videos. Most cases have a general same layout, so does this case, it is just far bigger so perfect for a single and even a dual loop water cooling setup.

  • @ItchyNL Dude its a terrible case for water, you much better off with a coolermaster 840 tbh, and save yourself some money too. Youll never get 2 decent looking loops in the 800D.

Sorry to say it but I really dislike this case, and would never use one for a build no matter what I was offered.

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms Guess I will show you different sometime soon in a month orso when I get everything setup, budget related else it would be done in a week ;)

Thank you for your responses tho, I will be back often to check for updates or anything.

  • @ItchyNL Just my own personal view dude. If we all thought the same it would be different. The 800D just doesnt suit my style of builds.

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms Also I am not a nVidia fanboy btw or a AMD hater, the only reason I would buy a GTX480 is for CUDA and PhysX.

  • The HX100 is a modular power supply.

  • @Hecket

The air won't be trapt because hot air GOES UP !!!!

    So no trapt air -,-

  • stupid case!!!!!!!! the intake fan from the bottom got like a 5" gap and try to suck in the air. They should try putting a fan directly sucking air from the outside...and switching the exhaust to intake is stupid...dust will build up and will ruing their stupid wanna be dust filter lol. If you have to do that, might as well go HAF or any other cheap case lol

  • Exhaust to intake has nothing to do with this case. it is the corsair cpu h50 cooler. Wich is not even necessary to change the intake. it will only help your cpu temprature by a couple of degrees.

The haf 932 does not have seperate cooling "rooms" and the big case fan sucks in air from the front and out the top. no dust filters.

I've tried both cases, with stock air and my personal watercooling parts.

I prefer the 800d over the haf 932.

But tbh it all comes down to personal preferences.

  • heyy, very nice review btw.

do you think there would be room for an extra fan placed beside the side panel window?

also possibly making an air duct directing air head-on towards the graphics cards?

    many thanks again.

  • I like how you review your cases, you don't sound like a fanboy and you stress out little details that people are not aware of.

  • I really liked your videos about the Corsair 800D, very indept and honest review.

  • LOL @ ipullstuffapart... Who goes to a LAN party..... Only faggs like yourself. Don't be laughing at the guy with HAF 932.. Laugh at urself for telling us you have no life and you eat cock meat sandwiches.... WHAT A FCUKN GOOF

  • hahahah "i dont like alot of the gaming cases, looks like a bloody UFO tryin to land"

this guy is cool i like the detail..but he needs to quit pausing and making click noises after he says a long sentence..sounds like he just ate a big meal and has heart burn lol..

  • haha i went to a lan party not too long ago (with this case) i was next to a guy with a haf 932 with cold cathodes and LED fans, i actually said to him when he arrived, "what are you doing? gaming or landing ya dick". lol

  • ok, so heres my two cents on the flow of the air. If your going to have water cooling in your case and attach your radiator to the top of the case, wouldn't you want the cool air blowing down in to your radiator to keep it as cool as possible? Then have the fan at the back of the case just blowing the exhaust out the way it was meant to flow. Now with the way it is set up in the video I don't see why there would be a problem, since he is using the H50 in the back, and not the top.

  • Thanks for a great review. I planned on getting the H50 along with this case, so that is great to know. I will be putting two 120mm fan on top like you did, that is for sure!! Thanks again.

  • The most informative/honest review (seen dozens) on this case. It's the only one to mention cooling issues. However, he ("Time...") made it clear what the fix is and for whom this case is designed for... like me (Mr. First-time-liquid-cooler). I already had it on order, but now I know how to optimize it! Thank you so much, sir!

  • How fast do the 140mm fans run? I have this case but wonder if it is worth replacing them?

  • great video - very nice case aswell, shame its so expensive and i feel a little on the big size. its a tough call to make once you put it aside the cheaper TJ07.

    keep up the great reviews!

  • i absolutely love how detailed your reviews are, seeing this just shows how much time you put into this, i really do appreciate your comments, they were honest, its made my mind up. thank u so much. now im going to listen to u, and change everything you told me to change. honestly, thank you soo much

  • Tom I have spent a very long time looking, reviewing pricing and comparing a lot of top end cases. Your review was both honest and informative. With a change of fans I think Ihave found my choice of case.

    Thanks from a fellow BRIT

  • Its comments like that that keep me making videos. Thank you kind Sir.

  • When is your next video coming up? So far your latest videos were of the ATI 5000 cards. Anything new you are working on or something exciting?

Oh, BTW, I bought this case ~2 weeks after viewing your reviews. Let me tell you, you sir, are right in many of the aspects of the case and due to that I was well prepared with new fans and a proper cooling system. I planned everything perfect since you provided the measurements I needed.

THANKS A LOT! Not a Brit, but a grateful fellow Honduran. A+

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms I am considering getting this case for my first self-built pc, if I go with the H50 would I have to replace the other stock fans - if i don't overclock?

