You have to get shots to protect yourself and other kids. If you don't get them, everyone can get really sick. THe thing is, why the hell are there 5 shots?!?! When I was going into Kindergarten, I only had to get 2 shots!! They mixed all of the vaccines into those 2 needles so it was easier. That's like when my friends go overseas, they docs mix the vaccines so they only need 1 shot instead of...10 lol

What kind of parent films their child getting medical procedures? Even something as simple as needed vaccinations for a child can be very traumatic for them. Well, when he sees this later on, he will get his revenge on you. Nursing homes are a bitch.

I pulled all of my children and started homeschooling again. I hate how they try to control everything that we do with our chilldren...and they say its a free country. My children never had to go to school or get shots until I became sick and couldn't homes school. All of you better be thankful for being healthy and to beable to make a choice.

Must have been a little behind in his vaccines. When I got mine for school is 1981 it was just the MMR vaccine and remember it hurt like hell. The vaccines are not as painful, but kids get far more now. I think there should be a 3 shot limit per visit just because so many at once freak the kids out.

ingections are my worst fear ..hate them!! i have a few comming up so i try and calm myself by watching vids and your boy is sooooo brave for his age, he would cry it must have been painful but he did very well ...... i don't think i will be ale too take mine...worried ill pass out at school i have such a fear even though the injections are at school in year 8 and ill be turning 13 but its not long now till then :( im really scared...........well dont to your son :)

@TammyLoves2sing Everyone at my school was getting the swine flu shots. They actually did them IN school; in the library. I didn't get them because my parents signed something, but I went with my friends who were really nervous. They did fine, though. I actually asked my parents to let me get the vaccine, but they didn't think it was tested enough yet. Needles don't scare me. I think you'll do great! (If you didn't get them already!) =]

@Elisha6962 We homeschooled our children so there was no need for shots, I got sick and had to put them in the public schools, I knew that he was getting his shots, and I taped it to make sure that if anything happend to him from the shots I could prove how many he got at one time ( Im the kind of mom of 5 that keeps my little camera on me) Anyways I put it on youtube b/c his yay was sooo cute at the end,and PLUS I want all HSing moms to see this, needless to say we HS again!

You are totally right, but my POV was that he is getting 5 shots at one time, and I even asked if they could do them in a weeks time- but they told me it didn't need to be and that we would be fine. I taped it just in case something went wrong and he wouldn't be "fine". Plus the asked me to step out of the way because he's gtting them in both arms and they needed to do it as fast as possible.

I'll have you know my kids interact better now that they did when they were in school and in more postive ways with kid of all ages not just the little crosssections of kids thier own ages. They do community service projects are involved with scouts,sports,youth and Church activites as are MOST homeschoolers. Do your reasearch before passing judgement.

That's good because how are children going to deal with doctors if they don't know what the doctor going to do at the check up. Telling them helps them to feel calmer about a shot, and even showing them how easy it is.

That's not school, it's a drs office. It's not some big secret thing, just a regular medical visit and his mother is right there. Even if you don't plan to send your kids to school they still need medical care and they're bound to get a needle at some point.
