No, not really 'Race.". Just keep up with the snowball. Make sure you are close to the Snowball. Might not work then.

Don't let it fall off the course, either. It can fall off. So try to keep it on the stage. If it rolls off, just go back to thetop of the hill, there should be a new one.

It took me a billion tries to find out you have to stand BEHIND the body, not in front of it. If you stand in front, he just rolls away.

Yeah, that was a bit unclear from the game. I didn't get it the first time(s) either. The hint that's given is that the body says 'I'll follow you' before it starts rolling.

...? I suppose you mean, how does where Mario stands affect where the body rolls? The body is alive. You speak with it in the beginning. It has some control over where it rolls, and it rolls towards you when it can. Therefore, standing behind the head makes the body hit the head. :)

Body----Mario-Head ---> Body-Mario-Head

See in my amazing diagram? The body, in all forms of logic, would roll towards Mario, and thus towards the head.
