@nEEdLzZz This couldn't be further from the truth. Ducati made drastic changes almost 5 years ago to shed the stigma of high maintenance costs. The 7500 mile maintenance is only $750 at a Ducati dealership. This used to be over $3500 on the older bikes. Having owned just about every Jap bike under the sun, this is a pretty good deal considering the fact that I've never been on a bike that comes close to my 1198.

@iAmWr3ckless nah man they are "made to order". Also the engines are L-twins...not V-twins...The jap bikes are in-line fours...

@zuluboy5790 Also V-twins do not have power output for a sport bike and also can not center well on the frame which is why they use a L-twin......You see this problem with buells....Ducatis are more torque oriented while a jap bike like an r6 is more high end power. Meaning that the r6 gets it power output at around 10k Rpms and goes up depending on mods,tunes, etc.

My opinion is only on the 1198s since that's the one I had gotten to ride and its 2nd to none. I will always favor the R1's sound I don't think there is anything like it but the Ducati is just so perfect its so balanced and is sooo sexy it will one day replace my 01 R1
