@Bartofilux as belkevich said it was a serbian paramilitary group operating in both world wars. it was extremely nationalist and also supported monarchy. they are the ones who fought Tito and the partisans for control of yugo (and lost). the group does not exist today, but some nationalist croatians will call serbs 'Chetniks' to taunt them. similarly, serbian nationalists will call Croats 'Ustase', which was the Croatian Nazi collaboration.
why call someone a cetnici if he is not a cetnici? and uh....at least not an ustase...but hope one day hrvati and srbi have full peace....zivelli srbija! love the pravoslavac culture...+++
No dramas ! I've grown up in Oz, and soccer isnt really a popular sport here either. We have Aussie rules, Rugby and Cricket. But, Soccer is so international and everybody plays it...that I love the cosmopolitan feel about it. Take Care.
I don't understand how such an impressive relationship can be ruined by a stupid war. I'm European and now I am ashamed to say I am related to such arrogant and dumbass people that are still fighting over it!!!!! All of u can suck Divac's balls
You stupid european fucks are disgusting. It blows my mind that you can still be arguing about this war under this documentary. did you even watch it?
the hate of the world stems from people like that. people obviously have not gotten over the war or can't let shit go. vlade divac is trying to move on in life, and these people are still using slurs and hating on each other. my point is, all of these people from eastern europe keep stating how bad the war is,how much hate there is, but when they see a person from the other side (vlade divac) they either ignore him or drop a slur. it's like they want and expect change, but won't work for it
@freestyler45 In the 2nd WW ...in Serbia..there were ...well, I guess you could call them guerillas, or militia or an auxiliary portion of the Serbian army. The Cetniks were accused of war crimes and are hated by Croats and Bosnians.
@jonyjonz Its cause the Nazis had invaded Yugoslavia and put Croatians in positions of power, they even created an SS division of Muslim Bosnian. They weren't committing war crimes they were fighting the Nazis and helping Russia win the war. Of course there were good and bad people on all sides, but I am Russian I support Serbians first, but mainly I just want peace between all Slavic people for next generation, lets not have war, we can solve our disputes with basketball instead :)
@PavelDragunov Pavel...I am human first and I support good honest people from all walks of life. But..also my forefathers and foremothers are slavic..so I pat attention to all slavic actions. Take care Brother ! ps..not basketball ...but Football !!
@jonyjonz I understand that, I just have paticularly love for Serb people I have so many good Serb friends we just have so much in common particularly our Orthodox heritage. Hahaha well I've lived in the USA as long as I can remember, so my favorites are 1- B-ball 2- baseball 3- American football, soccer is just not part of the culture and I like high scoring, I played soccer as a kid, but I'd always just couldn't wait till it was over so I could get back on the basketball court! :D
Chetniks, or the Chetnik movement (Serbian: Četnici, Четници, pronounced [tʃɛ̂tniːtsi]), were Serbian nationalist and monarchist paramilitary organizations from the first half of the 20th century. The Chetniks were formed as a Serbian resistance against the Ottoman Empire in 1904, and participated in the two Balkan Wars,[1] World War I, and World War II. Between the wars, in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, they functioned in the form of two civilian organizations
@vukizeko The Chetniks were a partner in the pattern of terror and counter terror that developed in Yugoslavia during World War II. The Chetniks used terror tactics against the Croats in areas where Serbs and Croats were intermixed, against the Muslim population in Bosnia, Herzegovina and Sandžak, and against the Partisans and their supporters in all areas.
@vukizeko The Muslim population of Bosnia, Herzegovina and Sandžak was a primary target of Chetnik terror due to the traditional animosity between Serbs and Muslims, but this action was also undertaken to 'cleanse' these areas of Muslims in order to create a 'Greater Serbia' free of non-Serbs
Several modern Serbian paramilitary organizations, formed in the 1990s after the breakup of Yugoslavia, chose the name "Chetniks", and consider themselves as the continuation of the Chetnik legacy.
