Lol this is total BS. Every state has different requirements. There is NO universal "body guard license" lol. LEO or military exp. College. And specialized training is what u need most

psss all these companys schemes first they tell you its 70$ then later your gonna have to pay 200 then they tryyyyy to find you a job at some agency...and most likely will end up earning 8$ a hour....i need some fucken help here...i been dealing with these people for a month n a half

Most body guards will have done time in the armed forces as a soldier, normally in one with defensive or security related roles e.g. military police or security guards.

The most successful ones will also have already had some form of military close protection training. They want someone who has the necessary skills with experience.

@Spuddfluff Even more so from my years in the business clients and good companies seek... they want law enf experience ..one reason is law enf can carry weapons concealed and still have certain rights as a retired officer more so then milit but milit is important and some are out of milit with no law enf but most have law enf backgrounds.. in one job I am working we have about 75% of law enf and the other 25 were in milit only .. all 100% are either law enf or milit background or experience..

@a211pc I don't know what the "certain rights" are that you are speaking of or what state you work in. But in Indiana, any person over the age of 18 can get a permit to carry, conceal, and use a firearm. However, it is for personal protection and can be used to protect others as well as yourself. How this would carry over into a job to protect others, I am unsure, but it would seem to be legal as long as the use was justified. But as a bodyguard you would only use your firearm in very bad times.

@Riokushinaku In my state Calif it is extremely difficult to obtain & keep a CCW unless you are a LEO as a honorably retired police officer you have the right to a CCW and under new law ret. officers can now under federal law carry in all states and terroritories. Cit do not have that right .. as far as using a wepaon you can only use lethal force in IDOL( immediate defense of life ) & even then you have to consider background, last resort, age , seriousness of the crime and liability issues..

@a211pc Definitely good points. However, an IDOL situation is very rare for a professional body guard with the right training and mindset. I, personally, have worked in correctional facilities and have a mindset to match the job. You try to defuse or handle a situation with the least amount of force possible. As long as you have had proper training and you have the right mindset then when you do use your firearm there is plenty of evidence to prove it was an IDOL situation for you or your client

@a211pc Most people think bodyguard and security work is all about beating people up and hurting others to protect your client, business, or facility. When, in all reality, you are working to avoid all situations like that and if one arises you handle it with the smallest amount of force and injury possible.

@Riokushinaku You handle any situation whether in private security specializing in exec protection or in law enf with min force and only that force which is absolutely necessary. By proper planning and anticipation you can avaiod most problems .. I wish you luck in your career .

The USSS uniform div is the way many join the USSS if they don't have a 4 yr degree go to uniform services first for a few yrs get the exp then become a fed agent..

WAIT im confused, soo u take an exam in college??? law informent college or any college, will it let me do it in usmma college, its a marine college, or do i go to a specific college to become in the secret service

@fmxbeast102 To be in the USSS, FBI or fed law enf as a criminal investigator and or fed agent you need a college degree some agencies want specific degrees like FBI like degrees in accounting, science, lawyers JD degree.. ask the agency.. you take the gen fed test for law enf .. right now the USBP are taking all degress and hungry for good ppl.. so any college get a 4 yr degree and then you should have some milit or govt exp to place you high on the hire list.. the usss also has a uniform div.
