Damn, this is some incredible music. Don and Leon with friends are absolute true gold. These musicians know how to make some incredible down home true music. Reminds me of an old log cabin up in the hills of Tennessee or something where a whole family is just having a good time and makin' some music, sittin' and talkin', singin', eating some good food, drinking some good drink and just being friends and family. Too bad there aren't many gatherings like this in the world anymore!
There's Kathi McDonald in the red dress...right next to Furry Lewis. I was lucky enough to perform and tour with Kathi in the late 90s. She never talked about this time in her life. It is amazing to see these videos now. She is still performing here on the west coast...one of the most energetic human beings I have ever met. :)
I´ve still got the vinyl of this. Bought it at a truck stop in Tennessee. And, if you can find a copy, read Don´s book, "Road Stories and Recipes"- just excellent!!
@judecreek2 he's the greatest piano player of all times, i think, love him, thank God they finally inducted him into the r&r hall of fame, go Leon. you are the greatest.
I had a bootleg album of this show on vinyl the year it came out. Wish I still had it. I remember seeing the original show when it was originally broadcast.

Does anyone know who the black gentleman is that's pictured hanging out throughout these 'Homewood Sessions'? Furry Lewis?

Yes, that is Furry Lewis. He was also on Iuka. He was on quite a few songs on the "In God We Trust" album. What a great bluesman!

@redkelly I want to know too. I think I saw an old video where he is a musician too. Can't remeber where.
