  • Why would people dislike this video??

  • Wow this was a great tip, I know I will see a difference. I was doing it wrong all the time. Thanks much!!

  • sooooo Happy I found you. Awesome, valuable tips!

  • I'm on Accutane so would my best bet be to continue using a powder brush to apply powder rather than the puff?

  • but with a flat top brush? how do we apply powder with one? :-?

  • youre cute

  • oh my, I feel pretty darn ridiculous now :( hahaha :) You're so awesome!

  • Ure the Booommmb <3

  • hmm... i basically do press my powder on with a brush, but not the way he does it. what i do is i load up the brush, tap excess off, then press the tips of the bristles onto wherever any liquid/cream product is, rather than how he press the entire length of the bristles on the skin. am i doing it right?

  • yay! i have been doing it right! i never had anyone show me how to do makeup when i was growing up so i would sit for hours in my bathroom with a magazine page for my look and practice over and over till i got it as close as the picture as possible :P i guess it all paid off lol

  • wow I didn't realize that i have been doing it wrong the whole time!!!!!! thx a million :D

  • You are a master, i would love to be your make up model, greetings from Peru.

  • How would you recommend applying a mineral powder foundation (i.e Bare Minerals)? I like to use mineral foundation over my liquid foundation for extra coverage.

  • yup i was wrong... thank u for this vid..

  • This is so fucken smart!

  • ha ha i was so doing that...i quit now! thnks

  • i always wondered why my face looked odd straight after the blush thanks for the vid cutiee

  • hes cutee

  • Thx for showing the "proper" rolling technique (and explaining why it's the proper method). I'm a newbie to makeup and never "got" that part. (Yes, I was using the powder brush to apply powder--silly me!! LOL)

  • ooeeemggeeee another great TIP!.....your awesome...

  • Well, I'm off to buy a powder puff and quit my vigorous powder brush use. This explains why my concealer never quite conceals everything; I've been buffing it off with what I thought was "blending."

  • You are adorable!!! And thank you for being clear and to the point with sharing these helpful tips! Love from new York!

  • Okay I love you. Where have you been all my youtube life?

  • but you told us in another video to use a powder brush on foundation to make your pores dissapear...

  • So useful, thank you. you were right i have been doing it wrong for a LOOOONNNNNGGGGG time. x

  • Luv him!

  • I seriously feel as though you're my own personal makeup artist..!!!!! SO MANY LIKES!!!

  • hahhahahh i have been doing it wrong way

thanks a lot for your tips

  • I feel so dumb. I've been doing it wrong all my life...

  • I am one of those people who dipped my brush into powder and sweep it across my face, i will never do that again. I love you

  • thank you cos that's how i apply my powder

  • I'm guilty! But thanks for letting me know! I'll correct my mistake! :)

  • So, how about if & or when you use a mineral powder. Should I use the same technique you suggest here, or should I use the flat top powder brush as provided by the company, because I'm not sure, but I think moving the powder around my face for a more even coverage is hat I want. But I am willing to listen to your suggestions on the topic of mineral foundation. I use Mary Kay mineral foundation.

  • okay, serioulsy i'm in love :D

  • im in loveeeeeeeee

  • What I love about you is that your so super helpful and your get right to the point.

  • amazing vid! very helpful!! love it!

  • OMG I was applying my powder wrong THANKZ so mucho. Now on I'm going to do it! The right way -3

  • the most articulate, beautiful man I have ever seen on youtube.

  • Hi.You do not have to share these tips with us.But we youtubers, will forever be eternally grateful that you do.I personally have been applying my makeup wrong for years. And persons, such as yourself, have made it possible, for us amateurs,to get the best, out of our makeup application\techniques.Thanks ever soooooooooooo much.

  • Thank you thank you thank you!!

  • You are amazing!! Thank you for the amazing tips!!!

  • You are the only guru that has taught me something I DON'T know. I wish I'd discovered you sooner.

  • Yep, I've been doing that I admit it.

  • what about applying a light coat of bronzer all over? surely you dont press it in with a puff?

