  • Hey Lemonette,

As usual I am the tardy one. Love your videos, and an answer to your question, if I was asked that question, it meant that one of my parents knew about something I had done wrong. So when I got the are you behavin question it really meant get ready for a butt whoopin..

  • Hi Lemonette, I'm behaving, mostly.

  • LOL, yeah I was asked that all of the time, and when I became a parent I asked my kids the same thing and now I'm telling my grandson "You better be have" really not sure how u would spell that because I don't think it's a real word, I think we southerner's just made it up,LOL!

  • HAHA!!! Oh, man. I'm going to have to start saying that to people.

  • lol My parents and grandparents never said it, but my ex-boyfriend did. :)

Oh well thats what molded me into the man I am today, I can tear shit up in just a few seconds .... took me no time to tear up a computer.... lol....... luv ya rightback lemonetta

  • My parents never asked if I was being haved or if I was behaving. Actually they never asked much about anything. I guess it didn't matter much to them. Talk about dysfunctional.

    EdElisea 04/23/10

  • I know the country folks make up alot of words

  • Lol, my grandfather said that to me every now and then, but i never heard it after a while. I always heard, wat kinda trouble are u gettin into?

  • Yes Ma'am....we are totally being-have' while we watch your vids!

  • I don't want any part of this behaving stuff...hehe

  • Nope, not bein' have, and not gonna, either. I sure can't ruin my reputation this late in life.

Gotta say, though, that I don't think I ever heard it put quite like that. LOL

  • I am bein' have.. ;) Hi Lemonette!

  • It sounded odd at first, but after speaking it out loud it made perfect sense. Never question Grandma!

  • I'm going to start using this expression! I like it.

  • i love all your videos. you're hilarious! and no i never heard that specifically... my mom is from aiken, sc so ive def heard a lot of other stuff like that :p

  • my mama would say "play pretty"

  • I do what I can to be have? LOL. I was always told, Justin stop doing that! ;p

  • LOL...oddly enough, I've thought about this before...

"have" I guess is how you'd spell it. I don't even know what that is, muchless how to spell it or do it. too funny!

    mike

  • My mom told me that I shouldn't "ram around" that was probably my favorite.

  • That is all I do is "bein hav" :)

I need to find a little trouble to get into LOL

  • If parents or grandparents came from another country, that'll happen ALOT to "English" spoken in the house....

  • I Was ask that all the time as a kid, then I had my kids and found myself wanting to know if they were.lol

  • Unfortunately, our father was barely involved in our lives after conception; and our mother was either busy working in a factory to support herself and 3 kids, or she was too tired to keep after us. Considering we ""almost"" raised ourselves, we turned out OK even though we weren't always BEING-HAVE =)

  • Hey girl...I'm beinghave today! Don't know bout tomorrow! heeheehee

    HugZ sweetness!

  • Are you being have, I can still hear my late Grandmother asking me that. Good Memories! BTW, love your videos.

  • I just love you! You always make me smile :)

    Hugs from the Netherlands

  • oh my lands yes.LOL this was so funny made me laugh.

  • According to my best friend his dad would make up isms and words all the time. He had no clue where his Dad got them from lol!! One was he would call bologna horsecock. He would say I am going to make myself a horsecock sandwich or do you want a slice of horsecock on your sandwich too? LOL

My Granddad would make up things too, he decided when I was a teenager that he would call me Sam and I would call him Sue. That was the farthest thing from our names I could ever think of. Loved him.

  • hahaha yesss!

  • do you live in your car?

  • Yeah thats common hear around country foke it means are u behaving .

  • Maybe it's a split infinitive: being have, to boldly go etc.

  • Oh, funny stuff! :)

Nope, they've never asked me that.

  • That's the first time I've ever heard that expression!

  • Yes my mother asked that question. There are lots of words that my family made up..

  • I'm going to have a talk with myself. I need to behave.

  • No I never heard that one.

  • oh yes...... now that brings back memories

  • When I have the hiccups, I never say "I'm hiccupping," I always say, "I'm hickin-up." Whoops.

  • Up I Hic

  • All the time!

  • no not for a lot of years lol

  • Oh my gosh yes, my parents and grandparents would say that to me when I was a kid. Now they say it to my kids.

  • I heard that the other day in the hospital. I find it very funny every time I hear it!

  • :) I've never heard that. I like it though. :) I just started watching your videos, I think you're wonderful and a neat way of looking at things. A bright spot in the day. :) Thanks so much!

  • I never heard that. I just heard the air being cut in half from the long hard swift hand of the Mom law.

  • Hey there Lemonette! My mama and daddy never asked that but my grandma did. When we would go to visit the grandparents in North Carolina we would have a family reunion and us kids would be playing in the front yard and grandma would yell out the kitchen window "are you kids bein haive?"

  • Nope. Mine used to say, "Are you behaving?" ... LOL!

  • Hey lady...I have heard that phrase before. Tony told me he wants to try to get up here sometime this summer....so you need to tell him to pick you up:)

  • yeah i heard that alot, and i never was beinghaveing neither,((smiles))

  • Nope - that's a Southernism for sure. And unfortunately, these days, I usually am.

  • I love your "Southernism" vids :-)

People up north always find it funny the phases we have hehe

  • yeah, and to make it worse...no I do

  • lol yeah, they have actually lol.

  • Yes Ma'am, my Mama and my Granny both said it. Mama makes up words all the time, its fun to mess with her for doing it:-)

  • that s a new one too me :)

    Peace, ace77man

  • My granny in NC when I was very young.....

  • First time I ever heard that, I told my 10 and 6 year old to behave and the 6 year old said "We are being hav, Mommy." Heck, I thought she invented it. When I was a toddler, my mom would ask me when was I going to behave and I would say "Friday!" She thought I was clever, too -- hahaha!

  • I never got that word but i used to get hoverhonder instead of over yonder and a few others like that i still say hoverhonder alot without thinking and ppl just stare.

  • I have heard that form of the word before....BEEN A LONG TIME, though....Good to see you again!!!!!

  • behaving..? haha.. my folks said... behave yourself.. another one was....don't tell everything you know... gotta love memories.......

  • hahaha my grandmother use to say the same thing. I had no idea was "hav" was so i didn't know if i was being it or not. LOL

  • YAY!!! You're back again!!! Don't know where it came from but I got asked too...and my reply was always 'always', lol!