    (i7 920, Single ati 5850)

And is this case a sensible decision in general?

  • Yes mate its a must, xigmatec or yate loon fans are good but tbh Id take a look at the other options you have in that price.

  • whats being british got to do with anything? :]

  • Why does he dramatically smack his lips before he starts speaking again? It's similar to an older man coughing the flem from his guts before he speaks....

  • I bought this case yesterday and I saw this review before purchase, but since I'm not into massive overclocking, I thought this case is more than great for my setup. I also changed all the fans and added three Coolink fans to the top and result of that the temperatures were very low. I'm using massive Noctua CPU cooler and Arctic Accelero xtreme to cool single 4870x2 GPU card. So at least for me the case works just fine for aircooling.

  • After I saw your video, I went out and bought an Antec 902 and was planning on sending the 800d back.

However, I think ill just buy the H50 and 3x 120mm fans for the top for exhaust and take the Antec 902 back.

This case is unmatched for size and cable management features, even though the outside isnt too attractive.

    Good review.

  • did corsair yell at you for this? There a bad company, their products are popular but i doubt they will send you things anymore cause you bashed their product. good on you though m8. why i love your reviews. :)

  • Excellent review, I've been trying to decide on a case for the past month now. It's come down to the Corsair Obsidian, Cooler Master ATCS 840 & the Silverstone Raven RV02.

  • I just found your review and Must say that I like the + points and - points. It's just what I've been looking for and I'm getting it the h50 and probably the ram fans to add extra air movement/disruption.

You asked for feedback on the review and Altho it is a little long it's very informative.

  • tyvm dude <3

  • Hey nice review, very in depth and some proper testing going on too. Could you comment a bit on the build quality in comparison to the lian li cases? I have the PC-A10 case and was a bit disappointed with the build quality, panels seemed a bit flimsy and overall a few rattles and buzzes/resonances from the case. I do audio work so I love a case with solid build to keep noise down etc. How would you say this compares to the Lian Li's i regards to build quality? Once again great review!

  • Lian Li's are designed to be light, considering the thickness of the aluminium they are very good. Im really not a fan of the 800D and would not advise anyone to buy it at all. If you would prefer a quality case look at the Cooler Master 840

  • I am in agreement with you on this i don't see why people thought they were so special. Have you ever worked with the Tj07? I recently bought mine and love the case easy to work with and heaps of room but it being the older model needed a bit of modding for cables.

  • Im not really a fan of those either tbh

  • Hey mate thanks for the review. I was wondering if you could recommend a 140mm fan to replace the ones that Corsair have provided, I am using the Scythe Gentle Typhoons for all the 120mm spots but I don't have a clue on what a good 140mm would be. Thanks for any help.

  • Depending on the colours of the fans you have look at the Yate Loon range, or the orange Xigmatecs do move a lot of air, but you would want all matching fans for them to look right.

  • Alright cheers mate.

  • lol the atcs 840 without more fans is also a heat box lol

  • Very nice review.

I've thought about buying this case for awhile, but always had my concerns over the airflow, since i wont be using water.

I have pretty much gone off this case now, because of the airflow issues and using an SLI setup the cards would get very hot without and cool air over them.

The only other option i have been thinking of is modding it so i could put a 140/120mm intake fan on the front where the drive bays are. But im unsure if this is practical without destroying the look

  • one more thing im puzzled here m8,on top can be only mounted radiator with 3 120mm fans,or it has the holes to mount just 3 good 120mm fans,i already laid my eyes on some good fans and they have excelent rewievs they push 110 cmf or more, lil loud but good performance and solid build m8. So up top 3 120mm just fans possible?

  • Yes you can just mount fans up top if needs be. I would say 110cfm is overkill tbh. Some good quality fans up there are all you need tbh. Xigmatec (orange blades) Yate Loons even Xilence fans would serve you well.

  • thanks a lot m8,I might just take your very first advice and go with the haf 932,but I'll go with the AMD edition due to the plastic see trough side pannel and plus it will be AMD&ATI build. The corsair Obsidian is just overpriced,I like it but overpriced...

  • hey chief great videos as always,I guess the h50 helps cause it brings in cold air inside-so i would guess the h50 comes with 120mm fan? Then you can mount on top good 3 fans between 90-110 cmf,my only question is on the bottom the 140mm fan can that be replaced with 120mm one? or it has to be 140mm,pretty much all the stock fans are 140mm,but question is can they be replaced with 120mm aftermarket ones without drilling new hole.Sorry for so many questions im planing to buy this case.

  • the bottom 140mm mount is 140 only. Look for Xigmatec or Yate Loons for replacements

  • i may get this, or perhaps a smaller version if they make it... but i would only use the h50 and air, not stock air though.

