Damn right and did you grew up with Weird Al too? me too since i was 6 i was into Weird Al music since i heard his Dare to Be Stupid song from Transformers the movie
@Johnlindsey289 Of course i grew up with Weird Al. His "Eat It" and "I'm Fat" parody videos are all time faves of mine. I also saw UHF twice in theaters as a kid.
Yup, i just uploaded the U.S. cut known as "Making Contact" here on Youtube in two parts and having the rest up later. Soon i will upload the uncut full German version "Joey" with an alternate score and different stuff which is the better cut.
had to be the 11th comment, however zero is a placeholder for 1, so ten is really 1 and 1, and 1 and one makes one 11. spiral out, scariest fckin dummy ever.
only nine comments, this really is a cult classic. scared the crap outa me as a kid, and ive been trying to tell everyone bout it, but i couldnt remember the name, luckily i stumbled upon it. nice finish with the song.
i managed to convince my parents to allow me to watch this when i was like 7 or something. I remember my mates parents saying how scary it was and i shouldn't watch it. i loved it & watched it a hundred odd times. Is it on DVD in the UK do you know? Thanks for posting this.
The Director and writer of the movie was making Germany's first special effects movie and decided to include some salutes to some of the recent U.S. movies that had come out....the movie includes nods to Star Wars, ET, and Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
In the Movie the Dummy was taking the children's deepest fears and making them real...the one kid was obsessed with Darth Vader (like many kids of that time) so that was the fear the Dummy made him face.
This movie also uses elements from "Dead of Night" (1945 horror anthology with an evil ventriloquist dummy), "Magic" (The anthony Hopkins horror flick), "The Haunting (1960)", "Poltergeist", "Scanners" and "Carrie". I think it's a well done horror fantasy flick with a dummy as scary as the dummy from "Magic".
Awesome video for an awesome movie.
