@methodistgirl Actually, potatoes originated in South America and was bought to Europe by the early explorers. Potatoes were adopted by the Irish as a food staple because it grew so abundantly on Irish soil. Ironically, it was the potato blight that drove the Irish out of Ireland during the Great Famine.
