  • dude u left the front door???

  • That is not the Hawthorne home is it?

  • WHY DIDN'T YOU STEAL THE FRONT DOOR?

  • Wow so cool and nice to finally meet someone from Hawthorne

  • There was more than one Wilson house.

I think this one is still there and has been almost completely rebuilt.

That is what they were doing when this video was made.

The next house the Wilson family lived in was the one that was torn down because of a freeway.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • That is your backyard

  • I Cried. :(

  • Pre-Carl! I guess they got Carl at the end of '46.

  • tornado?

  • Yea! Carl was born December 21st, 1946...Happy Birthday Carl..RIP...today is Christmas Day, 2009...

  • So, what's the deal where was this house located you got here, Is the house on 119th st...what house is this?..is this where the monument is?

  • I have a photo of me standing in front of the Wilson's Hawthorne home on W. 119th street years ago. I had it enlarged and also had Brian Wilson sign it; I gave him a copy as well. He mentioned that his wife Marilyn had gotten most of their personal effects during their divorce. The home was levelled to make way for the "new" freeway. Paved paradise and put up a parking lot, I guess..

  • from what i understand it's part of the century freeway today

thanks alot caltrans. But sad to say, the nice urban community

turned into ghetto land in the late sixties. Those stupid gang bangers runied a piece of history. now it's just dirt!!

  • Mr. Hawthorne, Thanks for the great info.

  • A question for Mr. Hawthorne: Was the house completely torn down, or was it extensively remodeled? It looks like the builders were trying to save some of the walls.

  • I just drove past the house the other day. It has been extensively remodeled, they built a second level. But at least a portion of the house is still there...and the garage is still there.

  • They built a second level. The first story skeleton is still pretty much intact.. And the original garage is still there.

  • Sad.

  • Eventually, all those houses got torn down to make way for the Century Freeway. Mike Love's old house at Mount Vernon & Fairway is still there, however.

  • The Wilson family house in Hawthorne is the one that got torn down for the 105 "Glen Anderson" Freeway. This one was in So. Central L.A.

  • @IDLERACER Without Brian Wilson, Mike Love would have been a assistant manager at an In and Out Burger

  • Home sweet home, eh?

  • Discraceful, one of the great songwriters of the 20th century lived there.

  • What a shame. The state of California should have made this a shrine to the three guys who did more PR for that state than anyone in history....

  • Don't forget Carl

  • Don't think Carl was born yet. I believe he was born in 1946?

  • The Wilsons lived here before Carl was born. He never lived here.

  • if those walls could talk

  • maybe some furnature and were do they go the bathroom!?

  • And a new ceiling.

  • They should get a new entrance door
