  • Too fast fuck this version

  • nirvana version is better

  • SHUT UP EVERYONE! its the meat puppets, they cand do whatever they want ... Gruuuuuuuuuuungeeeeee ...

  • well this is not the the only music by the meat puppets in unplugged, there's also plateau, right?

  • The version on meatpuppets II is the best version IMO. This sounds more like the nirvana version.

  • who gives a fuck just pick your favorite version and shut the fuck up. lol.

  • I no this was The Meat Puppets song first but I think Nirvana's is better...

  • i am a big nirvana fan, but...guys? its not their song? they took it because they liked it? many of may like kurts version more because you heared it more times and your used to his sound...but all in all you should see that HE took the son because its awesome and because he liked it....if you dislike it listen to the other version and stfu...they are both great !

  • @DerStefan123 I discovered the meat puppets before i was a huge nirvana fan. I knew the original Lake of Fire and Plateau (not to mention claimed it as my theme song!) and it now feels like everyone thinks that the original is a cover of the Nirvana Unplugged thing. WRONG. Thanks for pointing that out to everyone!!!

  • Nirvana came, nirvana saw, nirvana conquered this song!

  • omg their drummer sucks

  • intro song????

  • sounds like a pupil's garage band. this really SUCKS!

  • А Курт Кобэйн спел намного лучше!

  • i like the Nirvana's version

  • that solo is SICK!!!

  • Is this only me or they're tryin to sing more like Cobain did ? -___- Seriously, the studio version is way much better than this crap.

  • @kam1st Sure This is Crap But Its A Crap Version I see Them Live They Rocks

  • @kam1st you aren't serious right? Nirvana covered this song from the meat puppets... Kurt even mentions it on the unplugged in NY performance.

Nirvana's cover sounds better to me but that doesn't mean you shouldn't be respecting the original version.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!! ARGHH!!!

  • guys, comon, grunge is a loving community. no hating man, no hating

  • @cassidys1417 that 'man' like adds the grunge vision, dude.

  • @cassidys1417 that's right. Peace !!

  • nirvanas cover pretty gud than this

  • STOP TALKING ABOUT NIRVANA ON MEAT PUPPETS VIDS

  • @jrack13 who do you think you are dumbass ? when nirvana would kill meat puppets you would also talk about nirvana on this vid so gtfo idiot

  • @Gesreg seriously, do us a a favor and shut the fuck up

  • @jrack13 us ? dude nobody likes you go to hell

  • I like this song a ton better live then the album version

Nirvana was awesome, The Meat Puppets were, and are stilll awesome what is there to argue about really Kurt like The Puppets and collaberated well with then I love Nirvanas covers of Puppets songs but they are Puppets songs so you have to give a ton of credit to the Kirkwood geniuosis

  • kurt is (was) a better singer than curt, and curt is a better guitarist than kurt. the end.

  • @ghonzalo you're right nirvana songs are easy but AWESOMEEEE °

  • this song is original from the meat puppets...

everyboddy thinks is that nivarna song ...but isnt

  • their album version is much more interesring.. unfortunately they, or he, was on a lot of acid.

  • I am a fan of both bands..in my opinion BOTH versions rock!!! And Nirvana TOTALLY gave due credits to the Puppets every time they sang it..irregardless, blahblahblah...how about a lil shut fuck the up and listen to the music?!?!

  • and adding to my last comment i think your a better band if you make your audiance feel the words thats what i get from nirvanas songs and covers. but listening to the meat puppets original it just sounds like an awsome song i dont feel anything behind it

  • i think they(meat puppets) should get as much credit, but i feel like theres more emotion or i feel the lyrics more the way kurt sang it, but props got to go to meat puppets for making some sick lyrics

  • this sounds like shit

  • Respond to this video... this shit is fucking gay and i hate when fags get pissed at nirvana for making this shit sound better

  • ounk rock dudess!!

  • both versions are great but I dont see how people can compare them, they're both totally different versions of the song and played way differently...both of em i love the same amount

  • lol played this version with my and once and all emo's started crying, they hated me for not loving nirvana...

  • who buen video amigo es super chingon

  • the songs & lyrics are great, but yes, kurt kubains voice made that clear, without him singing the songs i'd never had recognized the beauty..

