I'm doing a cross country ride with a couple of other guys in May. Should be passing through CO about 10-11 of May.
I was thinking of going from Montrose down US550 to CO 62 to Cortez. But, Google Earth showed
a picture of snow in June on CO62. Made me start to re-think that route. Any thoughts on going CO62?
@KeukaRyder Will be honest with ya, I've only been up here since December. That said, they tend to do a good job of keeping the roads paved, and though there will likely be snow on the slopes, the roads themselves should be nice and clear. At worst you'd be dealing with wet pavement but I really wouldn't be too concerned with snow and ice on the actual road come June. Am actually intending on taking my Jeep to Telluride come July to run down Black Bear Pass, an unpaved shelf road.
@KeukaRyder Next time mention the name Ken Morse. That's my old man, and I'm his son haha. We saw him back in I wanna say 06? at the P&C behind The Fox INN Bed and Breakfast in Penn Yan and shot the breeze for a few minutes. Dad has quite a few stories about Dan haha
Old man grew up with him and is a good friend of his. He emailed me this to expand my edumication lol
