  • which one should i get this or the 302 my motherboard does not have usb3 blug thing but the 302 has more room and better cable management

  • Comment removed

  • @dli7319 Built a system in one two weeks ago, both fans were three speed. :?

  • nice intro no cuts in the side flaps ? huh

  • The top fan IS a tricool, it's my exact case.

  • I like the look of the 300 better, the functionality of the 302 is much better tho...

  • It's a shame he didn't take off the front bezel to show the dual 120mm housings. Also, since this video, the cable for the front I/O is now an all black ribbon type, which is easier to route and looks better. The quality of the switches, plastics and panel fit has improved too. Antec are one company that refuse to rest on their laurels. BTW, the top 140mm IS a Tri-cool :)

  • this is a simply amazing case its a pretty snug fit for my gtx 580 but its still a great case with a lot of air cooling and the fans included are pretty good quality.

  • @RamoneTalarico nm it wont, but the good news is that usually the next version of cards will be smaller in size and have equal or more power. What im saying is, wait long enough and there will eventually be a card equal to or more powerful that will fit inside your case.

  • will the largest of video cards fit in this case? like a 6990?

  • dude your great .. thx for helping ppl

  • can a sapphire radeon HD 6850 fit in this case ?

  • @xander2290

Yeah, I have two HD 6870's in mine.

Just get a full ATX board.

  • why the hell has the 100 got a panted inside and the 300 doesn't I thought they updated it

  • Will you please unbox the Antec 1200 v3 gaming case

  • would it fit 2 6950 in cf?

  • Can this case fit a gtx590?

  • @magnificbeef That might me pushing it. A gtx560ti will only fit with 1-2 inches spare.

  • @magnificbeef If you are putting in a GTX 580, I'd suggest investing in a full tower

  • Will this fit a XFX 6950?

  • @prattlesnake42 yes it will

  • Is that a wedding ring?

  • so will a 8800gt fit if i dont have a hard drive infront of that

  • Solid, good looking case. Best budget case out there in my opinion.

  • @ralfijs4

The Antec 300 will not "only" look better but also utilize better. You can fit any graphics card in it and erm??... idk 6 hardrives xD

  • I like the 300 as it's nice and simple not all these fucking wierd bumps and shit to add modern aestetic feeling or what ever, it looks good

  • Is this good for 55$ without shipping and tax? Bang for the buck?

  • Comment removed

  • @Panda4Cash great bang for buck. i got it for 50 pound (60 dollars roughly) has alot of stuff for that money.

  • @JamieBell1994SCO would the antec 300 case fit a GTX 570?

  • can a H61M-E23 fit in this Antec?

  • Got my Antec 300 Illusion from Newegg, came with 4 fans, all Antec fans...

  • How has this been on cooling?

  • Linus is a smart guy, but I disagree with his opinion in which to mount the side case fan as an exhaust. The rule of thumb (front and side intake, rear and top exhaust) holds true for this case as well. Rationale: by mounting the fan as an intake, it brings in cool air directly by the graphics card and the power supply (which is mounted fan side up in this chassis). The fans on both the GPU and PSU are intake, so you're simply helping them by providing nearby cool air for them to grab.

  • You forgot to show the front panel :D

  • I love when I search for a product and Linus made a video about it.

  • the case is garbage... zero cable management... the NZXT Gamma, M59 and Source are all MUCH MUCH MUCH better cases for less or the same money.

  • @Seanmmvi With a case this size and at this price point you won't be building any crazy sli system inside it so the small amount of cable management behind the drives is enough. Also this case has a much tidier neater look without lots of unnecessary fan spaces or a big dent in the front.

If someone is building a bigger system they will spend the extra money for a larger and better case such as the CM 690II or the new Corsair Carbide.

  • haha, thats what im using right now. its a decent case but for my next build im about to do, im getting the haf 932

  • Very nice case

  • this case also fits a GTX260, and a HD6970 :) I have one, and it's fit all of my video cards to date, although i've never had a 6990, or a 590, so I couldn't really comment on those, i've even done water cooling in it with a single 120mm radiator for my CPU. :)

  • I love the plain look of this case

  • Your voice is really easy to listen to and I can surely hear that you are very interested in what you do. Thanks for reviewing this case, I think I'm gonna buy one really soon :)

  • you can take the front panel off and clean the reusable filter and install the two optional fans.

  • Can this case fix a micro atx board? (9.6 x 9.6) please answers :-)

  • I've always wondered why Linus never unboxed this case. I love this case. It's my case, so I am biased. However, it's awesome either way. I love the simple aesthetic yet great airflow. It fits my Radeon 5850 perfectly..