@vukizeko Vukizek...to svako zna...But, really ! Who really gives a shit whether you are Croat or Serb ? ..I mean anyone with at least 2 brain cells working knows good people are good people ! I mean ..well.. I'm just saying..it's clear you know your stuff. In fact..all I'm saying..is Take Care ! and dont take all this croat/serb/muslim bullshit to seriously !
Can people who aren't from Serbia or Croatia undrestand this? Unfortunately, no..... But atleast they tried... To hard to explain... It is hard to explain a peoples '' vibe" without livig in a place and hearing and living the situation through...
that was one of the best documentaries I have ever seen, so emotional and so inspirational. I believe that Vlade and Drazen will reunite someday in heaven and all will be forgiven.
From an American's point of view, it was a good documentary. Maybe ESPN did not get everything right. What I know is that the hatred runs deep in that part of the world. I have been through there once in '05. I didn't say anything political when in restaurants. Here in the USA, there is great hatred, too, but there are not any demarcations lines to separate us. We are all together so we had to learned to live together, black/white others. Over there, they want to draw lines everywhere.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
WHY THE FUCK DIDN'T VLADE DIVAC TAKE THAT SERBIAN FLAG FROM THAT FAN AND STOMP ON IT, LIKE HE DID WITH THE CROATIAN1? HE SAID HE WOULD HAVE DONE IT A FEW CHAPTERS BACK. WHEN ASKED ABOUT THE WAR VLADE DIVAC SAID, "I'M NOT POLITICIAN DON'T CARE ABOUT IT". BUT WHEN THE BOMBS FELL ON BELGRADE, HIS SORRY ASS WENT CRYING TO LARRY KING, BITCHING ABOUT THE NATO BOMBS LANDING IN HIS COUNTRY! NOW THIS FUCKING HYPOCRITE CARES. HE WORRIED THAT A NATO MISSLE WILL BLOW UP IN THE CRACK OF HIS ASS! FUCK ESPN!
AGAIN THESE ESPN FUCKS DISRESPECTED THE CROATS! WOULD U SHAKE HANDS WITH THE SERBSCUM PLAYERS KNOWING THAT THEIR RELATIVES, IN THE SERBSCUM ARMY, R KILLING YOUR RELATIVES IN THAT BALKAN WAR? Lets say that in '55 they held a multi nation basketball tournament. The German team was the overall winner and had X Nazi players. The Israeli team took 3rd. U think the Jews would stand on that podium with their killers? THOSE ESPN FUCKS PORTRAYS THE CROATIAN PLAYERS AS SPOILED SPORTS AND I DON'T LIKE IT!!
Brilliant, Thank you so much for posting. I think had the team stayed together in 92, the "Dream team" would have had their hands full and may have even been beaten by the team that won the world championships in 1990
@supertaj1800 Wrong up there^, a cetnik is a member of the kings army ( way back in the day when it existed) obviously the Serbian king, they fought against facist ustase, and communist partizans, back in the day, but in the 1990s the term had a negative association reffering to a Serbian soldier !
the sickness of some die-hard hrvatski..calling srpskis chetnik even if they are not a supporter nor a member of draza mihajlovic's anti nazi soldiers
I too remember when I heard Drazen was gone. It was at the highschool, in Funchal, Madeira Island Portugal. I had just arrived at the school after lunch, and some colleague told me a european star in the NBA had died, she'd seen it in TV. Now, basketball was even very popular in Portugal except for kids who loved to see MJ on Mondays and Tuesdays on RTP-M. I asked her if it was Drazen Petrovic, she said it was something like that. Infinite sadness came on....
Interesting how some focus on the moron who arrives at 45 seconds and not on the gentleman at 1 minute, who appears to be a very decent person. All races have good and bad people. Bottom line here is that Drazen and Vlad opened the NBA up to European players. If only that Yugoslav team remained together....if only....
