Positive thing about it is the great neck. Negative thing is the neck dive (already mentioned). The telecaster shaped body, whilst looking great, is overbalanced by the long neck. The pickup output is a bit weak at the top end though.
Also as delivered new, the lead is crap - the shielding doesn't work too well. The original strings are even worse. Replace them both with something decent and you'll have a half-decent bass, at least at the price.
@whigwood yeah I replaced the strings with GHS strings so its all brand new and sounds good. the output is pretty good on this bass, dunno why yours aint so strong :S you should look into that with yours
@josenet2006 Yeah it is, I never really played it unfortuantely. Its basically brand new, although I used it on a recording for my band. check it out on soundcloud, just search for 'Chain Reaction Tremor' the bass sounds really powerful
Just checked the song. Bass sounds ballsy, but there's a lot of other things going on in that track :)
Tempted to get one of them, but what you say about the neck dive puts me off I must say. Is it really noticeable? I've sold a couple of lovely basses in the past just because of the neck dive issue.
@josenet2006 Well if youre looking for one, Im selling this one for £150 on ebay. The neck dive was bad until I put that little bolt in the back and that helped a lot. So on this particular bass it isnt really noticeable because Ive fixed the problem.
well, my bass arrived today. Yup, the neckdive issue is noticeable so I'l do something about it... although in all fairness, some basses like the Warwick Thumb or the Gibson Thunderbird are about the same.
It sounds huge, it's like a Jazz on steroids really, which surprised me... until I checked and realised the pickups are located at the same position the Jazz pickups would be, rather than as on the Stingray. It sounds BIG, and looks great on me ;-) Lovely bass.
@ConorSomerz Cheers, I think it's a neat idea, I will try that. I guess the question is to find a screw that's the same thread and a bit longer. Trip to B&Q, although my local one is not very good.... I'll cross my fingers. Where did you find the one you used?
