  • This town needs an enema!

  • get those wonderful toys .. never rub another mans rubarb

  • They should have stopped making batmans after this one.

  • Sorry, Zimmer. You've got some skill, but you have nothing on the Elf man.

Of course, Shirley Walker's compositions for the animated series nearly blow even this straight out of the water, at least in my opinion

  • theme of my life

  • Magnifique

  • Where does he get those amazing toys.

  • come on fellas. lets get em.. its da bats!!

  • unbelieveable music amazing...

  • long as hell

and Elfman's score is so apt for this

  • @womblewandering I ask that to all my prey.don't know what it means, but I like the sound of it

  • this is just a thought but, they should have incorporated this piece into the Arkham games. Even if it was just the first minute or so. That would have been real cool.

  • Absolutely legendary theme by Elfman! One of the best hero themes ever, period!

  • Danny Elfman, no one else is like him!

  • was this directed by burton?

  • @Neuf8 it means all the song put into one or multiple pieces in different broken up parts by the same name like the first harry potter suite it has all the music from the movie into one piece. the suite usually happens at the end of the movie. hope that helps =^_^=

  • @PrincessKeo12000 I see! well thanks for the info ;D it was really helpful!

  • @Neuf8 your welcome :D

  • DCU Online Gotham city 7:50 8:09

  • I would LOVE to see The Dark Knight re-scored with this music.

  • @spectreblofeld Amen, brother! The power, the movement, the passion! Hard to duplicate!

  • Danny Elfman can only compose the music for Batman.... he gives it a good dark atmoshear to it

  • Danny Elfman and Tim Burton are what made the first Batman movies so awesome, the darkness is a stark contrast from the cheery original series.

  • Hans Zimmer is an amazing composer (Inception, POTC, Sherlock Holmes and Rango to name but a few) but his talent just doesn't show up in the Nolan films - with two exceptions - Joker's theme, and the Batman theme they played in the TDK trailer. I'll take Danny Elfman's score any day.

  • Comment before---I meant a major with third in bass ---makes major chord sound a little darker. got a chip on my shoulder blahblahblah......

  • Except for YO YO Ma, most of the dead composers, Michael Torke, and Conductor Gerard Schwartz. The rest of you music people can kiss my hairy a**!!!!!

  • As a composer myself, I listen to some of the serial, and 12 tone stuff and I think it is a bunch of Horsesh**.I like a FEW 12 tone peices.I would take old batman theme over a whole lot of that sh*tty a** stuff they compose nowadays. The days of " our music is too good for the audience to appereciate" is over.To not write for your audience is bullsh**.It takes much more talent to write cerebral music that also inspires the "ordinary person" and leaves them excited.Ok so music elites:Kissmya**!!!

  • ok, I took another listen to Hans Zimmer's---It's growing on me. But anybody can string together a bunch of minor chords--add a diminished here and there...major chord with the fifth in the bass....I don't hear much of a theme or melody. Which is ok I guess. At the end it almost sounds like he borrows from Winter from 4 seasons by Vivaldi....just a hint of it....it's ok I guess.

  • Also, I think John Williams is the greatest movie composer because he can adapt his orchestration skills to ANY film. I think the classical eltites are ***holes when they look down their nose at him. The guy has talent and they are just jealous because they don't make any money from their more "cerebral" music. Music is supposed to inspire, motivate, and move you.

  • I LOVED the original orchestal music by Elfman. The recent music for Dark Knight and the other one...can't remember title...was uninspired. I think Hans Zimmer is a really talented composer. I liked his work in the Gladiator. But he just didn't connect to me emotionally with Batman. The superheroe movies needs a more thematically developed score. Hans Zimmers was drivel and boring. Kind of set the mood but was very non-memorable.

  • This Town needs an emena

  • "What are you?"

    "I'm Batman"

  • Ever dance with the devil in the pale moon light?

  • ever dance with the devil in the pale moonlight?

  • What are you dense? Are you retarded or something? Who the hell do you think I am? I'm the goddamn Batman.

  • OMG The Old Animtaed series theme. Those times were the Golden Age of Batman.

    (Nostalgia mode on)

  • @nastyplot555 This is not the old animated series theme. This is the Tim Burton's Batman theme.

  • @RodericGonzalez

Listen carefuly, and you'll see it's actually very similar to TAS.

  • @nastyplot555 It's similar but it's not the same theme. For the animated series they use a different score of Shirley Walker who composed a variation of the Danny Elfman's 1989 Batman movie theme.

  • that ain't what i heard at all....I heard - the bat got him.

-the bat!? awh man gimmie a break will ya :P

  • "have u ever heard of the healing power of laughter"???

  • Nice outfit.

  • My balloons.

    Those are my balloons.

    HE STOLE MY BALLOONS!

WHY DIDN'T SOMEONE TELL ME HE HAD ON OF THOSE...THINGS!

