I don't know how Dutch people could say they don't understand this when my Mom does, and she isn't from the Netherlands either. She only heard Dutch growing up and hasn't spoken it since she wasa little kid, but she could tell me what the girl said. So, I expect people are greatly exaggerating when they say that they can't even understand it.

This actually is a child from Dutch parents born in the US (1939), so she probably spoke a bit Dutch at home. Her name was Marlene Lyden.