P.S. I love how Linus pushes on the front grill to pop it open. lol. This case was made well before that feature was added. You have to remove the side panel and then depress 3 internal notches in order to remove the entire front panel.

  • they changed a few things. the one I have (bought 2008) doesn't have a backplate cut-out for CPU cooler. it's a solid case, but a but noisy as it has lots of openings and is very "tinny" with no sound isolation. also the Tri-Cool fans are a bit noisy even on low. a solid buy for its price though my 140mm is a TriCool though, surprised if the new ones aren't?

  • The antec 300 is a classic. you can't beat the antec 300.

  • damn why didnt i buy this, i went cheap on the case and the psu and now i sit here with a overheating pc with shitty airflow

  • The title basicly says Antec Three Hundred Three Hundred Computer Case

  • I have one of these. I love it.

  • the cooler master 690 II advanced is much sexy..... sorry AgentHydra.......

  • My Antec 300 has speed control on the big top fan. So maybe the switch was just hidden, but it should be a 3-speed as well. This is probably the best bang for the buck case. Very simple, stylish, ruggid, and has great air flow.

  • the top 140mm fan is actually tri-cool, you just didnt notice the switch that was taped to the other cables.

  • My antec 300 didnt come with a CPU backplate cutout or the SSD mount,

  • @Ptro001 linus clearly stated "when it first released" so urs is likely when it was first released and one on vid is a revision to apeal more ppl...

  • @Ptro001

He did say the SSD Mount was retrofitted, so I assume the cutout for the backplate was also retro fitted

  • How is the cooling and cable management in this case guys?

  • @TheMaristBoy The airflow is really good! I have mounted two 120mm fans (red LED) in the front and it cools really really good. Though the cable managment isn't the best, you will have to try hard to make it look nice, but with some effort it will go your way.

All in all a really nice case, but with 4 fans in and a high end processor cooler it makes a hell lot of noice :)

  • @TheMaristBoy

Cable management in this case sucks. They give you a small compartment behind the HDD bay to stuff your cables in and that's it.

  • @lasermac83 well dude, this case is like 50-60 bucks... You get what you pay for. This case is great and you can pull of a somewhat neat build. Cut out some holes like a real man!

  • @illkillyoubitch Not everyone has the tools and know how to cut out holes, you know. You can get cases from NZXT and Cooler Master with have better cable management for the same price. Antec 300 WAS a great case, but sad to say, these days you can get much better cases for the same price or even cheaper.

  • @TheMaristBoy

Cable management in this case sucks. They give you a small compartment behind the HDD bay to stuff your cables in and that's it. The only way to route all your cables under the motherboard tray is to drill/cut holes in it.

  • Got this case off of NCIX.

Thanks for the reasonable pricing guys =)

In Singapore, the case is sold at about CAD$130 (tax included), so buyers for the casing get fleeced where I am now =s

  • linus i am BEGGING you to help me: I just got a 6970 lightning for my birthday i also have a amd phenom 955 @ 3.8ghz but for some reason in most of my games the gpu is chilling at 40% usage and the cpu is at 50 - 60% usage. For example in crysis it lags at 20 - 40 fps but the gpu and cpu at at no more than 70% usage. HOW DO I MAKE IT WORK AT 100% USAGE SO I GET THE FRAME RATE I SHOULD BE GETTING! Thanks

  • @2564651jcr maybe the drivers are the problem or game compatibility

  • @TheMaristBoy Yeh I thought it could be I put it down to most games being optimized for nvidia

  • My Antec 300 is the old version, without the SSD mount and the hole for MB backplate. =( But it's a amazing case anyway.

  • I love my 300. It's definitely starting to show its age, but it's still an excellent case for builders on a tight budget.

  • my 8800 gts died Dx

  • I've got one of these in my house :)

  • If I ever buy a gaming PC again, it will be mounted on this case.

  • They Look nice but is not all Black case.....

  • u can't go wrong whit this case

  • Linus, you should really do an unboxing of the Coolermaster HAF912. Priced pretty much like this one, but waay better with Cable management being the biggest difference.

  • tool less =no

    Cable management = no

    Liquid Cooling Space = no

    Sleeved cables = no

    SSD adapters = no

Why would enyone want this ?

