Fantastic performance, George! It's hard for me to believe that someone your age could play this classical piece with such finesse. Are you possessed by Ludwig? ;-) Thanks for sharing with us :)
i didnt realize someone your age could play this movement. fantastic! ive heard it said that this movement is so involved, that even the old masters will always make a least one little mistake during performance. congratulations, its quite an accomplishment!
Oh George, it is great, which talent ! And you were only 13 years old ! Really, the value does not wait for the number of the years ! Bravo, bravissimo!
well... that's simply unbeliveable... It's almost as good as the glemser-version and much better than the kempf-version. And it's played by a little boy o.O
even though it was an old flim, I was touched by your playing and you played beautifully and emotionally. I hope that I will find your CD in the store in the future. Sooner!!!
Your playing reminds me of Wilhelm Kempf. Majestic. With all the other crappy versions of M3 out there, this version of yours, I can listen to ALL day. :)
George Li is a superb pianist and he already plays like a mature artist. Parents would be better off teaching their children music than driving them around in competing sports teams. This is education.
Congratulations, George, and my best to you! You are a winner!
technically amazing .. the speed is sometimes more than enough ... its lacking of emotions ... i wonder if you can learn to express emotions in a natural way of playing ... the mistakes are not that serious ... i wish i could play like you now but i haven't had the opportunity to learn piano at that age ... overall well done keep it up .... just my opinion
This is how the third movement of the "Moonlight" Sonata should be played. This is how Beethoven would have loved to hear it - on a modern grand piano not on the thin-toned piano of 1800 with knee levers to lift all the dampers at once.
@Whamesl0l Beethoven actually only went fully deaf late in life. It was a progressive thing though and he was paranoide about it ruining his reputation as a musician. It wasn't until he was fully deaf that it effected his performance at all and even then he could still compose.
suppleness in the wrists. it does not matter how big or long your hands are if they are not flexible. beethoven didnt have big hands he had short stubby fingers. its more about technique than the size of your hands
Wow! I just couldn't imagined that Beethoven could improve upon that - perhaps, only musically, he could give you some advices. Do you remember who was the teacher of the greatest virtuoso named Baiya in ancient China ?; maybe only he could inspire you further.
Now you've played so awesomelly one of my favorite pieces of all time !! And i think you're getting very, very close from the best versions of this song that i've heard here, in youtube.
You're gonna go far ! Keep up with the hard trainning and dedication !
The only thing more is amazing than this would be if he made his own piece that was about this speed as well. i would love that so much . He is downright the best pianist below the age of 20 lol
Great performance George!! Your playing seems to flow from your finger tips effortlessly! I"m jealous! lol! I am working on this piece but no where near ready to perform it! Wow what a tempo as well! Brilliant!!
Its so amazing its unreal, the kind of thing that brings tears to my eyes at the sound of it and I cant fight the tears no matter how hard I try. Its beautiful
I can't believe this only has 600 views. This is truly up there with Kempff's and Perahia's! Nearly flawless. Not many people on here come close to get this song down

I started this piece last week, could you please answer both of my questions?
1. The beginning, there is a section where you should hold the G#, and when it comes to the A, my hands are too little. What should I do?
2. How did you do the octave trill?
I love this interp, I listen to it over and over and over again. No doubt am I ever going to stop listening to it.
