this is sort of like what was produced for the nes a few years back that alllowed one to play pc downloaded nes roms on their nes, the powerpak, it's called, i own one and don't know how I lived without it, being the huge nes gamer i am.
Thanks. Yeah I love products like this to, especially when they use USB, the perfect combo of new and old technologies! Some products like these are limited to using a serial or parallel or even old printer port which my modern PC does not have so I appreciate the USB versions. I have 2 colecovisions (one as a back up) so this cartridge is a great accessory.
great vid.. im on that thank you rom,, i think... or at least everyonelovesbutters is... my top 3 fave coleco games are vnture, mouse trap and jumpman junior,, oh and turbo was grouse too..
Yep, they are available either separately or as a complete set, just requires some Googling or search on torrent sites, like roms for any system they are out there, one needs only to apply a little effort to search for them..........
Er, no, not really, at least not in my opinion. I mean it is not hard to find, download then just load to the cart, not much effort at all really and well worth it. The alternative would be to track down and pay for all the actual carts so if you consider that then it is a very simple option in comparison. Yes it does require SOME effort if you have never done it before but like anything worth having you get out of it what you out into it.
Well no I would not suggest buying 2 unless money is no object, Coleco roms take up almost no space so just fill the cart up with your favorites and archive the rest, the whole rom set on you hard drive or even backed up to a CD takes up almost no space at all, just load onto the cart (very simple) as required. Yes if you don't like emulators or tons of carts taking up space then this is your best option for sure................
Cool trick with Donkey Kong. I've got to know, you knew the "trick" worked before you made the jump. Was that an audio delay or did you know that the jump to the next (Rivets) stage because of...how?
And, yeah, more videos of the unknown games please!
It's a well known trick however in this case the audio narration was added after the games were recorded................The only way I could of narrated while actually playing would be to video the gameplay riight off the TV which wouldn;t have looked as good.
I don't think so, I mean weren't those for the ADAM Cassette drive? I know stand alone ADAMS played Colecovision carts too but I thought the ADAM version of games were run on the tape drive? I don't have an ADAM so I don't know the specifics.....
the numbers you people manage are hilarious. it's good to see that old stuff is payed the right prices on almost the entire world.
in this country -argentina-, everyone that has something that's more than 10 years old feels it's a relic and thinks he can get rich out of it. console collecting here is REALLY expensive, i hate that.
imagine paying (in us dollars) $200 for a dreamcast, 250 for an old xbox, 50 for a genesis, 150 for an atari 5600...

ok, i guess i'm just lazy whishing it was like my sean kelly multicard for vectrex.
but as long as it's not too big a struggle to hunt down roms, get it working or need a degree in advanced computing, i don't mind i guess.
any idea howmany games there are for colecovision ?
combatdigiq 2 years ago
From a quick Google search:
All told, approximately 170 titles were released on plug-in cartridge s during its lifetime
That is just retail games of course, not including hacks, unreleased, proto types, homebrew etc.....
MaximumRD 2 years ago
so i would need two of those multicards ? ;D
seriously, i'm thinking of getting into coleco because it has many nice games.
if i can get my hands on a expantion module
it could play atari games as well i suppose.
maybe i need an atari multicard too. :D
together that would corner a impressive game liberary i think.
well, i guess i don't like emulators and i hate
mountains of cartridges,
what else can i do ?

lol, i was just kidding about getting two.

i think i'll be saving up to get one.

Didn't know about that DK glitch. Interesting.
Mr. Do was the only game my mom would play as well. What the heck? What is it about Mr. Do that is so popular with moms?
I'd get that Star Wars game except that firing sound effect annoys the crap out of me.
That robber game looks fun.

Awesome, is this every singe Colecovision game every made?
Gamester81 2 years ago
Correction I meant "ever". I also didn't know about the DK glitch. Cool little trick.
Gamester81 2 years ago
Most of them, of course there are 3x more ROMS available but that includes different revisions, bad dumps etc, nothing important............
MaximumRD 2 years ago
So you meant to say, "ever singe Colecovision game?" What's a "singe"? :-)

it would be great if you could do a third part showing more games!
you never get enough coleco!
(if they ever come back to the console industry, i just gave them the new slogan :P)

Looking at your intro, Did I tell you I bought a brand new Amstrad CPC 464 from eBay, never opened for £3?
Bargain. I've also got a monitor for it I bought from a Scouts jumble sale years before.

Man that's awesome!
MaximumRD 2 years ago
T'was quite a find. especially as used ones were going for at least £10.
BTW, the Coleco cart, can you put on ADAM games as well, like Super Donkey Kong?
