  • I like to try it, since I don't eat pork could I use the chicken instead of pork ?, I know it will change the name if I use the chicken right ? LOL , it will call chicken shogayaki desu ne ~

    Thank you :-)

  • This looks so good I'm gonna do the trick of going throught the screen into their kitchen, just like the girl in The Ring movie.

  • @YujiSakai12 :P Take it from a native arab, the dog does not sound arabic. We do not pronounce our C's that way. :P

  • @missMimiann lol XD

  • I love how this video is old but the comments say- 1 Hour Ago - Yesterday - 23 Minutes ago - AHA. THIS IS AWESOME

  • Removing fuzz with salt... I shall do that.

  • I made this today! It was yummy~ the sauce made me want to eat lots of rice!

  • @JUSTDANCE379: I make it for my lunch or supper about 2-3 times a week. So easy to cook, delicious, and healthy--I can actually feel stress dwindling away each time I eat it :-) Never thought I'd love raw chopped cabbages this way, but now I do.

  • I´m in love with the paper fan technique..... this is so cuteeeeeeee I want to live in Japan!!!

  • look delicious~! I want try it next time~ :)

  • Looks like bacon to me...

  • I love how for most people I know (Americans and Europeans), food is good based on preparation, ingredients, and so on... but for Japanese people, a reason behind eating that particular food seems to some times be necessary. Is it out of guilt for eating such yummy things all the time? Probably not, but a jealous part of me hopes so.But.... they probably just care about their health...

  • @uruhasthighs :P and I shall lol - I'm just a poor university student, so I have to make do with what I can - besides, I don't know a butchers around here where I could get pork loin sliced that thinly, the closest I can get is a pork chop - which is overly thick for this recipe, I was thinking that unsmoked back bacon would make a good substitute - or at least an acceptable one.

(sorry about the american thing, it just seems like american's are 75% of online traffic I encounter lol)

  • @bazzatron666 Pork belly. Buy a pork belly and cut it really thin. That's a very fatty cut of meat (and generally cheaper for that, for some reason... I love meat fat, though I don't eat it often). So you'll have kind of blubbery pork, but you can trim it and some of it will melt of while cooking. Just an idea.

  • @gurnumbly that's not a bad idea - however, I found that my local uni shop sells loin (but not the supermarket O_o) - so this is probably happening tonight XD

may have to serve with different vegetables, as I don't think I can get Ocra - that or it'll have to wait for another night lol

  • Wonderful taste ! It war really good and it's not difficult to do at all so i'll remake it ^w^ !

  • @uruhasthighs I'mma just use bacon then XD (I'm English, so bacon looks a lot more like loin and less like american bacon, just in case you were wondering lol)

Say hello to dinner tomorrow ^_^

  • so - is this just bacon? or am I mistaken? what's the difference?

  • Thumbs up if you're annoyed when people make "thumbs up" comments, when all you want to do is watch the woman make some good food.

  • i might actually make this it seems very easy :D!

  • what kind of vegetable is the okras? how does it taste? spicy? or is it like paprika?

    I've never seen it before...

  • @Lyrvana It is a nasty vegetable that requires an extremely talented cook or it turns slimy and inedible.

  • @Lyrvana i think it tastes sutble, but it's gooey inside with seeds... I didn't like okura at my childhood. :(

but i kinda like it and its very good for health! ;)

  • @cielodicaprio is it like sinqua? I sometimes use sinqua but I never seen okras,

it also has little seed inside but I don't know whether it is the same or not :(

  • did anybody else notice that dog laughing at her at 0:29 when she was rubbing that okra lol

  • @kaligula785 yeah ! I did, it was awesome, never saw a dog do that! 0:29 will be my go to link when I'm depressed.

  • When she "shreds" she actually makes confetti like lettuce...when I "shred" I make construction paper lettuce....in huuuuge chunks..

  • Great!delicious!

  • there has eating method with MAYO.

    it's good.

anyway amazing recipe with the ginger sauce :O

  • Aah! Why can't you be my mommy? All my mom cooks is Americanized burritos and Italian foods, and fried chicken (but only when there's nothing else to make).

  • What would be a good sidedish for pork shogayaki ?rice ,udon or other noodles?=)

  • @Myomi1988 it is definitely rice. I usually add grated apple to the jinger sauce.

  • i love his accent :P

  • you call that pork? i call that bacon =\

  • Sure, pigs were unclean......Back when there was no refrigeration....

  • i think all videos are great :) ..are all japenese women like this in the kitchen cooking ?

  • @chilliconcarnie1 Not all but many Japanese woman(for example my mother) like this. But recently young woman cant cook like this. I,a 30th Japanese man,can cook all of foods in "cooking with dog".but not careful like her.

  • @chilliconcarnie1 The dish introduced here is only a dish often made at home in Japan.

  • @chilliconcarnie1

    not all!!

but we japanese women recognaize that shogayaki is

very easy to cook, as a kind of speedy dish.

  • Oooooh, I love pork and okra <3

  • THEN GO TO ISRAEL AND BE A JEW. THIS SHOW IS SO ADDICTING!!!!

  • Lev 11:7,8

And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he [is] unclean to you. Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they [are] unclean to you.

  • @shishamu

  • Comment removed

  • @debbiechickie5 What do you mean by safe? Its not illegal or anything.

  • @Missleanneiscool Maybe he refers to the fact that the products may be radio active?

  • @MrQuagmire26 Perhaps she should have been more specific.

  • @debbiechickie5 Buy old stock. :)

  • Whenever i watch one of her videos I always get hungry lol

  • Japanese cook their meat so lightly...

