Mulan is not a technical princess. Disney catagorizes her as one, but she is not. She's just the hero of China. but there are several princesses that are not included as Disney princesses thought they should be. Kiara from Lion King 2: Simba's Pride is the daughter of the Lion King, making her a princess. Kida from Atlantis was a princess. There's also Princesses Atta and Dot from a Bug's Life.

They are actual princesses but Disney doesn't consider them to be so they are never included.

For me, Mulan and Pocahontas are real princess, even without all this monarchic stuff, both shows valuable messages for the girls, both lives hard situations but always both are faithful to themself and their dreams and hopes.

I think being a Disney princess is more than live in a castle, have royal blood and use beautiful dresses.

I am black, and a male, and I hope they have another black princess or any other princess with a black prince. I loved growing up and watching disney movies. My favorite was Aladdin because at that time I thought Aladdin was most like me. I know now that Aladdin is Arabian, but at the time I thought he was black, and I wanted to be like him growing up. i just hope they have a black prince some day. They need a Latin princess 1st though to be equal.

If Pocahontas is a princess, then Tiger lilly should be from Peter Pan, there both indian princesses. Nancy (Enchanted), Kida (Atlantis) & Eilonwy (The Black Cauldron) were princesses in their movies and yet they're forgotten. But Tiana is one of my new favorites. i wish the video was longer and showed more.

i'm all for having tiana at disneyland - however, i thought it was a rule that all disney princesses have to have 'real' hair to qualify, and i wonder if that princess does...not saying it looks fake, just that it's really hard for black people to get their hair to look like that (i'm 1/2 black).... most celebs have weaves and stuff....
