ah......poor little guy. When I was 17, I used to babysit for this family who had a three year old cat, who even at his age...was still suckiling...he would suckle on my cheek or neck each time I picked him up. Thank God I didn't let him leave a mark on my neck...my parents would have killed me!

She also had 14 strays in her yard all with matted hair, and fleas. She posted an ad to get rid of them all so you think who in their right mind would take kittens in this condition? She is lucky I had a heart to take care of this kitten that was so skinny it could have died the next day. Rather than letting it die in an animal shelter, or worse spending a day with her. I had taken the kitten home, and now I'am trying to get it back in good health. I'am also sure animal control will see her soon

I think some people give away kittens on Craigslist just so they can avoid being turned into animal control. I have a kitten I also got on Craigslist that was three weeks old. The mama cat oviously never fed him, or the cat was not actually its mother. The woman was feeding the kitten pigs milk who in their right mind would think a kitten needs pigs milk. She barely fed the kitten. The other two kittens with this one died.

My wee Seamus did that when he was a kitten...in fact, he STILL does it and he's 8 years old! Granted, your little guy being taken from his mother might be the reason, but some cats, especially if they have any Siamese in 'em are prone to do this. Why? Cos it makes 'em happy. Just imagine a child sucking his thumb...this is the kitty equivalent. It gives them a sense of comfort and pleasure....as said, it makes 'em happy! Most do grow out of it, but some (like my Seamus) do it all their lives.

Eli came from an awful, dirty home in a bad neighborhood where he was not being properly fed or taken care of. They lied about his age on Craigs List, saying he was 8 weeks. I knew the minute I saw him he was too young to be away from his mother, but he had worms, mites, fleas, a bacterial infection in his stomach, an eye infection and was so starved he could barely walk or go to the bathroom. He's healthy now and going on 9 weeks! But signs of his hard life still remain.