@grrr8one1 Very good point. It saddens me to think there are people like the man at :45 but then it's uplifting to think that there are people like the man at 1:00. It's great to look from the outside and say, "Wow... am I like the man at :45, or the man at 1:00" and speaking honestly, I haven't been like the man at 1:00. It really helps me put things into perspective, and that's why these are great documentaries.
Good points and your honest reply has to be commended. Very, very refreshing. Yes, what a great documentary! One of the best sport documentaries for sure.
Drazen Petrovic, Vlade Divac, Toni Kukoc, Dino Rada, Zarko Paspalj - in my heart there will allways be a place for you guys. I'm a football (soccer) guy, but i like basketball becose of you.
I'm from slovenia and i was 13 in 1989. I watched a lot of basketball teams after that, but i it's just not the same as then.
HAJDE.
amazing to see the amount of Croat pettiness on here still particulary that moron at 0:45, not many guys would have the stones to walk the streets of Zagreb knowing the majority hate you, this is simply a man who misses his friend and is trying to make amends, Vlade comitted no war atrocities but is treated like dirt, reminds me of Max Schmelling a bit simply a friendly sportsman who's name was dragged into international politics when all he wanted to do was play the sport he loved and thats it
@lickstickly very well said. and a good comparison. schmelling was no political guy at all.no mohammed ali.vlade was and is blamed for something, he just isnt.
@1412loco1412 He says: "Vlade Divac? - Chetnik". People in Serbia and Croatia have different views on what chetniks really were - antifascist movement or collaborators with Nazis. So, not wanting to start up the fight, I suggest you go to Wikipedia. :)
@1412loco1412 he says: "vlade divac? he is a cetnik." cetniks were shame of serbia as the ustashe were of croatia they were people that hated the other
very impressive, touching, i can't imagine, people speaking the same language almost!germany has an imense negarive role in dividing the fomer yougoslavia !divide et impera!
Tako je glasio moj komentar prie 5 mjeseci i dobio najviše 98 lajkova da bi bio maknut na 22,23 stranicu, ali uspio sam ga naći i copy paste al ispada ko da sam napisao ovako, bez veze sam i lajkove,al može se vidit na navedenim stranama,NIJE VALJDA SAMO ZATO ŠTO SAM HRVAT,DOBIO SAM I PISMA POZDRAVA IZ SRBIJE,JEDNA MALENA 14 GOD,MI SE ZAHVALILA,TO MI JE OSTALO U PAMČENJU!POZDRAV SVIMA DOBRIMA I ZLIMA!
This docymanter shows how two friends or to say it better-two brothers stoped being friends for a while because(but they will meet again one day)of a war and the disagreement of some politicians.
In my opinion, the broke up of Yugoslavia was like a broke up of a family with 6 brothers.
Svaka cast Vlade!
@zupmarc36 He said "Chetnik" which is a term used to describe Serbian Nationalist/fascist. Chetnik's tend to support the idea of a Greater Serbia, a return to the Serbian royal family.
..and the Yugoslav "school" was by far the most funtamentally advanced in the world and vastly underated...If they had a chance to keep that team together, I doubt there would've been a "dream-team" at all...as it quicky got proven a few years after, it was only a matter of "awe-struck" euro teams suffered against NBAers...what happened in the first half of '92 final - Drazen singlehandedly outplaying the entire USA team- accelerated the gap closing by 20 years, just with his spirit in 1 half!!!
A true masterpiece!! If you didn't cry at the end you don't have a soul....I'm Greek and all Yugoslavs are our brothers- even though they are pushing us to hostilities with Skopje & this fact might be the only reason we haven't been driven into them..Drazen and Nick Galis were the reason I've been playing basketball my whole life...Greek leagues were blesed to have some of this last trully remarkable Yugoslav team like Radja, Paspalj,Savic,Vrankovic,Zdovc a.o.
