Who directed that video? It was awful.
The footage in the street was interesting and original(a Bowie trait) and the music is WONDERFUL but his videos are terrible.

bowie might have been able to figure out his sexuality much earlier if he'd watched the footage of this vid a few times over of him being kissed by the gent and then being kissed by the girl... compare his reactions, hes clearly enjoying being kissed by the girl a lot more!

Really? I just cant see that at all...i guess we all see different things...its just he turned out to be straight afterall & as said to me it sorta looks like hes kinda not really going with the guy kiss in the vid but when the girl kisses him he just looks like he totally relaxes & wants more...but anyway maybe im just a bit sad to have put so much effort into forming a strong opinion about it :L but i couldnt help it - bowies so beautiful as u know!...btw luv the pic of him on your background

It might just be that he wasn't attracted to the guy that he was to kiss in the video but he was at least somewhat attracted to the girl? It's entirely possible that it could be the specific people, not their gender. Just my 2 cents on the matter.

The way it looked to me was, he pushed the girl away. And the guy, he kind of went with it. Not that there's anything wrong with it.

My impression that it's a NYC street where anything goes while filming. He doesn't know anyone of these people and the two black guys were just hogging the limelight with Bowie being the nice guy not telling them to back off a bit.

I love this guy. He is as old as my mom but I think he is so cute, smart, and straightfoward. Did you ever see pics of his son? He is cute and a doctor of Philosophy too.

He is. How old are you? I am 43 and even my 17 year old daughter likes him and so does my mom who is 63!!! My three other cuties died, unfortunately, Dennis Wison from the Beach Boys, Ricky Nelson, and Christian Brando. Thank God we still have David. Iman is a lucky woman.

i'm 18. i wish i was alive in the later 60 to follow all bowie's career while it was all happening, the 70s must have been so amazing. but it doesn't matter, after all, bowie's music is ageless. and yeah, iman is a VERY lucky woman hahaha

It was. I also loved the Beach Boys with the Wilsons in. You are about my daughter's age. I saw a Bowie concert back in 1983. I was 17 then and it was amazing.

Why was I thinking Duncan was a filmmaker? I know very little about his son and don't think I have EVER seen his picture. Bowie did a great job of keeping his son out of the limelight.

He is a filmmaker, but I read where he has a doctor in Philosophy. Yea, That is probably why we don't hear about Duncan carrying on like some of these celeb kids.

I absolutely agree. I love this song. It's like all good Bowie, you like it when you first hear it, but the more times you play it the more you seem to hear - and the more things you find to like about it.
The Adrian Belew guitar section is genius.

you kno if bowie wasn't so immensely talented i would hate his ass for being a fag git...but is only because of the fact he is a genius and i happen to love his music growing up...he is the only man that i seen im my 38 years that i would even consider respecting for being a true fag...anyways this a great song and i hope mister bowie never dies or at least his music doesn't :)

Have you ever noticed the similarity in facial features between early David Gilmour and Leo Di Caprio? It's pretty startling.

The coat used to belong to film director John Maybury,
then to Kenny Morris , the drummer for Sioxsie and the Banshees, for then lent to Willy Brown , who designed the clothes for the DJ and Fashion videos and included the trenchcoat , who then lent it to me.
The coat resides in a trunk in North London.

I just read my old comment from 8 months ago and I must have been drunk. I was 9, maybe 10 when I first saw this. I don't remember where I was, but I remember seeing it and being really disturbed and excited by it, which is what good art does. Honestly, I think it had a great impact on me deep inside and yes, I'm bisexual and wish I was in a time before AIDS, Herpes, and G.W. Bush. I've oft' said that were it not for climate and condition I'd be much more free. God Bless David Bowie!

i wasn't trying to make everyone aware of it. actually, in my day to day life, i keep it quiet. i was only trying to say that the video moved me deeply and still does. the days of 'troling the streets and getting what you're looking for, are over. gay, straight or otherwise.