  • Your methods need too much time and uses too much product for an everyday look. Even though I have some redness/spot issues, applying powder never makes it come back. I use a tip by Michelle Phan and kind of stipple the powder on with the brush. That way I dont use too much product AND dont destroy my foundation. Takes seconds.

  • so glad I found you.

  • I have to say I was very confused to what the video was about. Powder brushes are for applying powder, right? But now I get it. I never use powder on my face, but if I ever want to I know how to thanks for him. Mindblown.

  • Thank you for this video. I teach the puff method at my school. I learned the "taco" method at MUD and have always used it.

  • Love

  • I wanna marry you 

  • I think I'm learning more watching your videos rather than actually even going to makeup school!

  • Brillant

  • you are actually amazing!!

  • and If I dont use foundation?? I can use my powder brush like I want? or there´s a correct way? D: ... Im new in this ... and I dont really like the heavy foundations u.u I only use powder to absorb the oil in my "T" zone ... nothing else.. whats better, a powder or a kabuki ?

  • Thank u so much for sharing. Just found you and to me you're videos are very useful.

  • OMG where have you been all of my life?!

  • Good to know, thanks you

  • you are a genius. can't believe it took so long to find you!

  • I use these techniques and my furniture is always so dusty. People always say that dust is 90% dead skin, not in my room!

  • Is this like another page for @givegoodface ?

  • You have helped me break so many bad makeup habits, thank you so much!

  • Seriously glad I found this! Thank you so much :)

  • I didn't know this, so now I know. thanks for sharing this information =)

  • Gee my fingers are tired from "liking" all of Goss' videos! Lol. Awesome tips and I'm hooked on his gorgeous face. :/ :)

  • oh xD I think for every gurus I saw did this

  • omg................been doing this wrong for years. i changed it and am now doing it the way you say and im noticing sucha difference THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

  • omg, well i have been putting powder on wrong for 10 years! haha thank you soooo much for showing me the right way, had to sub :)

  • Thanks! Very informative!

  • AWESOME! I've never bought translucent powder so now when I do, I won't do it wrong :D

  • YES. I have a puff with my new powder! Score me for me!

  • Oh my god, I've been doing it all wrong :(

  • Thank you very much! :)

  • thank you for your grate tutorials

  • I've never had a problem with a brush disturbing my foundation. Maybe if someone was scrubbing their face with the brush, but I don't see how a soft brush would knock of foundation.

  • @CInzerillo He showed it in a video and it was really cool. It was the video called HOW TO: CREATE A FLAWLESS FACE. :D

  • i have almost no idea what makeup brushes are for what purpose, everything i've learned about makeup has been from youtube. it was just instinct for me to use the big soft fluffy brush to gently flick away excess powder. glad my instinct was right! :)

  • I watched this before but now i use MAC Studio Fix foundation. Should I use the sponge in the case instead of a brush?

  • You are amazing. Thank you for sharing all these great tips. Love watching your informative videos!

  • You have the best tips! Thank you. :) I'm definitely subscribing. :D

  • this is so true!!

  • wayne, can you also apply powder with a sponge? does it work as well as a puff? reason i'm asking is because sponges are so much cheaper than puffs and i'm quite germophobic - i don't even use a brush for my foundation, just a fresh sponge.

  • @JuliGrace21 DO NOT use a sponge to apply powder creams and liquids yes, but not powder. you can buy a good powder puff and just stick it in the washer.

  • Thank you so much! (:

  • Never realized! Thanks :)

  • I use the puff method. Finally I'm doing something right. Yay!

  • Would it be the same thing for a mac mineralize skin finish?x

  • I have been doing everything so wrong. Thank you.

  • I feel that my skin looks older with powder, as well as dry and dehydrated :(

  • i just realized that i know nothing about makeup!!!!!!!!! thank you so much for all ur useful tips

  • Wow!!!! I'm so glad I found this! I'm so doing the puff method next time I put on some make up. Thanks!

  • you my friend are LIFE CHANGING thanks alot

  • i am so happy i found you, it should have been sooner

  • Wow....I've been doing it wrong all these years..!!! They always told us to toss out our powder puffs and use a brush. Your way makes complete sense. What about blush? Do we use the same technique with the brush? Dabbing it on instead of brushing? You're awesome, thanks..!!

