Rubber powered scale model airplanes

Gullows kits are a poor choice to get started trying to fly FF scale rubber. They are too damn heavy to be very sucessful. If you want more realism and flight duration you need to start with kits that are available from small back-yard manufacturers like all the ones listed in Flying Models magazine.

@adamflip1 Yeah , you´r right, I reproduce analog structures for my planes, ( no fuselage formers at all)I mean you will find a stick where you find a tube in the real thing.thxs

airfoils varies depending on model type,most of them have high efficiency. J3 airfoil ensure a slow flight and high lift so the model flies very slow and clims quickly, but glide ratio not so good

I went to store called the hobby shop got a basic one not cool like yours and my has weak thin balsa wood.

that´s an important poin! balsa should be selected allways acording to part function and location, and is a major concern in Alfredo Arbe´s model KITS.Unfortunately in some mass production models ,there´s just not time to make correct selection acording to density and legnght of fiber.That´s the same job that early aviation craftmans did! but was costly and req experience.Fell free to email, thxs for your comment!

@nofameatall  Yeah, I use low density balsa for ribs and high density for fuselage longerons,besides that I build the airplanes in analog way than real ones, mean, you will find a stick where the real plane has a tube.I dont use fuselage formers, that saves me a lot of weight to ad scale details without being spoiling flight performance.thxs!!

For J-3 ist just yellow jap tissue,with black airbrushed details

L-5 in invasion scheme,green paper and colour detail airbrushed with testorsmodel acrilici paint
