最近老弟查祖谱，发现远祖是江西吉安（古吉水）客家人， 永乐年间迁入湖南。 同时西迁的，还有毛泽东，朱德与刘少奇的远祖。 只是朱德的远祖迁的更西。

I returned a few years ago on a trip, and was amazed how industrious people are over there, how friendly too, but also proud of their Hakka heritage! You're right - all Hakka Ngin - unite!!! But I am living in Taiwan now, how different is the Hakka in Taiwan, compared to the Hakka in Hk?

I haven't met anyone here in TW that spoke Hakka yet.

My mother side of family is Hakka from Taiwan, and I believe Taiwanese hakka is very different from Hong Kong hakka, that, from my point of view, resembles a bit of cantonese, my father is from Hong Kong... so I hear cantonese or hakka quite often, besides mandarin.

I am very curious about HK hakka and Taiwan hakka, wish someone could post a video with the same sentences spoken in these two languages.

I guess it is in Miaoli, in Taiwan, where Hakka is very present.

Cantonese is a mix of ancient "Yayen" plus the local aborigines dialects. "Yayen" was the common language used pre-Qin dynasty, said to be used during Confucius time (~600BC)

and when Qin Zhi Huang mass migrated the ancient Chinese to the south, "Yayen" was left to evolved after the collapse of the Qin dynasty, not so influenced by the ancient Mandarin as used during the Qin dynasty, and later the Han dynasty, which then became commonly known as Han-yu.

Cantonese evovled from "Yayen" a language commonly used in pre-Qin dynasty even during Confucius time i.e about 2500years while Hakka evovled from ancient Mandarin used during Qin/Handynasties, and mixed with"She" dialet during Tang/Sung dynasties i.e about 1500+ years. Can't we just sit back and enjoy the song instead of arguing as to who is superior. I am sure we have had enough fighting already to an extend that our ancestors have decided to move on to look for a better life. Who ever is superior should only have the right to look down on another the other who have fallen to help him up. "looking down" so as to be able to see him/her and pick him/her up but not to add salt to the injury. By the way I am hakka and is trying to trace my roots.
