Well I'm not gonna be a complainer like the rest of the commentors, I think you did a wonderful job! The detail is amazing. It doesn't matter about the girth. People complaining about "Why did you copy the colors from the photo? Why didn't you pick your own colors?You're just copying from a photo." Well, I would like to see them do such a great job as you did. I wish I could do this. Salinero is a beautiful horse and you captured that brilliantly! Well done and you should be proud of your work!

But when that is said ... it's a shame you don't use it to draw your own lines and pick your own colors instead of picking them from a photo. It's easy to do a photo replica - I could do it too - but it's not true art you can be really proud of, since it's just a copy ...

@416tayjay To you it's a tiny detail, to me it's a crucial part of the drawing. Especially considering it is portraying a real horse and rider. If you think saying "you forgot the girth =\" is mean, you're going to have a really hard time dealing with "mean" people in life. I took the color reference straight from the reference photo, I know he is dark bay but when he is working he gets sweated and looks darker. If the "why is he black" question is meant to actually be "why do you think he is black" I did not paint him black because I thought he was black, I know what color Salinero is but this was the color of the photo I was looking at.

Yes. But you also used the same exact picture. I understand why you do that, all great artists need a ref picture. But use two or three (or even more!) to combine them all together to make your own unique one. Also, develop your own style just by drawing horses with out a picture. Great job btw. C:

Well I have accused MANY times of copying and it's annoying that no one can accept that you CAN be this good. But I got all the colors for the painting from the actual pic with the eyedropper tool, that's why they look so similar.