Just a simple thought. What the fuck may count words like nation, flags, borders, history, rivalry? How can it happen that a flag, a stupid flag (stupid as all flags can be) can erase such a friendhisp like that? How silly and stupid human beings can be, sometimes. RIP Drazen, the Mozart of basketball. We will alyways miss you.
Last time I cried this much was when I had a death in the family. That just goes to show how much this short movie gets to me emotionally. It doesn't only exemplify the great legacy of Vlade, the tortures of Yugoslavian history, but it also depicts what an amazing basketball player Drazen was. It is a shame they never had the opportunity to reconcile their differences, but I know wherever Drazen is right now he has forgiven Vlade for that incidenct that was blown out of proportion. Vlade Legendo
wow how unprofessional of dem croatians to disrespect the other athletes. Seems like this whole documentary showed how croatians were rude people..great film tho. never liked vladie because he was a king and I'm a Lakers fan, but got newfound respect for the guy now.
@kevin1451 You watched a documentary about the sadness and pain of this conflict and how unnecessary it all was and you say 'it showed how croatians were rude people'. Well I hope you read this and then take a bit of a look at yourself.
@jujumatt then explain how drazen can leave behind years of friendship just becuz of misunderstanding. explain the walking off the ceremony. explain this whole croatian pride. thats wat i got from the film. dealwithit
@kevin1451 Even if he was in the wrong it wouldn't justify you saying 'croatians are rude people'. That is the kind of thing that starts divisions. But don't forget all we are hearing is one side of this story. There may be more to it than the flag incident you just never know.
@jujumatt " Seems like this whole documentary showed how croatians were rude people"<----- thats what the film protrayed for me and prolly a lot of people. go complain to the director. hes the one filming an one sided story.
@jujumatt Remembering all of events from this documentary and much more, having a personal experience of loosing friends under similar circumstances and reading dozens of old an new articles and interviews with people envolved I know it was not just a misunderstanding and there is much more to it then the flag incident. I'm so glad this documentary was made.it brings back a lot of memories, but it it is mostly Vlade's side of the story and it leaves things unsaid.
@sivizeko Thanks for this response. The documentary was clearly told from one perspective and I don't mind that but it did strike me that the reaction from that one incident seemed extreme. I know that during difficult times the flag of a nation becomes to represent much more than what it is but nearly ten years on the streets of Zagreb he was still prompting a reaction. If you have the time or inclination I would be interested to hear a little more of the background surrounding the fall out.
@jujumatt You are from UK - imagine that you have UK soccer national team and after you win World Cup someone comes to players waving with Scotlands or Englands flag - that is what happened there.
@kevin1451 Not enough space for explaining but: Prisoners of War by Alexander Wolff: " Dino Radja is saying. It was the players' decision - a decision made because of the Serbian fans. "Croatian fans were saying only, 'Go Croatia,'" he says. "Serbian fans were insulting us, saying things about our mothers and fathers, about how they were going to kill us. You don't want to accept fans spitting on you and calling you names. We were advised to stay there, but I didn't want to hear that no more."
The best 30 for 30 without a doubt, great story. I want to know what that first dude says about vlade when he comes up to the camera, vlade divac? chetnit or something like that
@JMcLovn he says "chetnik" ... it's kind of a pejorative name for serbs in the same way as "ustasa" is for croats.... that's just simple explanation, there is a lot more to that but it would involve a lot of writing
@JMcLovn This is a complicated question, but I'll give an answer a go. The man called Vlade a "Chetnik", which is for all intents and purposes a term in the former Yugoslavia for "traitor". The Chetniks were a band of Yugoslavian Royalist rebels that formed in response to the German invasion during WW2. Some broke off from the initial goal of fighting the Nazis and instead fought their communist countrymen, the Tito led Communist Partisans. To this day Chetniks are regarded as collaborators.
