Harper claims to be a conservative yet in the latest debate he claimed to have consulted with minorities and special cases. Not against that but that's not exactly conservative. Talk about desperately looking for votes
im happy to be trilingual in English,French and Italian because... well... someone people just can't get more than one language down which is a real shame O_O
I agree that French isn't really used by any Canadians beside those in Quebec, but I also don't think it's fair to attack someone because their pronunciation is wrong. Education? Yes that's important, but Stephane Dion is well educated. He just sucks at English. Attack his policies, not the way he talks.
No man, Quebec is not a bilingual province. We learned english because we wanted to. But the only language in Quebec is suppose to be french. I know a lot of people that cannot talk a word in english.
Im so fucking tired of hearing all kind of excuse about why he speak English badly and why most Quebec citizens don't wanna speak English.I speak both french and English since age 8,there's simply no reason that people can't learn it...English is not only Canada's primary language but it's also the world most spoken language. You need it if you travel and in a lot of jobs as well.
Actually, the chinese language (mandarin) is the most spoken language in the world.
Mais bon ce n'est pas ça le point. J'avoue que les Québecois sortent plein d'excuses mais bon c'est parce qu'ils n'ont pas besoin de l'apprendre. Everywhere they go, it's all in god damn french. So why would they try to learn a new language when they don't really need it ? They need a reason and they don't have one
Im talking about the usefulness of the language. You say they don't have a good reason?Well, surely some of them travel out of Quebec sometime right?Let's just say you want to go on vacation in Cuba or Mexico or any other common place people go,how will you communicate or get information?Employers also look for bilingual individuals depending on the type of jobs as well.Being bilingual in politics is also a VERY good reason to speak english. They should make it a criteria.
Yeah I know but the thing is that to live in Québec, it's not really necessary. EVERYTHING is in french (which kinda gets annoying to people like me, from New-Brunswick)
That's why most people won't bother to learn english (not like in N-B where English is necessary if you live especially in the southern part of the province)
You're a moron Radnick. Their education should be the most important criteria, NOT what language they speak. French outside of Quebec is useless and completely redundant.
Of course education should be a criteria but what i said is that being bilingual helps.Plus why do you call me a moron when you say something like "French outside of Quebec is useless and completely redundant".Do you think that's something intelligent to say?Are you aware that there's some french communities outside of Quebec in other provinces?
I'm sorry, i'm a Quebec citizen and most of the Quebec citizens I know speak English. I learnt how to speak English when I was 10 and I never stopped. I don't know why are you telling that. Quebec is a billingual province. Did you forget that?
I don't believe that most people in Quebec speak english,i don't know where you got that.Your part of the minority.Plus,if Quebec is a billingual province, why do they sometime reject and deny english bands or other activities in english during festivities?
You may refer it to St-Jean-Baptiste. They invited an english band to this show and a huge problem happened. Some of the Quebec citizens are very curios and interested about the other cultures and what the others can make. But, some others really don't want to ear about English. It's not a general situation. You said it, it happens sometimes. Finally, I checked it on the Internet and French is the only official language.
poor englos who have to endure that!haha!!damn harpers better in french than dion is in english!!quelle honte de voir ca merde ca veut etre prime minister pis ye pas foutu de dire deux mots ye comme pauline marois pis y font dur!!nos leaders suck arse!!oh yes they did!!
Infantile? Woah! Not really! At this point, this isn't even an accent, he just CANNOT speak english properly. I am french-speaking first just like him and I still find his english real laughable. This results in a total absence of credibility, competent or not.
not at all. Why is it okay to make fun of stephane dion because he has a french accent? Like Gilles Deuceppe says, the other party leaders regularily make grammer mistake in french but no one picks in them. Its disgraceful that you are insulting his intelligence, and credibility because he speaks english with a french accent. It just makes you look like a hick. We are all a part of this country. Dion is a good Canadian, and deserves our uttermost respect.P.Sdo you have a PHD? Nope dont think so.
Also can't speak english properly? Funny because I understand every single word coming out of his mouth just fine.. so Maybe you need to go take some english lessons or something.. Furthermore to whoever put this tape up, its funny, but its quite clear he's saying I fought.. sounds NOTHING like fart. I can't hear it no matter how hard I try.
Dion de merde.

French outside Quebec is not useless, if you tried to learn it, you would see how beautiful it is. Molière, Victor Hugo, and so many more!
I love english too, I think it is important to speak both languages, but please, don't tell so horrible things about such a pretty language!
