  • Fantastic performance, George! It's hard for me to believe that someone your age could play this classical piece with such finesse. Are you possessed by Ludwig? ;-) Thanks for sharing with us :)

  • it´s really such a pleasure to hear you play!!! I wish you come to Germany on tour....

All the best and many greatings from Germany

  • TOTALLY JEALOUS. Oh well, maybe someday :')

  • You are the master of the classical music my friend.

  • This is sick! You rock dude!

  • I AM IN AWE OF YOU GEORGE ''ADORO'' MIO CUORE

  • jesus.

  • i didnt realize someone your age could play this movement. fantastic! ive heard it said that this movement is so involved, that even the old masters will always make a least one little mistake during performance. congratulations, its quite an accomplishment!

  • holy shit that is all

  • THATS NOTHING, LISTEN TO THIS *FARTS MINUET IN C WHILE PLAYING THE SPOONS*

  • asians and their superpowers

  • god...

  • Genius.

  • Oh George, it is great, which talent ! And you were only 13 years old ! Really, the value does not wait for the number of the years ! Bravo, bravissimo!

  • when words have no value ..... Respect ... is the only word that comes to my mind

  • BRAVISSIMO!!!

  • This kid is going to be a huge ass nerd when he grows up

  • Que talento!!! envidiable

  • very impressive, dear George ! the fingerings are very fluid and firm but smooth !!! a very high techique !!!

  • Meraviglioso, grazie.

  • i'm not into the whole classical music but this kid is realy good!!

how fast he playes with passion is just amazing for such a young kid

  • puts many pianists to shame :( (me especially)

  • Tell me George, what's your secret?

  • well... that's simply unbeliveable... It's almost as good as the glemser-version and much better than the kempf-version. And it's played by a little boy o.O

  • Extraordinaire !

  • Excellent !!!!!!

  • super..

  • even though it was an old flim, I was touched by your playing and you played beautifully and emotionally. I hope that I will find your CD in the store in the future. Sooner!!!

  • he must be a reincarnation of liszt or chopin or beethoven or someone. its the only possible explanation

  • you should totally play fantasie impromptu, thats the only crazy piece i havent seen you play yet

  • what's wrong with that little flat head?

  • The potential here is huge; another great performance!!

  • Your playing reminds me of Wilhelm Kempf. Majestic. With all the other crappy versions of M3 out there, this version of yours, I can listen to ALL day. :)

  • 10,000 views? this should have 10,000,000. srsly.

  • Ingredibile ! Fenomeno eccezionale ! Unico al mondo !

    B R A V I S S I M O ! ! !

  • Thank you God for this little GENIUS !!!

My favourite 3 mvt...:-)... played by a REMARKABLE KID !!!

    I was touched to tears...:-)

  • I started this piece last week, could you please answer both of my questions?

    1. The beginning, there is a section where you should hold the G#, and when it comes to the A, my hands are too little. What should I do?

    2. How did you do the octave trill?

I love this interp, I listen to it over and over and over again. No doubt am I ever going to stop listening to it.

  • How old is that kid?

  • I think George was 13 when that was recorded. He is 14 now.

  • WOW!!!!! AMAZING - AMAZING - BEAUTIFUL - .... -

  • George Li is a superb pianist and he already plays like a mature artist. Parents would be better off teaching their children music than driving them around in competing sports teams. This is education.

Congratulations, George, and my best to you! You are a winner!

  • technically amazing .. the speed is sometimes more than enough ... its lacking of emotions ... i wonder if you can learn to express emotions in a natural way of playing ... the mistakes are not that serious ... i wish i could play like you now but i haven't had the opportunity to learn piano at that age ... overall well done keep it up .... just my opinion

  • Wow! you are the greatest!

  • Very good! Only Kempff and Barenboim are better!

  • he's too good for julliard.

  • Wow!!! i just started this piece and i love it! George you are amazing!!!! :D BRAVO!

  • well ......that´s beyond skill ......he was born to play it .... if he can write new ones hes a new bethoven ^^

  • @Geringverdiener Theres no such thing as beyond skill .. i could learn that easily but 3 of my fingers are permanently broken :D

  • This is how the third movement of the "Moonlight" Sonata should be played. This is how Beethoven would have loved to hear it - on a modern grand piano not on the thin-toned piano of 1800 with knee levers to lift all the dampers at once.

  • @gerardbedecarter But Beethoven couldn't hear, but I get where you're coming from lol

  • @Whamesl0l Beethoven actually only went fully deaf late in life. It was a progressive thing though and he was paranoide about it ruining his reputation as a musician. It wasn't until he was fully deaf that it effected his performance at all and even then he could still compose.

  • @SharmaYelverton I know haha :')

  • very awesome!

  • A wonderful, wonderful performance !!!

  • George Li, es ist immer wunderbar, dich zu hören!

Weiter so! - Diese Feinheit, diese Sensibilität! :-)

  • George, I hope you will write a book someday. A question for now, I would really like to know when you first realized you loved the piano.