@JMcLovn he says "chetnik". the chetniks were a royalist group who rebelled against the axis powers in ww2 in yugoslavia, and commited acts of ethnic cleansing on non-serbs. the croatian ustashe were fascist, fought on the axis' side and were as bad as the nazis in treatment of non-desired ethnic groups, and the multiethnic partisans were communist and fought both of the other two as well as the axis powers. today chetnik and ustasha are used to describe more violent serb and croat nationalists
@JMcLovn For Croats it has a meaning of the Serb ultra-nationalist which likes to cut throats of babies of different nationality. Serbs are split-up upon the word, leftist (ex-communists and liberals) consider ćetniks almost in same meaning as Croats do, the rightist conservatives have positive opinion. In reality there were many "četniks" which really commited attrocities, but there were also a very courage and respected people which only fought for Serbian freedom (until WWI) and later...
@JMcLovn ...Yugoslavian freedom in WWII (against Nazi Germany). Historical circumstanses made them viewed like criminals, but as I said, in reality there were actually much better people then communist which got on power in the end of WWII (in Yugoslavia of course).
@selffless1 "Cetnik" (pronounced Tsetnik). Originally meaning bandit, it refers to Serb freedom fighters in the 19th century, WWII etc. In its offensive meaning, it's a term of abuse describing someone as an extreme Serb nationalist. The opposite would be a Serb calling a Croat "Ustase" ("Croatian fascist"). Which basically shows what an asshole that guy is...
@streetwaves11 You know shi*t. "Četnik" is a member of "četa" (squadron). After WWII that word got that meaning, but mostly because of communist propaganda.
kinda cool how at 8:35-8:40, vlade's talking about how he opened the door for European players and there's Peja Stojakovic, one of the greatest European players ever. real good editing on Vlade's part
Vlade, well put together documentary! You really opened my eyes to a interesting story about family, love, hate, war and the the rise & fall of a friendship. And after watching this documentary one has to wonder how great Drazen could've been.
will more hate and murder bring back any of the people on either side that were killed and tortured and left homeless, and bring closure to their families? no.
I need to know why the separation started between Croatia and Serbia. Why was Yugoslavia no more? Why did they hate each other? Can anyone tell me in the simplest way?
1991 Yugoslavia was broken into pieces. after the fall of communism in eastern europe each country elected different goverments. Slovenia and Croatia goverments wanted greater autonomy for their countries on the other hand Serbs wanted Yugoslav unity. and then came yugoslav wars which broke the two countries totally apart. basketball was surely affected. hope i cleared things up for you!
Serbs wanted to control the entire yugoslavia when slobodan milosevic came to power in 1987,we Croats wanted our own independent state which we had right on it ,when we delcared our independence the serbs in Croatia started terrorist acts against croatian instituons and ethnic cleaning in parts of Croatia where they were majority,go to wikipedia and read about croatian homeland war it will be much easily to understand all things, especially read about battle of Vukovar....
@TorgeistLLN i am a croatian living in the US, and i will tell you the reason. there has been tension between the two groups for centuries, but the 20th century was the worst. in world war 2, the croatian axis puppet ustashe government butchered serbs as the nazis butchered jews. in between, the communist state held the parts of jugoslavia together, however towards the end serbia did begin to want more power, setting up pro-serbian leaders in other regions and the serbs had more power in govern.
@TorgeistLLN the croats and slovenes did not want this to happen, and wanted their independence. slovenia left first without much conflict, however after croatia attempted to leave the serbian minority living in croatia wanted to set up their own republic on what was considered croatian land. during this time the yugoslavian army also entered and began to try to retake croatia. along the way the yugoslavs leveled towns, massacred elderly and children, raped and tortured.
