Roger had more of a conventional rock voice than Fred, but Queen weren't a conventional rock band. Rog was a great singer, but sounded just like other singers from that era - Rod Stewart, Noddy Holder and the guy from friggin' Black Lace. Fred was a vocal God... totally inimitable and irreplacable.

Mojo Magazine put David Clayton Thomas on their September 2003 compilation CD the "Roots of Hip Hop". On that he sings "Lucretia MacEvil" - a big hit for him back in the 70's. He also had another hit called "And When I Die"...huge hit. It's really not fair to say one is better than the other - both have some really serious pipes.
