Oh, I almost forgot. I still use the term "tape" for recording. Regardless the media. I'm a bit older than you, that might be part of the problem. I suppose to be accurate we could say digitize (digitise?).

The only problem I have with that term is that I'm old enough to remember that term being used in CAD as a way of entering a drawing into a computer.
