The performance of MM and EJO made the show what it was. The fact that their love was allowed to develop over time added to the intensity of it. There will never be another couple on TV like them. Bear’s music only added to the beauty of what we saw on screen. And you captured it perfectly.
I will never forget these two characters, first because of the actors and second because this music.
BTW, over 20,000 viewings-AMAZING!!! Shows the caliber of your work.
@adarosbsg60 You are too kind. I suppose the vid has so many viewings because it's one of the first that pops up when people search for Roslin & Adama. ;) Anyhow, I agree. I think the slow and honest development of their relationship is what sold it to me. As for Bear, he's genius, 'nuff said. ;) Thanks for your comments!
"I laid out the cabin today. It's going to have an easterly view. You should see the light that we get here, when the sun comes from behind those mountains. It's almost heavenly. It reminds me of you." - Admiral William "Bill" Adama.
The gentle compasion that these two found by the end of the show would not have been so memorable without this song. This song SOUNDS like love, and you did a good job with putting together a video that showed that.
I think Bear was inspired by a lot of good composers. I think that BSG would not have been nearly as compelling without the incredible score. I think the score is what brought viewers into the show instead of just being voyeurs.
A series is often shaped by the score it uses. BSG is / was fortunate to have Bear McCreary. If they simply MUST have a sequel / prequel to BSG, I'm frakking glad that McCreary is on board ! & hopefully he'll do the score for " The Plan "
Very nice music ! I love Bettlestar Galactica and I love Roslin and Adama . What a pity Roslin dies at the end of the final episode. When Roslin dies , this music is played. Very moving , it makes us cry ! Poor Adama , Roslin was a very nice woman she was one of the important caracters in the serie, and Adama loves her.
I love this tune, but did this guy copy Hans Zimmer's "leave no man behind". I'm not bashing this guy, but the songs are very similar. There is just something about this song that is amazing! BSG is a classic.
@ajD4bmw: wow. you're right. The Zimmer piece DEFINITELY inspired this one. I do however think this song comes into its own. The Zimmer piece is more overtly irish-sounding. This is just powerful and dramatic.
Oh it won't be, Battlestar Galactica was far too successful. The Plan comes out in the fall and I guarantee it wont be the last thing either - NBC Universal squeezes money out of anything it can lol
Though not the focus of BSG the romance between Roslin and Adama is told so powerfully that I think it is one of the best love stories ever portrayed on screen
The fantastic music by Bear McCreary makes sure that we notice. Fantastic video 5 stars.
Gah! The scenes from the opening of s3e1 [I totally forget the name of it...Occupation?] & then the end of Exodus fit beautifully to Adama & Roslin the way you've timed them. Those particular scenes never really caught my eye during the episode, but they are so perfect in your video.
Thank you for sharing! As if the song wasn't heartbreaking enough already!!!!
Strange thing is that while I was watching these episodes, I always thought of Adama as simply doing his job in rescuing the people on New Cap, never thinking about the feelings he harbored for Roslin in the back of his mind.
This is amazing. I don't get any weird lines. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough. but there is some skipping with Laura in her cell. Did I say this was amazing. I love them.
Still love this movie eventhough I watched it about 6 times intensively (which is a lot for me). The scene at 1:25, from which episode is that again. Could someone help me out on that?
Thanks for sharing! I just love those two together and the video is very nice. Good editing, and yes, youtube is a bitch sometimes when it comes down to quality.
Your vid is really VERY well done!!! I've been hoping they would make go a little further into Adama and Roslin's relationship on the show this season - your vid reminds me of why ;-) Very quiet and intimate at the same time...loved it!!!
Me too. According to the Ronald Moore podcasts, they have been trying to go deeper in their relationship, so that will be cool when that finally becomes apparent.
Love the song, love the editing, love the characters! *sigh* Nice job. My favorite is when the music changes to the more upbeat, hopefull part near the end. I like that you used Roslin back on Colonial One, and then the progress of their relationship in season 3. Thanks for posting!
I thought I had already replied to you. Either my comment vanished, or I'm plain stupid. Anyway, thank you so much for the detailed feedback! I'm glad you like the vid. :)
Yes, I know what you mean. That was what I intended to do, plus showing the "circle" (all of it will happen again, hm? *g*). Thank you once again so much for commenting! :)
You really summed up the whole subtext of what's going on between those two. Great job. I feel your pain. YouTube always sacrifices quality. I hate watching my vids on it, but it's worth it since lots of folks, like me get to see it and appreciate it, who might not otherwise.

Excellent video, excellent piece of music (my favourite from all four CDs), and an excellent television programme. Epic.

Battlestar Galactica is worlds away from anything to come on TV. The only close to it is The Shield and that is still long ways from this Show
3 of my favorite songs i've discovered through BSG and i love this song 2
Bear McCreary - The Shape of Things to Come
Bear McCreary - Passacaglia
Philip Glass - Metamorphosis One
My favourite Music video is on my page.