    Bob, gun.

    (Shoots Bob)

Gonna need a minute alone here boys.

  • @XXLSSBBW This needs to be the top rated comment!!!

  • @BigJames666 Thanks. Hey have they released any pictures of Bane yet for the next movie, Bane is my favourite Batman villian.

P.S. I don't really care about this, but do you feel that Ra'z Al Ghul's daughter Talia should be in the next movie and not Catwoman?

  • @XXLSSBBW what?

  • @startrekgirl258 I am aware that I forgot the 'e' at the end of 'on'

  • 3:39 i get a tear in my eyes every time, I see the scene in my mind. viki is in the Bat Cave and they have the convo where she say "why won't you let me in, why?" and he says "you got in". That scene is so vivid in my mind, more so than the rest of my childhood

  • @TheBigREDgrin Me too i love that scene and the scandalous Prince theme playing in the background

  • check out my Batman vids too

  • Oh hell yea EPIC EPIC AND EPIC!!!!

  • "you wouldn't hit a guy with glasses would you?"

  • have YOU ever danced with the devil under the pale moon light???

  • if you listen to a lot of composer music, you can find an instrument that he or she prefers....i think in this one is the xylophone....

  • @Luisdanieltv it's actually a glockenspiel

  • @psychopiano I prefer the crockenspiel

  • I kinda find it funny they signal the batman with a giant signal over the city that, even people outside Gotham can see, I mean, they can just follow it and ambush him(Villains) OR, they could just look out for him once they saw it in the sky LOL, or just not do what they were going to that night.

  • @MizzBonitaNana true... but then they may call off their scheme every single time they see it which would set the villains back over time and time again, besides in the movies i believe some of them didn't believe in Batman as he kept himself under the radar at most times, let us hope Dark Knight rising will be great!! :)

  • This bat logo will always live as the original, but funny enough, the new bat logo without the oval border is actually the original...either way, a they're both cool!

  • Elfman you magnificent bastard!

  • It is good, but I prefer Hans Zimmer composition for Batman Begins. More moving and intense. I have also been much more of a Superman fan, but Batman Begins made me become a Batman fan too.

  • @ParaTroll

    go troll somewhere else.

  • @ParaTroll Danny Elfman > Hans Zimmer, IMO. Batman >>>> Batman Begins and The Dark Knight as well.

  • @MrUKFORLIFE Thanks God thats an Opinion <3

  • @xXxDarkWolfxXxz Ha ha ha !!

  • @MrUKFORLIFE thats not an opinion, thats a fact

  • @ParaTroll your being sarcastic.....right?

  • @starjake18 Why would you think I am being sarcastic? Danny Elfman is good and did a brilliant job with the Mission Impossible OST. Hans Zimmer did a brilliant job with the Batman Begins OST.

  • @starjake18 although I admit Danny Elfman's version is more fun. HZ's version is dark and intense, a more broody Batman, if that is possible.

  • @ParaTroll well can't argue with u, it's your opinion anyway

  • Its funny, this old batman movie, was ten times better than the new future Batman.

  • Comment removed

  • " I made you, you made me I mean how childish can we get?" "you wouldn't hit a guy with glasses would you"

  • @Colossus3999 It's so stupid, so silly, I love it! Jack Nicholson wins.

  • i just love the hans zimmer score in batman!! but this is classic ,,it will stay the best batman score

  • Why doesn't Batman ever DANCE anymore?

  • @R8erNation636 it was a 60s thing for the "bat dance' and a tv thing

i dont think he did it in the comic and it would be out of place to do it in the modern batman movies

plus if there was gona be a bat dance, bale would look bad, only one batman could pull it off and thats michael keaton

would'nt be awesome if keaton was a bad guy in a future film....even if he was to die within 5 mins of showing up lol

  • this would be a great marching band show....

  • this is a remake of the first original song, you can tell by the bell and the tune, they must have did a second version

  • Tim Burtons Batman movies were the BEST!!!

  • @Ladylicios This is truth. Tim Burton gave them that German Expressionist touch. The other Batman's didn't have any flavor.

  • @shondelf

Do you think the new Batman movies were an improvement over those lousy Schumacher movies?

  • @Johnlindsey289 dont you maen stoole- maker? lol

  • @ghosttrain2066 well i dont get it , i didnt think batman forever was that bad , it had a nice plot , good actors. It's just cause of batman and robin ( aka batman n floppin') that everyone thinks schumacher messed up.

  • @collin341 I supose you are right he did make Lost boys in the 80s he had some great ones .I guess having the boy blunder as the Joker would call him did not help.

  • Elfman's score's to "Batman" & "Batman Returns" are by far the best of all Batman music. Including the Animated Series theme.

  • This batman movie.. one of the last great Super Hero movies... in the era when warner bros was at its best, todays batman is... well... good but.. just another action movie.

