  • This is one of my favorite memories from childhood. To me, these six circles seemed like great pals.

  • Philip Glass, simply one of the greatest composers who has ever lived.

  • They look like Multi colored Pac-men

  • this was always one of my favourite sesame street clips.

  • one of the weirdest things i've ever seen, almost had a seizure watching this

  • I see this vignette... I think of the CHCH TV 11 logo from Hamilton, Ontario.

  • For real?!? I had no idea the music was by Philip Glass.

  • Pac-man's first job. He apparently was the only member of his team to have great success. The others faded into obscurity. Or maybe they became ghosts!

  • definitely one of my childhood favs, ive never heard of philip glass before but when i heard it , its like eddie van halen shredding on a keyboard, phenomenal. My 2 yr son also loves this too, please post the rest sesame street

  • One of my favorite SS segments ever.

  • I was just waiting for the "ina gadda da vida, baby" to kick in.

  • I had no idea Philip Glass created the music for this! Instantly familiar the moment I played it. Thanks!

  • Absolutely amazing. Please upload the rest! Exposing the kids to colors, geometry, and minimalism!!! :)

  • that just blew my mind..

  • This was always the strangest one of them to me. I saw it at a very early age so it was a bit creepy with the singing. :)

  • @shannonm75 Yeah, that singing scared me, too. The whole segment did.

  • @Villaingirl101 Yeah me too. It just comes off as some song that sounds insane. And the colorful stuff, AH it made me think something was gonna pop out.

  • pacmen! (of various colors)

  • These were some of my favourite segments on Sesame Street when I was a kid watching it in the 70's and 80's. Got me interested in some of Philip Glass' music.

Boy, they'd never have the guts to put something like this on kids' programming these days! Thanks, Sesame Street!

  • Are the rest going to be posted? It's nice to see one of the Circles in such great quality.

  • @Aoanoxi I agree completely. The only other versions of the Circles sketches are in abysmal shape.

  • These segments were oddly enough one of my biggest fears as a child... I literally had nightmares about them. I was terrified of the music. It still sends a shiver through me now when it first comes on, and I'm almost 28.

  • That's kinda funny but I can see how they might be frightening to a child.

  • I rediscovered this piece on YouTube and realized why Philip Glass sounded so natural to me when I "discovered" him many years later in college (Koyaanisqatsi).

Many thanks for posting & for being Sesame Street!

    Forty years, Cheers!