  • this is really a watercoolers case. hence the 3 x 120mm mounts on top. having 3 120mm coolermaster 90cfm green fans and the cooling is really good. on my radiator :D

just put in better fans and its all good. in my experience stock case fans must always be replaced for optimal performance.

i got this case and its great :)

  • love the end review that you are fair about the case i didnt know that cuz i hate tigerdirect etc they say these cases are all great and i didnt see 3Dgameman review on it yet so this review is awsome :D

  • Finaly an answer to the airflowproblem. I've asked about that. And all say it plenty air. Well... seams not :) Ty

  • I have this case it's awesome, grewat cooling if you do it properly. First thing you do grab all the fans that come with the case and throuw them in the bin. THey are completely useless. Replace them with name brand fans. And finally use back fan as intake.

    Result: OMFG WIN!

  • Idd tnx for the honost review! I was looking for a WC case, and you really helped to pick this one :).

    Tnx!

  • Thanks for an honest review. Everyone else gives it like 5/5 and nobody addresses the air flow issue. I was in the market for the Lian Li PC-A77B, but they've stopped making it and so the Corsair got my attention. No matter what type of cooling you're using, good air flow should always be a priority! Therefore the Corsair is a looser.

However, I have a small crush towards Lian Li and their aluminum cases. I just wish they'd make the PC-P80 more practical and without that ugly top and front!

  • Take a look at the Lian Li B70 and B71 dude, that might work for you.

  • Hi again and thanks for a quick response. Not many reviewers out there that bother responding to posts the way you do. GREAT JOB! I need a case that can take a PA 120.3 in the front and with a few mods the PC-A77 does that extremely well. And it has an awesome finish and build quality to it. Being from Sweden, I think I'll just have to accept the shipping fee from UK Thats it , made up my mind! Thanks again and keep the good reviews coming. Marry Christmas!

  • If you get any of the larger Lian Li's I can watercut a custom grill in the roof for for you dude. You can just send me the roof, or I can get the case for you, mod the roof, even do a quick powdercoat and ship in on for you?

  • Hmm, my comments doesn't get posted.. Anyway, I placed an order from kustompcs last night. They haven't shipped the case yet. Perhaps I could change the shipping address to you? I would really love to get the interior powdercoated black!

  • would you recommend a water cooling setup with the 360mm rad at the top and a 120mm rad on the back to water cool a cpu and 2 graphics cards? or just stick with the H50 cooling the cpu and the 360mm rad cooling the 2 graphics cards?

also what kind of fans do u recommend? im thinking of the Xigmatek XLF series 120mm and 140mm fans. one more question do shrouds really make a difference im thinking the Feser TFC extenders for the 360mm rad? Thank you very much!!!

  • tbh dude custom water will always be better than the H50. you dont say what rad, or what GPU's. If you used a good quality rad then you would be ok if there wasnt any insane overclocking. Xigmatec fans are good, look at Yate Loons also. I dont like ANY feser products except the coolant. the rads are over priced, the fans are pants, and the shrouds can help but not worth it for that money.

  • im thinking of the XSPC RX360 Extreme Performance and the RX120. My processor is a phenom II 940 which i would love to overclock and i have 2 4870 X2's in crossfire. Yeah same here looking at the XSPC rad its a little bit thinner than the Feser rad but its $50 cheaper. Thanks for the Info!

  • Sound is bad

  • Where is the Haf 922 review, I'd like to see that one as well. Never seen a reviewer get so in depth before. 10 star reviews man.

  • oh yes great review by the way,not all reviews mention this problem although is obvious to the naked eye that this case lacks in air cooling department, cheers m8 keep up the good job.

  • so m8 let me get this straight,if you ad the h50 on this case to cool the cpu and also brings air inside the case, and have 2 120mm fans on top to exit the hot air, will this set up work for 2 GPU's or is still not as good as other air case cooling such as the 932 haf? I'm thorn apart which case should i go with, will be building new rig but when ati 5970 drops the price, and want to have 2 of those but they run hot.If i do the same set up as you will i be safe or should i just go with the haf 932?

  • Id buy the HAF932 and save yourself over £100 tbh dude. HAF will be better for air but still have the watercooling options later.

  • Hey mate, Great review. I have been stuck on this for a while now. I can not decide which case to buy I am kind of like you when it comes to flash looking cases but the RAVEN RV01 I do like it is not to "childish?" looking for me but then I also really like the corsair but thats a hundred or so dollars more. What do you think I should do?

  • Great review mate. Think someone else mentioned it re: the microphone - maybe a filter or something to smooth the sound - ignoring that! Excellent review, really thorough, solid pros/cons, 100% unbiased. I've been eyeing this case off for a long time but will reconsider as I might be stuck with an air cooled system, so thank you muchly for investigating an obvious issue with this case and even providing solutions.

  • core temp, gpu-z and hwmonitor for the free ones, but Ive also got Everest Ultimate.