  • thumbs up if you usually watch cookingwithdog not to actually cook the recipe in the end but just to watch her make these delicious foods.

  • @PhantomMana but u wish u could eat it ):

  • @PhantomMana actually, i just watch it to listen to dog's accent.

  • @PhantomMana THUMB WHORE

  • @spamala12345 i saw one pretty similar the other day at whole foods!

  • @annaboooo Thanks :)) is that an American store? I'm in the UK "/

  • @spamala12345 it is. i bet you could google it and find one online though :)

  • @annaboooo I think I'll do that :) It looked so much easier to use than a regular metal box grater! :)

  • I love making this, except I never add sake to my dishes, not even as little as sake :).

  • i like the faars....

  • *loin

  • I made it and it was succesfull!! but it was kinda salty for me so i diluted it with 1 n a half tsp of water. but tts because i was using pork lions tt were half the size of hers n i only used 3

  • I'm doing a project abou Japanese food.

Could you tell me what are the main ingredients used in Japan?

    Like Sake and Ginger...

  • @Megabine well, you cant really say "what are the main ingredients used in Japan" thats like saying what are the main ingredients used in Australia or Europe or USA. there's just so many. But if you want to make a broad generalization or should i say stereotypical generalization, then its seafood and soy based products.

  • @poopyhead38 I meant to say food.

Some I know like sake, tofu and more.

But from all of those I don't know wich are used more in Japan.

  • @Megabine Rice, fish..

  • @Pyroblazer Your a bit to late... but thanks anyway :)

  • Why don't they serve food like this in Wagamama's? It's all just over priced sushi and miso.

  • Sorry but I feel I need the cleaver she has to master these recipes!

  • is so yummy i just wanna eat it nowz =]

  • 16 people got rubbed by pigs...

  • Is the pork loin the same as bacon? Because it looks like bacon to me..

  • @JacQk18 in the US, butchers trim out the circular muscle in the middle and sell that as loin roast. also US pigs are bred to be less fat.

  • I like it!

    It is very yummy!(^∀^*)

  • OMG I'M SO HUNGRY RIGHT NOW.

  • Noooooo! Not the fat! It's the best part! ;____;

  • I do it! Veeeery good :))

  • I LOVE that ceramic grater she's using. Gonna get one this week!

  • The dog looks wayyyy stoned at the start... like at the 11sec mark...

  • where's the smell button?

  • @Deancasser And the taste button?

  • @Deancasser and the eat now button lol

  • @Deancasser

    Bettter yet, the EAT button!

  • :O I didn't know the Japanese used okra. I love 'em.

My mom uses them to make this delicious slimy soup. Certainly one of my favorite dishes.

  • the pork doesn't look fully cooked.

  • @yamaguchiyo You can't really tell if anything is fully cooked by looking at it, though you can tell if it is raw. Safety is a matter of temperature over time - as long as you meet that, it doesn't matter what it looks like.

  • Isn't that bacon?

  • Francis, I can't get pork sliced so thin... can I use bacon?

  • @ghostmosquito Bacon would contain way too much salt. I'm in the same boat, grocery-store butchers just laugh at me when I ask them to cut 1/5" slices, and the nearest non-shitty butcher has a three hour wait.

  • Francis/ Frances i dunno well anyway do u have a facebook? I was wondering xD

  • オクラがあまり好きじゃないが、肉はずいぶん美味しかったよ!

    私の場合はジンジャーを減らして大蒜を増やした。晩御飯として完璧ですよ。

  • i LOVE okra!! didnt expect it making an appearance in a japanese dish

  • Lol, it's funny how their pork slices are so thin compared to USA.

I wouldn't even call them pork slices..... 4 of those slices will probably make 1 slice of USA pork. lol But then again, USA has one of the highest obesity rates......

  • @NinkaPanda Your comment is 5 months old but I just wanted to point out that we have thick pork slices too. . We also have these thin slices particularly used for this dish because it is cooked in a short time, they need to be thinner. Actually the thicker pork slices can be cut into thinner slices like this video in order to make this dish. It's the same kind of meat anyways.

  • when will they teach curry :)

  • @blazinboomer um, they already have, dude. years ago. just search how to make katsu curry on youtube.

  • YUM!

are they gonna cook that dog later on?

  • @TheFreePisces your pathetic...not all asians eat weird foods...

  • @nennu15 two bitches in the kitchen and your mom isn't one of them???

the only thing that's pathetic is your overwhelmingly misogynistic culture; go kill some whales and dolphins... try fixing your lame excuse for a race before you defend it!

  • @TheFreePisces lmao i am not even asian yo!...your just being retarded...weirdo..

  • @TheFreePisces hmm uneducated redneck alert. have u ever been in college? or even graduated from high school? i guess not Joe:p

  • @chandramichael lol i like what your thinking bro lol...

  • lol... It took me 40 seconds before I realized this guy was speaking English.

  • 3:37 the dog just cant take it anymore and turn away from the meat

  • Wow, I like that Grating Plate.

I'm going to find one - it's perfect

  • @tinghaling

Damn, I can't find the grating plate!

Does anyone know the name of it?

    @ 1:47

  • @tinghaling "Ceramic grater" I think.

  • @addvib12

    Thanks

  • I swear Francis is always high in these videos.

  • Wonderfull better than mama!

  • AM SOrry to say this but thatguy who is talking sound retarded lol...

  • @rokotyan81

    不憫な人だね^^;

    君の母国では犬食文化があるんでしたっけ?w

  • i wonder if i can use white cooking wine instead of sake~ D:
