I still like TEN the best:) The sound of TEN is pearl jam for me. I also really like Eddie solo on into the wild. The other albums are good, but TEN just doesn't have any ''lesser'' songs on it, they're all masterpieces.

They had such a different feel in each era for so many reason, primarily on account of revolving drummers. They were basically five awesome bands over a twenty year span. This is great but the Jack Irons era is my personal fav.

I always say Pearl Jam is 4 bands.

Ten; Vs and Vitalogy; No Code and Yield; Riot Act ------>

They made great music in all of those periods, but in my opinion real pearl jam was between Vs and Vitalogy. Their songs had so much power back then.

You really feel the emotion in the first listen.

Dave was kicked out because he blew Eddie off the stage every show. Eddie's ego couldn't handle the drummer getting all the attention, so out with Dave and in with Matt. Matt is a good drummer, but he is laid back compared to Dave.

funny how things turned out. dave is now a married man...read a pretty sweet story about him e-mailing an old childhood sweetheart out of a whim and reuniting. he's probably mellowed out a lot now and i'm sure his perspective has changed a lot. would love to see him back in pearl jam. maybe it'll happen in a distant 20 years during their inevitable reunion tour.