  • HOW the HELL does he do the octave trill like its nothing?...

geez...my hands can reach a 9th comfortably and i still cant do it like he does.

plus, his tempo is twice as fast as mine o.o His finger stamina is incredible.

  • suppleness in the wrists. it does not matter how big or long your hands are if they are not flexible. beethoven didnt have big hands he had short stubby fingers. its more about technique than the size of your hands

  • quien carajo le enseño a tocar a ese niño, es demasiado bno para ser tan joven, me esta asustando

  • de verdad te digo que he visto mejores, espichar teclas no quiere decir que se toca bien.

  • Excellent! I failed to learn this piece. I think I have no enough manual dexterity.

  • Good, but can you play Rachmaninov ? :)

  • Actually there's quite a lot of passion in this one.

Accuracy was a bit wobbly in places, but overall a nice enough rendition.

  • nice

  • ever get bloody fingers lol

  • George, I have listened to you play so many times on YouTube.. I hope to hear you in person someday. You're really great.

  • This child already played most of hardest sonatas i know

  • i love your crescendo at the end

    you're a child prodigy

    bellisimo

  • Wow! I just couldn't imagined that Beethoven could improve upon that - perhaps, only musically, he could give you some advices. Do you remember who was the teacher of the greatest virtuoso named Baiya in ancient China ?; maybe only he could inspire you further.

  • great`~^,^

  • bravo!

  • non mi piacciono le scelte musicali; cmq hai talento!

  • What an envy!

  • That's awesome...

  • George,youre the best.

  • you're depressingly good

  • george i feel like you deserve a place up there with the greats like Kempff and Gould :OOOO

  • You are so much better than dadbird,

Its justs so amazing how someone your age can put so much emotion it this hard piece your are truly Givted by God

  • 5/5 *****

Now you've played so awesomelly one of my favorite pieces of all time !! And i think you're getting very, very close from the best versions of this song that i've heard here, in youtube.

You're gonna go far ! Keep up with the hard trainning and dedication !

  • he's a god in piano lol

  • Get this kid Julliard STAT! They should actually pay him to study in North America. He's amazing, so much better than Lang Lang...

  • He's American, so he's already studying in North America. :)

  • The only thing more is amazing than this would be if he made his own piece that was about this speed as well. i would love that so much . He is downright the best pianist below the age of 20 lol

  • It's not like speed is everything, but have to say people don't thend to compose fast pieces now (odd).

  • For some reason I like the recital version more.

  • 1:54 fav part

  • I cannot imagine such a young boy channeling such emotion into this piece. He is truly gifted.

  • holy mother of god...

i have no words to say how good this is.

  • i cannot believe my eyes. you got to be one of the best performer for this century in the future when you grow up.

  • I agree with you...His hands are so magic....I cannot believe too...

  • Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great, I love this song

    Paul

  • wow, super!!!

  • sei spettacolare

  • OMG you are worlds next best pianist

  • Great performance George!! Your playing seems to flow from your finger tips effortlessly! I"m jealous! lol! I am working on this piece but no where near ready to perform it! Wow what a tempo as well! Brilliant!!

  • He is new little Mozart. I can´t believe it. I see notes of this piece and my heart stopped. You´re really genius George. I wish you good luck!

  • amazing! im speechless!

  • Excenllent profemance

  • very nice wow how long do you play the piano ?

  • He is truly the incarnation of Beethoven himself!

  • Most amazing Child Prodigy!

  • Its so amazing its unreal, the kind of thing that brings tears to my eyes at the sound of it and I cant fight the tears no matter how hard I try. Its beautiful

  • Ohhh bravissimo :)

  • I can't believe this only has 600 views. This is truly up there with Kempff's and Perahia's! Nearly flawless. Not many people on here come close to get this song down

I am absolutely blown away at this kid's precision, emotion, and flow. Unbelievable.

  • wow très jolie,beautiful.

  • Bravo!

  • Fantastic! Beautifully detailed!

  • Fantastic - as ever. I wish I had a fraction of your talent.

  • It looks like you've got your future profession cut out for you... as to the performance, I think you should try to slow it down only enough to notice--it's rather quick to digest, perhaps not to performer but do not forget the spectator; such is the other half of performance!

  • No doubt: Ludwig approves!

  • How do you do it? That's what I want to know. You're great.

  • You have one heck of a future ahead of you amigo.

  • Bravo!!!!!dear George,

Speechless, you are really incredible at your age to play this sonata movement 3. and i know your mentor is 偉大的鋼琴家殷承宗老師。我非常敬佩殷老師彈奏《黃河鋼琴協奏曲》,氣勢磅礡、撼動人心。

  • al 1:08/1:09 creo que le debe haber dolido mucho, mas con la tremenda obra que toca el mini genio xP

  • This is great

  • great

  • You sir, are amazing! :D

  • Magical

  • awesome man i love it.

  • lovely~

  • very beautiful!
