  • Was there. It was just an absolutely AMAZING concert, from start to end. Soooooo lucky!

  • Music for the Masses was my intro to DM when I was about 14. Loved this tune and follwed them through their career. Even bought their previous releases too all the way back to SpeaknSpell. As for music today, you have to search hard, but Assemblage 23 is carrying on the tradition nicely!

  • Wow! brilliant performance! Dave just burns with pure and utter charisma! someone banged ten groupies that night??? ^_+)<<<

  • Brilliant....I was still quite young (11) when this took place....but I got to know Depeche Mode through my older Sisters....wow what a show....wish I had been there!

  • what happened to real music like this now a days i wish i born back then

  • LOVE this Concert!!! & the Album from it :D

  • Top. Germany´s second best but least known electric popband.

  • what is the name of the blond man that appears at 1:22 minutes. is him Barry Pepper the actor?? he looks a famous person, and the girls with him?? thank everybody

  • Saw DM a few days before this show in Phoenix, AZ and if it wasn't for a few people talking about the next show at the Rose Bowl I would have missed this! What a historic show and glad I was able to be a part of it! Wire, Thomas Dolby and OMD were support, no?

  • Oh my god, I love Depeche Modeeee, I would have liked to live that time with

    Depeche Mode.

What a shame, I have a fiffteen years old, should have been born before.

I have seen many videos of DM, I have heard many songsI follow from inside me, but my essence is with them, for ever with Dave and DM.

  • My first concert was this show Rose Bowl, 1988. I was 16 years old. I wore that t-shirt until it fell apart!!

  • probably one of the best bands live ever!!!

  • High get I...... :o))

  • I get high ;-)

  • best band ever!!!

  • I had a chance to see DM on this tour at Bradford UK, and I passed it up.

    What a twat I am !!!

  • It Also Makes Me Mad I Wish I was Around At that time! ILOVEEEEDEPECHEEMODEE!!! And Im Only 13 :)

  • I was there

    6th row!

    Best DM show ever!

  • @Scottydont66 so lucky you was !!!!

  • I was there

    6th row!

    Best DM show ever!

  • da notare al minuto 1:08 le facce che fanno quando vedono le migliaia di persone che sono li per sentirli!fantastici!

  • man, this brings back some memories. me and my girlfriend at astroworld in houston, summer 1988. one of the best concerts i've ever seen

  • This was the absolute peak of their career and you can see in Dave Gahans facial expressions that they know it. 80000+ people and I was a mere 15 rows from the stage.

  • @runemason

    60 000

  • @UncleSamFisher Aww ok...I think you are right because they had some areas closed off.

  • @runemason If this was the absolute peak of their career, how come that their woldwide breakthough came with the Album Violator -90 and the songs Personal Jesus, Enjoy the silence? I would say that this was the beginning of their career...

  • @TheErnfrid I saw them many times before this concert and a few times after. While I agree they did and still write great songs, this was byfat the best performance I saw them, and do you think DM could sell out the Rose Bowl after this year?

  • @runemason Yeah, I´m sure that if they hade gone back to the Rose bowl in like -90-91 they could have sold out the Rose Bowl again. But nowdays? Sadly no......

  • @TheErnfrid They could sell out the Rose Bowl still; with a catch, enough advance notice and limiting their West Coast shows, they could do it no problem... 2013 maybe? 25th anniversary....

  • I don´t mean taht they wasn´t famous before -88. I just mean that it was after this they really got the credit they so long deserved.....

  • @runemason I don't think was the peak. The peak was definitely post Violator to post SOFAD and the decline was a result of the absence of Alan Wilder. They could have got better.

  • @runemason Fletcher had a seat on the stage. Beat that.

  • @runemason musically, peaked 18 months later with Violator. But spot on, Essex boy grin, "we're the nuts, aren't we?" Nothing wrong with well placed confidence.

  • I was there...one of the best concerts of my life!

  • Amazing song, DM forever!!

  • lo mejor de lo mejor depeche mode forever

  • it makes me really upset that im born in the wrong time with crappy music..

  • @nicholaszz in way we were born to love them!!!!!!

  • @nicholaszz

Same here. Born in 1994. Even then there was good music. Not old enough to appreciate it.

  • @nicholaszz SAME!

  • @nicholaszz that is the most epic comment ever. i did say i feel so sorry for this generation because the music from the 80's and 90's rocked.

  • @3timeless6: Yes it did, and anyone who says otherwise is a fool. As far as the "peak" of their career, I would say it was Violator, personally.

  • @nicholaszz I totally understand, I was in there in 1988 in the rose bowl, so fantastic,

What have we got now... Pure Moronic Crap.

  • YEAHHHH.. THE BEST.....

  • now....

  • woooooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwww

  • thanks for that clip, i love it very much!

  • a jewel. Thanks
