What a very nice car! Why doesn't VW come out with a Tiguan hybrid diesel? Why is this diesel engine not available in the United States? With the Jetta 40/60 mpg, & the massive number of people ditching their SUVs, why isn't VW jumping on this cash cow? Are the Arabs bribing the VW execs too?

Unfortunately, we can probably only blame ourselves. Europeans have been driving diesel for years, driving compact cars instead of large SUVs and riding their bikes. They've been doing it because gas prices have long been as high as they are becoming here. Unfortunately, it takes time to completely adjust a product line, especially when americans continue to buy large SUVs and sending a mixed signal to auto makers. Unfortunately, auto makes tend to be reactionary instead of revolutionary...

Actually, it is because of radical environmentalists putting strict emission mandates on diesel putting all car companies 5 years behind on diesel-powered vehicles. While we get 20mpg with $4 gas, they fly around in their jets and say it is the oil company's fault.

I just test drove one with the DSG - I'm sold! It really feels fast, has a beautiful interior, and gets 40 mpg average. Writing my deposit check today.

I test drove the TDI today. It was awesome. I even liked the DSG and I'm a manual-only kind of guy. :)

My dealer just got one of these. What an amazing piece of technology! The only time VW's are this quiet is when their on the hoist!

The new-gen DSG in this thing is smoother than the GTI's current DSG. I cannot stress how cool this thing is!

I just drove one Last Night . Very torky. Takes off like my 2005 2.5 Jetta. The seats are a little firmer, they really hold you more. I feel the car has a stiffer suspension, holds the road well. No more throttle Lag. Slight turbo lag below 1.5k rpm 2K and above. it really pulls you along. I was doing 60mph in no time.
