i love the way the soloist sings. im a boy and im in soprano and i thought i was gifted... but she is...way better than me. btw, im 18 and my voice hasnt broken!
Enjoy your voice just as God gave it to you. Improve on your native inclinations. I have 4 boys who can sing soprano still, even though they now have their man voices. If you keep singing, you can keep the high voice, too, is my opinion. But, then, I never had any really bass-voice boys in my family, only tenors.
@klous40 not anymore, it lowered a bit and my highest note is E5 with falsetto, my voice never really cracked like others- just lowered a bit when im 14, 16 and now.
I first heard this song by the choir from Rex Putnam high school in Clackamas Oregon and it choked me up. So good to be reminded that we are not alone. If it seems like it, it's because I am neglecting God, not the other way around. This young woman has very good intonation, a beautiful instrument and gift. I like this slower version, some, including the one recorded by Pepper Choplin come in at around two minutes. Thank you for this beautiful rendition.
I am an alto and I want the part, but I am not sure how to get the high notes correctly.

Our choir did it the best I think! Taking into consideration this group up there is like the entire high school!