  • i usually like originals better but...

  • im not knowing any stuff bout that. All i know is... l like some of the nirvana pieces, and lake of fire is one of those. And i must say... i like the recording of Cobain and his band better. :/

  • I saw them perform with STP best concert ever

  • Not exactly favorite type of music, but respect.

  • its the meatpuppets with kobain singing, Krist playing bass, and Dave playing drums

  • you guys do realize that Nirvana never even covered this song, they played ONE show with the Meat Puppets, the Meat Puppets and Nirvana were playing at the same time so the "Nirvana version" is just the Meat Puppets with Cobain singing

  • And grohl drumming... and novaselic playing bass at the same time as the meat puppets bassist... watch the video if you dont believe me

  • Well not at unplugged.

  • @OriginalRubberJesus

yeah i'm sorry, buy you're wrong. He played lake of fire for mtv n00b

  • @GNAALlama

No I'm not wrong, yeah he played lake of fire for mtv, and if you look at the video you'll notice chris and curt kirkwood behind cobain for every meat puppets song they played, I was actually alive for that show, which judging by your use of "n00b" you weren't.

  • and what about the unplugged version for MTV?

  • @maskil

are you retarded or something, did you not read the post i just wrote RIGHT ABOVE YOURS, the mtv unplugged version was the ONLY TIME nirvana ever played that song, EVER, and it was WITH the meat puppets ergo not a "cover"

  • @ Originalrubberjesus

First of all, Youtube is f***ed up sometimes, so the posts are not always shown in the correct order.

2nd, no use/need to get aggressive

3rd guess it depends on how define cover. Why is it not a cover only because two Meat Puppets were on stage with Nirvana to play it?

  • @OriginalRubberJesus and Cobain just sang. He can't even touch Curt Kirkwood's guitar playing. There are some real retards posting about this. Grow up.

  • Comment removed

  • still nirvana sounds better

  • sick

  • This is AWESOME!!! wtf is w/ you nirvana fans always trying to rip off the Meats ? How do figure that a recording of this tune by Curt Kirkwood, Cris Kirkwood, Kurt Cobain, and Dave Grohl can be called "Nirvana's" version? Clearly it is a collaboration between the two bands.

Kurt Cobain gave these guys the credit they deserve so should you.

  • i thin nirvana's version of lake of fire was more smooth and sounded better but the meat puppets Plateau was better

  • Right on! I love both bands but these guys deserve alot of credit. The inspired Kurt.

  • @woooool

    te cabe el morcipan :D

  • @woooool

man be honest, this one might be good... but nirvana's version is brilliant, at least way better

  • @Sjvg91 its not even nirvanas "version"... its the exact same as the very original one in 1980 something... you know why? because the only difference is kurt cobain is singing.

  • @woooool their both rok and thats why at the end he says it was by the meat puppets no offense nirvana is more mellow grung thats why i better but i like it when im in a punk rock mood i listen to this but i like nirvana better sorry

  • @woooool I am a Nirvana fan, but i am one of the last i think that think alike Kurt my friend... its sad.

Imagine.... All 3 of there guitar playing along with kurts voice, and with Daves drumming... if only they would have made a side project band while Nirvana was going towards the end. That would have been one of the best bands in the universe.

  • @woooool

The 'colaboration' version is still better. lol

  • @woooool Yo man. Nirvana is how I know this song. I keep hearing different versions of Meat Puppets doing this, Nirvana did a good job you as a music fan can't deny that.

  • thug213139 you think they cant sing

Meat Puppets - Sewn Together (Live @ FM/103.9 studios)

  • they suck

  • I dont know what it is, but the Nirvana cover just felt like it matched the lyrics better.

  • This is ok, I guess, but I like nirvana's cover of the song better. Kurt had a really cool voice and he sang on key.

  • the meat puppets actually do do a slower version of this song which is what nirvana copied and who gives a fuck, kurt himself said one of his favourite bands was the meat puppets on nirvana unplugged album

  • What is really strange is that everyone is complaining about Nirvana and Meat Puppets. Who gives a shit? Meat Puppets created it and it's awesome and Nirvana covered it w/ the Meat Puppets and it is still awesome. Can't wait to see 'em Sept 5th!