  • thank's! :-)

  • you are amazing! Thank you!!

  • You are Awesome!

  • wow i just found you, and with a bunch on videos , I feel like I don't know anything about makeup or at least i know the bad things!! you're wonderful!!thank you for your useful tips

  • I prefer to be knocked up instead of knocked off...

  • Thanks for the tips

  • no wonder my cheeks would end up red looking just right after i covered the redness!

  • OMG thank you so much, again!! You're amazing =D

I'm just wondering if you would use the same method with powder and/or mineral foundation? Would the puff make the coverage too heavy?

  • Brilliant and simple, like all your videos. I wish you could do my makeup!

  • Thank you so much!

  • your freakin' brilliant!!! Never stop!

  • Wow.. Thank you for sharing your techniques ;-) cant wait to try it tomorrow!

  • omg i freakin love yooooou!!!! thank you!

  • Ha! I thought this was self explanatory. The blending motion moves everything around.

So much for self made Youtube Beauty Gurus all swirling their powder on lol.

  • OMG!!!! No wonder my foundation always dissapeared. Thank You Thank You Thank You!!!

  • i love you.....

  • this sounds great.. im going to try this in the morning :) and see how it goes :D

  • It's like a light bulb went off lol. Thanks!

  • How do u clean the powder puff? I have some & they can be a little pricey if you are using them on clients...

  • this works! I'm impressed, will try it out tomorrow when I'm at school to see how it goes...I think it's okay to put liquid type foundation over it, right? I've watched enough of his videos, I should know this! But, anyways, will probably save me $18.

  • says the guy who looks like an oompa loompa..your tips are good but you should really do something with that color match for your face, or your tips become less credible.

  • @americangrl55 I don't think he's wearing make up...

  • I love ur tips and videos! Thanks!

  • niiice thanks for all the info, i love your videos!! very great info and tips!

  • "facepalm" this is embarrassing. everyone on YouTube has taught me to just lightly sweep some powder on with a powder brush not a powder puff. I will definey be trying this method tomorrow

  • what about with PRESSED powder?

  • @mzlatinnnagurl same?

  • Learning alot! thank you soo much your tutorials will help me work out my DIY bridal makeup this december :)

  • I'm gonna go buy some puffs now

  • Well I feel stupid.

  • GUILTY AS CHARGED!

  • You're like a makeup god. :O

  • He is such a genius!!

This just might be my new favorite makeup channel on youtube. :)

  • and just for info, what do you say here works as well for any loose powder? I mean, what about the mineral makeup? Do we have to put it with the kabuki, or with a puff? I suspect it would be better with a puff after this video...thank you anyway!!

  • Wayne, have you got any idea of how much and why we love you so? One for all: you tell the truth. I'm "just" an addicted and I follow many many gurus on YT, and never-NEVER I heard before anything about the utility of the puff, just like it's an icon-object of the beauties of the '20s. And you being a man, you make us feel more than loved: you come into our everyday life and gives us the knowledge to boost our self-estimation, just saying "it's just makeup". You're amazing. I need a puff!!!!!!!

  • WOW I can't believe I have been applying my powder the right way I think thats one reason I didnt like mineral foundation it was "swooped" over my face not done correctly

  • "you know you're doing that" lol

  • oh your signature winks after every video. love it.

  • you awesome thank you so much for making time helping us out how to do a make-up propurly

  • He puts most "beauty gurus" on here to shame.

  • Is it possible to use this method to use the powder to "set" the makeup but also get a "dewey" finish?

  • u are very technical about makeup application, and i like it.

  • OH MY GOD. Okay so after stalking your channel for two weeks solid every day all day and watching your videos over and over, l went out and bought MAC studio fix, the assistant tested it on my face and then set it with powder.. SHE SET IT WITH A POWDER BRUSH BUT SWEEP IT ACROSS MY FACE TO SET IT.. SHE DIDN'T ROLL IT OR PAT IT OR ANYTHING.. Obviously being my timid and push over self l didn't say anything.. but it felt amazing being better educated in makeup than she was :D THANK YOU