@TorgeistLLN the croats were not innocent in all this, as there were also some, but very much fewer, cases against serbs. the common theme- every time i mentioned "serb" and "croat", the only people making fights were politicians, not the people. if it wasnt for the politicians, the croats and serbs wouldn't have gotten to the point where they are now. its time to let this petty fighting go. will the genocide of either group ever happen in todays world? no. will attempting it resolve anything?no
the incident with croatia leaving the podium in 1995 has nothing to do with yugoslavia, but with referee's who were terrible. ask any lithuanian for that
Interesting how young kids recognize Divac with guarded concern, they weren't even born when the flag incident happened. I take it Divac is described to every kid in schools as an enemy, much like the "Death in America" campaign in the Middle East.
Great documentary. Credit to Vlade - great Man and Athlete. Really sad about Petrovic, had it not been for that accident, I think today people would've been comparing players to him, not Jordan..
p.s. On the flag story, I think when Croats say that Croatia was also part of Jugoslavia and the flag had a ''right'' to be there they are not entirely honest. Socialist republic of Croatia flag had a ''right'' to be there along with Yugo flag, not nationalist flag of Cro..
C'mon! ...during the ceremony, this was the really Vlade Divac, the Cetnik one... that's enough for me ...he had said: "Sports and politics should not go together." That's a lie, because he showed three fingers, the simbol of Cetniks...
This was a sad documentary. RIP Drazen. As for the people of Zagreb, they endured a bad war 15 years ago, and still to this day, have to endure strong tensions within the region. Vlade has developed into a true humanitarian.
That was a great segment of him walking through Zagreb and showing people's reactions. That must be such a strange feeling, knowing that everyone knows who you are but nobody is willing to greet you or acknowledge you except once you have your back to them.
What does the guy say at 00.45?Thanks!

The Chetniks used terror tactics against the Croats in areas where Serbs and Croats were intermixed, against the Muslim population in Bosnia, Herzegovina and Sandžak, and against the Partisans and their supporters in all areas.
vukizeko 3 weeks ago
@vukizeko The Muslim population of Bosnia, Herzegovina and Sandžak was a primary target of Chetnik terror due to the traditional animosity between Serbs and Muslims, but this action was also undertaken to 'cleanse' these areas of Muslims in order to create a 'Greater Serbia' free of non-Serbs
Several modern Serbian paramilitary organizations, formed in the 1990s after the breakup of Yugoslavia, chose the name "Chetniks", and consider themselves as the continuation of the Chetnik legacy.

yellowman88 3 months ago
From an American's point of view, it was a good documentary. Maybe ESPN did not get everything right. What I know is that the hatred runs deep in that part of the world. I have been through there once in '05. I didn't say anything political when in restaurants. Here in the USA, there is great hatred, too, but there are not any demarcations lines to separate us. We are all together so we had to learned to live together, black/white others. Over there, they want to draw lines everywhere.

If only that Yugoslav team remained together....if only....
grrr8one1 4 months ago 2
@grrr8one1 Very good point. It saddens me to think there are people like the man at :45 but then it's uplifting to think that there are people like the man at 1:00. It's great to look from the outside and say, "Wow... am I like the man at :45, or the man at 1:00" and speaking honestly, I haven't been like the man at 1:00. It really helps me put things into perspective, and that's why these are great documentaries.

..and the Yugoslav "school" was by far the most funtamentally advanced in the world and vastly underated...If they had a chance to keep that team together, I doubt there would've been a "dream-team" at all...as it quicky got proven a few years after, it was only a matter of "awe-struck" euro teams suffered against NBAers...what happened in the first half of '92 final - Drazen singlehandedly outplaying the entire USA team- accelerated the gap closing by 20 years, just with his spirit in 1 half!!!

@kevin1451 Even if he was in the wrong it wouldn't justify you saying 'croatians are rude people'. That is the kind of thing that starts divisions. But don't forget all we are hearing is one side of this story. There may be more to it than the flag incident you just never know.

