I don't have to; Rothschild's has been an investment, corporate and private bank for over 200 years. Therefore I fail to see the relevance of your previous comment.
10cc as well as many other Brit bands raised the bar and set trends we all listen to. The majority of the commercial radio listeners haven't a clue why we are where we are today. If it wasn't on the radio or they hadn't heard it before then it "sucked". I feel sorry for those folks. They live on a very narrow road.
i think that after the opening riff... thru the whole song u can just make a solo :D its so cool and easy to solo to this hehe... xD well... if u kno what i mean
Likewise, 10cc never did anything as powerful as Queen's first few albums. You can't compare the 2-they are radically different. That's just my opinion...I could be wrong...
So-the debate here over the last week is over who was better-10cc or Queen. Which is tastier-apples or oranges? There's no comparison-they are 2 different entities. As far as tight, brilliant and incredibly clever music, it's10cc. Thunderbolts and lightening - very very frightening versus You need a yen to make a mark if you wanna make money -Sorry Queen fans; 10cc, game set match.
We all different tastes. It also depended on the material and songs. Some songs I like from Queen and some from 10cc. But also fancied the members of 10cc better I dont know why??
I lkike both bands but your point here is clearly flawed. You've chosen a great 10cc lyric and compared it to a nonsense queen lyric and concluded that that means 10cc were a smarter band. Thats ridiculous, Bohemian Rhapsody is meant to be nonsnense, nothing wrong with that. Wall street shuffle isn't,nothing wrong with that either, but you certainly can't compare the two lyrically. And are you saying that queen are less tight and clever than 10cc? I think both were very tight and very clever.
According to a grand vote in over 40 countries is Bohemian Rhapsody; the best song ever, from A Night At The Opera; the greatest album of the 70´s, played by Queen; the greatest band ever, which is; the greatest singer ever (Freddie Mercury), second best guitarist (Brian May), second best drummer (Roger Taylor), and John Deacon (who did not reach the top 10). And that´s the peeople speaking, not me.
OK, you have evidence that there are many deluded people who think Queen is best. :)
It's subjective. I like both, but I like 10cc best.
Oh and tell me if you agree with me on this. In the tribute after Freddie's death, the singer with a vocal range that came closest to his was Annie Lennox.
I´m so ashamed, I haven´t seen the whole tribute-concert. I feel that anyone trying to preform Queen-songs violates it, since (I think) no-one ever will be as good as Freddie.
As for the range, I think Ian Gillan had a bit bigger range (he could sing a little bit lower than Freddie). But that was with the falsetto, without it, I´m not sure.
Roger Taylor (in Queen) sang the F above high C in headvoice, the highest I´ve ever heard Freddie sing, but he couldn´t sing nearly as low as him.
as queen are my alltime favourites i know george michael would do a better job than paul rogers, one of the greatest voices ever, but cannot do justice to queen numbers
I will contribute to the bailout fund if Henry (Hank) Paulson — U.S. Treasury Secretary, former Goldman Sachs CEO, and all-around bald guy ponies up the $200 million in capital gains tax he was exempt from having to pay. It seems Hank made a bundle from 2003 to 2006 and did not have to show Uncle Sam the money. I made around $17,776 during the same period and though I have already paid Uncle Sam, I would cough in a few more bucks if Hank throws up, err in, his $200 million.
I saw them about 1972/3/4 at Cardiff Castle. They were heaading the bill and preceded by Thin Lizzy, Steeleye Span and Man. It rained the whole day (actually it pored). 10 cc came on at about 10 pm and after the first chord was played the whole stage seemed to explode.... everyone thought it was the rain but it was the show. Around 11 pm they play "I ám not in Love", the whole of cardif stood still to listen.... it was magic
Oh no , they had many many hits together after this. After 'Sheet Music' where this song is from they released 'Original Soundtrack'1975 and 'How Dare you' 1976. Great albums all of them!
OOOOOh I was SOOOOOOO in love with Eric Stewart - fab band. I remember seeing them at the Hammersmith Odeon (aka Hammersmith Apollo!) waaaaay back - great band. Thanks for posting.
Hi, I have the DVD from the 1977 Hammersmith Concert if there's any specific tracks to you me to upload; there are some already on my channel mainly from the Deceptive Bends album.
ooo, i think i'm gonna have to jump into this queue too! w/o a doubt, Eric is fine. what a pleasure it is to be able to watch him being all sexy, and working his magic (and working us into a frenzy) via these fabulous vids
i dont really get 10cc but i like them

10cc should also have more publicity and recogniton. Also they were different from QueenQueen sounded more like Rock bands.

I'm an old fucking fart (52) but this is the best band EVER. Queen is a close second, but 10cc is the tops.
bdf2718 3 years ago 2
I disagree, Queen is the greatest ever.
So Queen is the best, but 10 cc is good too.

didn't you see george michael singing "somebody to love"? his vocal range was perfect
stusixtyone 2 years ago
Yeah, but could he cover Freddie's FULL range as exhibited by all of his songs, rather than just one song?
bdf2718 2 years ago
as queen are my alltime favourites i know george michael would do a better job than paul rogers, one of the greatest voices ever, but cannot do justice to queen numbers

Yes, recorded at Wembley in 1982 as part of the International Music Show. Personally, the best live performance I've seen by any band.

@AnnieOakley53 Yes, they performed live better than any other group that I've seen or heard live.
