  • Listening to this, I didn't think it was meaningless. It said that society serves capitalism and that economic theory can even explain internal psychology and such. I was guessing that there would then challenges these ideas be presented or discussed. It seemed like waste-of-time postmodernism, but not nonsense. Maybe we don't respond because we are desensitized to this type of thing because postmodern scholars actually talk like this... Great presentation either way! Thanks for sharing!

  • Nice! Only one question... who walked on his face? :)

  • Awesome upload!

  • what a shit camera man

  • I think you could better this presentation by allowing a little time in between some sentences so people could have the opportunity to raise their hands, and then after they fail to do so throughout the speech, bring this point to their attention.

  • why are so many asian students in the class ?

why do some students wear hats in the class ?

    strange......

  • in the given example, you could not even form a question, to ask later. it has to do with pluralism, which is a stage of developement: while conformistic or rational people would behave the same, because of social rules, they would not have felt the same. they would have felt a more or less extreme version of: "if I can't understand it, it must be stupid nonesense, so FK this guy and my university for having incomprehensible teachers". it's a slight leap to expect students to be pluralistic.

  • @kenjifoo One question. What the #$%& are you talking about?

  • haha, genius! absolute genius!

  • I disagree it is common courtesy to wait until a break to ask questions. It is better to raise a hand and ask the question there and then. The lecturer can then say I'm just coming to that, or explain. This gives a more interactive lecture rather, otherwise just watch a movie about the subject.

  • Great way to break them out of complacency, Dan! And the use of the postmodern text generator: genius. I'm obviously going to steal, erm… borrow the idea!

  • Pluralistic ignorance had nothing to do with it. It's common courtesy to allow the instructor to lecture as he/she chooses and to ask questions once a break in the lecture is announced. Otherwise the instructor would barely get a word out before someone interrupted with a question which might have been answered in the next sentence had the interruption not occurred.