  • @08376

What do you think of the X-Men movies, Iron Man movies, Spider-Man movies, Blade movies, Thor etc.? all good Marvel movies. What about Watchmen? a quality DC movie for adults

  • the American Beethoven, Bach, Vivaldi, thank you Danny

  • @jaggersinc Well Said! Long live Elfman's music!

  • Danny Elfman makes any pedo in tights fighting middle aged bearded men paid by sadistic Drag Queens look good. He makes them look phenomenal

  • THE ORIGINAL BATMAN THEME

  • Why is this the batman theme? simple:

    1. It was used in the Batman animated series back in the 90's

    2. some batman games even to this day use this theme such as LEGO Batman

    3. It's still played at 6 flags new england as part of the dc island with the the batman show

    4. It's the most recognizable Batman theme ever

    5. It IS Batman

  • i've put this in my player and i'm playing it while walking especially when im late. it makes me alert and fast like batman lol. morning music

  • Yeah, I don't think comparing Elfman and Zimmer is fair. They have two different styles and they are both my favorite composers. New line of films, new music composer. Get over it.

  • INTENSE.

  • The Dark Knight score f****d the whole film up for me.

  • @moshinoblade

Because Hans Zimmer is the scourge of the the film soundtrack world. He isn't awful, but It's impressive how blandly mediocre he always is. Not to mention prolific! He just keeps farting out one dull score after another. Some movies don't deserve a great score, but it's always sad to see Zimmer's name attached to a good movie.

,,& I'm not biased here. I'm lukewarm to a lot of Elfman's scores too...but he's head & shoulders above Zimmer when it comes to sheer talent.

  • 3 people are completely retarded.

  • @Archedgar make that 4.

  • is stupid to say that this music could fit in in the current batman movies!, Elfman's music fit perfectly in the Burton's universe which is more fantastic and less real. Batman Bengins and TDK needed a music more realistic as if it were a real thriller movie and do not compare Nolan's batman with Burton's batman; the first one is for adults.

  • this sounds like a bat version of beetlejuice idk lol

  • weird. this one sounds a little different than i remember it to be...it's still fucking awesome, though

  • Danny Elman's scores evoke a very emotional responses from listeners....

  • Gracias Danny Elfman!...nada se compara con este tema !

  • Danny Elfman The Best!!!!Period!!!

  • damn if this was in the new batman, themovies would have more atmospheric sense, hans zimmer is so ... monotous

  • @capoeiraraven yeah....but at the same time gotta give zimmer his props the theme was basic but still pretty affective

  • @ww2historycrazy theme? what the HELL are you on about? what theme?

  • @havehope ?

  • @ww2historycrazy apart from the joker's theme(that really high ascending pitch on some string instrument) I felt like his score was fairly week. I mean there just wasn't enough character to it. There are parts of Elfman's theme that just bring me tears of joy. Maybe thats just me.

  • @capoeiraraven haha. Hans Zimmer is the shit. No one comes close to him.

  • Powerful music!

  • To me this is the perfect music for Batman...very dark, miserable and gothic...almost like Shostakovich, but also triumphant, heroic and marching.

  • @crieff405 Perfect description.

  • Though I really enjoy Hans Zimmer and james Newton Howard, However Danny Elfman captures the spirit, action, suspense and emotion of the movies...

  • This Score is really good.. The only other Batman score that matches this one is The Dark Knight. I mean, they're completely different (as well as the movies) but both work amazingly well in their respective context.

  • @diegofloor what about the score from mask of the phantasm, i mean it had music and iconic scenes noon of the live action movies could even try or imitate

  • The bells in 0:21 - 0:42 remind me slightly of the music they play right before the end credits in the TV show Avatar.

  • This score is easily what immortalized Elfman

  • Sounds like it's Russian Influenced

  • @axdy91 was just thinking the opening is very Shostakovich. Not too different.

  • This music is just so remarkable that no other batman score will outshine this one.

  • @bexdemi I totally agree,Michael Keaton is the Best Batman/wayne there has ever been and ever wil be and the 1989 movie was more than just a movie,it was a work of art and forever stands to me as the ultimate

    batman film.

  • @bexdemi

    Yes elfman is genius.

Although batman begins is a good film, the soundtrack isnt as memorable.

  • Zimmer is great but I'm not very impressed with his work on the Dark Knight. It just sounds like a helicopter with a hardly heard notes behind it...there's only like two minutes spread through the entire movie that make me like the music. But Elfman...I LOVE HIS MUSIC!

  • Zimmer is more of a character creation composer, he experiments with single sounds to create musical images of each character. Elfman is a composer that always comments on the whole picture all of the time. I find Elfman's music atmospheric and moving where as Zimmers music makes the listener feel uncomfortable (perfect for the joker). Both composers are suited to each Batman format, the 1989 batman which is my favorite built the whole perspective the new films are based on character creation