@jujumatt " Seems like this whole documentary showed how croatians were rude people"<----- thats what the film protrayed for me and prolly a lot of people. go complain to the director. hes the one filming an one sided story.
kevin1451 8 months ago
@jujumatt Remembering all of events from this documentary and much more, having a personal experience of loosing friends under similar circumstances and reading dozens of old an new articles and interviews with people envolved I know it was not just a misunderstanding and there is much more to it then the flag incident. I'm so glad this documentary was made.it brings back a lot of memories, but it it is mostly Vlade's side of the story and it leaves things unsaid.
sivizeko 7 months ago
@sivizeko Thanks for this response. The documentary was clearly told from one perspective and I don't mind that but it did strike me that the reaction from that one incident seemed extreme. I know that during difficult times the flag of a nation becomes to represent much more than what it is but nearly ten years on the streets of Zagreb he was still prompting a reaction. If you have the time or inclination I would be interested to hear a little more of the background surrounding the fall out.

@JMcLovn he says "chetnik" ... it's kind of a pejorative name for serbs in the same way as "ustasa" is for croats.... that's just simple explanation, there is a lot more to that but it would involve a lot of writing
mikkybg1 8 months ago
@JMcLovn This is a complicated question, but I'll give an answer a go. The man called Vlade a "Chetnik", which is for all intents and purposes a term in the former Yugoslavia for "traitor". The Chetniks were a band of Yugoslavian Royalist rebels that formed in response to the German invasion during WW2. Some broke off from the initial goal of fighting the Nazis and instead fought their communist countrymen, the Tito led Communist Partisans. To this day Chetniks are regarded as collaborators.
chewrockan 8 months ago
@JMcLovn he says "chetnik". the chetniks were a royalist group who rebelled against the axis powers in ww2 in yugoslavia, and commited acts of ethnic cleansing on non-serbs. the croatian ustashe were fascist, fought on the axis' side and were as bad as the nazis in treatment of non-desired ethnic groups, and the multiethnic partisans were communist and fought both of the other two as well as the axis powers. today chetnik and ustasha are used to describe more violent serb and croat nationalists
BlackadderLFC 8 months ago
@JMcLovn For Croats it has a meaning of the Serb ultra-nationalist which likes to cut throats of babies of different nationality. Serbs are split-up upon the word, leftist (ex-communists and liberals) consider ćetniks almost in same meaning as Croats do, the rightist conservatives have positive opinion. In reality there were many "četniks" which really commited attrocities, but there were also a very courage and respected people which only fought for Serbian freedom (until WWI) and later...
marcus10 7 months ago
@JMcLovn ...Yugoslavian freedom in WWII (against Nazi Germany). Historical circumstanses made them viewed like criminals, but as I said, in reality there were actually much better people then communist which got on power in the end of WWII (in Yugoslavia of course).

what did that guy call Vlade @ 46?
selffless1 9 months ago
@selffless1 "Cetnik" (pronounced Tsetnik). Originally meaning bandit, it refers to Serb freedom fighters in the 19th century, WWII etc. In its offensive meaning, it's a term of abuse describing someone as an extreme Serb nationalist. The opposite would be a Serb calling a Croat "Ustase" ("Croatian fascist"). Which basically shows what an asshole that guy is...
streetwaves11 9 months ago 8
@streetwaves11 You know shi*t. "Četnik" is a member of "četa" (squadron). After WWII that word got that meaning, but mostly because of communist propaganda.

Serbs wanted to control the entire yugoslavia when slobodan milosevic came to power in 1987,we Croats wanted our own independent state which we had right on it ,when we delcared our independence the serbs in Croatia started terrorist acts against croatian instituons and ethnic cleaning in parts of Croatia where they were majority,go to wikipedia and read about croatian homeland war it will be much easily to understand all things, especially read about battle of Vukovar....
mamutcg 9 months ago 2

You really are stupid. Of course everybody will look if they see a man of over 2 metres walking with a camera crew behind him. Fool!

the incident with croatia leaving the podium in 1995 has nothing to do with yugoslavia, but with referee's who were terrible. ask any lithuanian for that