  • Kurt Cobain -__-

  • The lead singer is Zed from police academy.

  • fuck you thundercunt. because they paced it down they suck? go fuck yourself.

  • All of you are dumbasses. I never said anything about the band not playing it, I am saying the sped up version with these fuckos singing is horrid because they can't sing, end of story.

  • They're playing the song the way that they want to. Maybe they decided that the slower version just didnt catch the emotion they wanted.

  • suck like Primus

  • fuck off. this is their song. nirvana covered it, with these guys playing guitar and bass. dumbass.

  • ...except the meat puppets wrote it...

  • Nirvana version is 100 times better than this shit.

  • hell yeah it is.

  • tardboy

  • the meat puppets write great music, their songs are very well written

  • vocals sound fucked up if thats not on purpose they fucked up... sound slike shit

  • Meat Puppets- See you at the House of Blues tonight!!!

  • they should take the credit. nirvana's cover is better though.

  • @nikkyfree213 You are a pathetic loser. You worship a dead heroin addict.

  • @zebageba your moms a slut. your dads a slut. your a slut. so eat my asshole

  • @zebageba your moms a slut. your dads a slut. your a slut. so eat my asshole.

  • @zebageba your a faggot. you suck dick and lick asshole.

  • @zebageba your a faggot. you suck dick and lick asshole.

  • the intro's pretty tight

  • ok that sounds like another hardrock- guitar shreding song. but nirvana with the MP play it so much better. like a country blues old school rock, like they did with the amazing Lead Belly's cover u know...

  • Acoustic/vocal video response also "The Man Who Sold the World" and some original stuff...thank U!!

  • I like nirvana as a band, but man, meatpuppets does this song so much better. Maybe because they created it. watch all the versions then say your opinion.

  • i don't know about that... It could've been that i heard nirvana's version first. But i think kurt does a better job actually singing it. This guy sounds like hes just talking it.

  • I agree with you, I heard Kurt's version first, and I LOVE IT, I don't like this one as much

  • um...what about johnny cash???!??!?lol

  • Nirvanas is way better

  • This used to be my one of my favorite band till I found out the lead singer is a child molester. Pretty sick world we're livin in.

  • What? Really?

  • whats a child molester ? exuse my bad english ... i mean what does he do

  • That means that he loves to fuck little children.

  • I really don't believe you, where did you hear about this?

  • I made it up. I like to start rumors. So I guess I'M the sick one.

  • lol no he's not

  • Don't believe this immature bullshit.

  • they suck! i'm seein them tomorrow night.

  • puppets fuckin rule.

  • holy shit..the meat puppets..are unbalevably..atrochious seriously that is by FAR the worst singin i have ever heard...is this a joke video..onselty?..nirvana FTw!

  • Shut the fuck up. The Meat Puppets are the masterminds behind this song. Nirvana just covered it. If Kurt was still alive, he'd sound like shit trying to sing his songs, too.

  • Prefer Meat puppets. See them yesterday 1/13/09 on Casbah San Diego and they totally kicked ass. Didnt dig much the country stuff anyway.

  • nirvana version is best still the original is not so cool.

  • the version on their album too high to die is a lot better than this

  • Nirvanas version is way better

  • @MattGryglewicz1 dude it's not NIRVANA's Version, if you think about it there were 2 bands and the meat puppets were there, they played with nirvana.... but i guess you weren't there.....

    fuck you verymuch...

  • i'm a huge nirvana fan, but i like both fire's just as equally. this one's the more rock out at a bar version, and nirvana's the more smoke blunts play at a campfire version.

  • nice video editing and clean audio... sweet work.  the intro and lead kicked arse. (~);}

  • NIRVANA OR MEAT PUPPETS YOU DECIDE

  • Nirvana

  • ^^don't worry!... i believe you !

  • yeah ! pretty good ! but in good Nirvana's fan, I prefer their version, it's less hard... but love this too !!

  • I Used to be like that with 'Oh me' but It grows on you. Believe me.

  • good but i like nirvanas cover more.

  • i dig it.
