Oi, I was going to test out EVE with my 14 day trial, but my computer slowed down to a crawl up the hill, and it lagged horribly just at character creation! We're talking massive lag, as in, the character would not even load. Can anyone offer me some advice? A freelancer like myself would not want to miss something like EVE.

Most complex game in the world? lol Eve sucked, we had a 30 man gamer group that lasted a couple months before it got lame and we had to choose a new game. The single tactic in the game is to target the enemy and fire automatically till one of you dies.. yay! fun.

It looks like that because the display is zoomed out all the way, that's the only way you can manage fleet battles of 1000+ people. And the gameplay? cheap? EVE is infamous for being the most complicated and brutal MMO out there. So enjoy your laughably easy one-player games, stay away from EVE, you'd probably have a stroke if you tried it.

@gavilatius no problem but I must say that giving eve a try will take months if not years :) that's how deep the game is. On youtube check out evecopilot, they have awesome tutorials that will show you how deep this game really is. If you can beat the learning curve in eve you will absolutely fall in love with the game. I wouldn't even call it a game, it's so much more than that.

EVE has its good points, but it is more for number crunchers than anything. You alt+tab while mining an asteroid or traveling to a distant system. It's a very hands off kind of a game. It has a lot of depth, especially n its economy, but the dullness does hurt a great deal. There should be things you can do to improve yourself during your travel time. Perhaps actually get to see inside of your ship and interact with crew and such?

I think it'd be neat for multiple players to crew a ship. Some work to make the interface more ship control like rather than excel worksheet like would be nice too.

Actually, according to Eve lore the ships do indeed have crews. +1 on dullness though. It's a very self-motivated game; if you lack any motivation the game really does collapse in on itself.
