This was so nice. The music added something more to it.I wasn't born until '56 but I remember going with my dad on payday to G.C. Murphy's for a hot dog, coke & hot fudge sundae.Back then pop & a fountain bought sundae was a treat for special occassions.Hot dogs were for picnics or when in a rush.Hubby has some pics of Avondale (the slums) & I have a couple of pics of a backyard in Pollard & around the ball park in the park from the early 60s.
I didn't grow up there but my mothers family did, still have the family seat on Lexington Ave. Grandfather was a foreman at Armco for 33 years. I recognise a lot of these shots from Winchester Avenue and Greenup Ave. as well. Nice!
Nice vid, very well composed with soothing affects, i recently did a five part pictorial history on Ironton Oh. from its Industries to the 37 flood at 777phase, thanks for posting this history of Ashland, keep them coming...............777phase.
Very cool! I legitimately regret having been born in Ashland in the 1980s, as it was simply stunning in the '30s and '40s. Beautiful video.