  • @Pallepop909 It's cheap and has good airflow and its simple and sleek. It has cable management for not-used cables, and if you're creative, you can still make it very neat. I have a Antec 300, it's a fantastic budget case. Tool-less as far as I'm concerned is mostly a gimmick anyway. I still prefer screws.

  • @Pallepop909 bugdet plus all you said are pretty much extras...dont need them to play games maxed until now

  • @Pallepop909 Because it provides excellent cooling, is compact for those with space issues, and it's low cost. In fact, with some rebates, NCIX had it for only $30 earlier this year.

    1) Removing the side panels and installing hard drives is tool less (thumb screws). You only need a screwdriver for installing optical drives. Do you need to do that often?!

    2) Budget cases =/= liquid cooling. Next point.

    3) Sleeved cables are aesthetic only. Not needed.

    4) Most SSDs come with adapters anyway.

  • I got an NZXT BETA, its hard to come by (in the UK) but it offers lots more than this for nearly £20 less. Glad I went for it over this.

  • You should definitely review the Zalman Z9 plus. Same price and size than the antec 300. It would be an interesting comparison.

  • I have this chassi, an older version. What baffles me is how they updated it with a cut out in the back so you can change CPU coolers but not take the time to make extra cut outs for easy cable management (which is the biggest downside of this case).

  • What happens to all this unboxed stuff afterwards?

  • i love this

  • my mate got one and it looks so much better than in this video

  • @08abreur Most likely the 300 Illusion.

  • MY gpus actually run cooler when I have my side panel fan as an intake rather than an exhaust

  • YOU FINALLY DID THIS!! WHOO!

  • The 300 was my first case (popped my cherry, as it were) and it was a fantastic case. Then I bought a CM HAF 922 and I hated it. Very much a downgrade in build quality. Now I have a Lian Li and will never look back.

  • Mine came with two Tri-Cool

  • Why would it already have a random I/O sheild in it lol!?

  • I dunno why I watched this video when I own that case lol. It's a good case and very stylish.

  • Corsair Obsisian 800 FTW but has poor air cooling its more for watercooling solution

  • NZXT Phantom FTW!

  • I have a CM storm case.Very nice case. Also, linus, why didn't my intel i5 760 come with thermal paste? My cpu is running rather hot at 45 degrees celcious with nothing but skype open.Rather annoying :( .

  • you forgot to open the front panel, there is a VERY easy to mount a fan there :)

  • What do you mean "Antec 300 Thee Hundred" ?

    That's like saying "Antec 300 300"

  • What kind of people go to LAN parties?

  • @aliazharsalim People who aren't super-nerds, but still "extreme gamers"

  • Finally a product i have unboxed before Linus!

  • In finland everyone has this or fractal design r3 .__.

  • BUT u get a ton of thumbscrews with the case and that cut-out on the motherboardtray is useless. atleast for my H50

  • the top 140mm is a Tricool fan.

    Atleast in my Antec 300

  • Haf X is like the the swiss army knife of PC cases, it does almost everything and it does it well.

  • They should make antec 300 II or something. With cable management and black interior.

  • @integratable thats the best idea ever!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanx for not showing how the front fans mount or face plates come out, or the filters... who would want that in the review.

  • @zver711 yeah. in a review. but this is an unboxing. reviews consist of hard data, building systems in cases and reporting on noise and temperatures and comparing directly to other cases. unboxings just show you the product. if you wanna know how to use it, download the manual

  • Antec: At Least We Aren't Rosewill.

  • Unbox an NZXT Tempest EVO, Please?

  • I think it is called Semi-gloss?

  • 300 three hundred, redundancy?

  • I have that case with two front fans and while I love how much of a simple functional design of a case, looking at the current case, the inside is rather disappointing.

  • pretty or too simple case..

  • canucks won!!!!1:0!!!

  • @ida529200 with 19 seconds left, BEAUTY goal!!

  • Love this case.

  • This case is released last year. Should this be considered as a Retro unboxing series?

  • Do a 300 vs. HAF 912 comparison! They seem to be the most popular "budget" gaming cases.

  • I bought this case for a rig I made. One of my favorites, pretty well thought out for the price.

  • Thanks linus! I was just thinking about using this for my first build so thanks a lot.

  • This case does look better than the 900 in my opinion. With better cable management. I got the 900 myself but it is very small for higher end graphics cards, especially when you have 2 of them.

  • Darth Vader Cameraman much?

  • @RawrrItzMattiee Or sensitive microphone much?

My own Mic picks up my breathing easily when set a few feet away.

  • I find it funny that the antec 100 looks like a better case than this.

  • 4:02 work agains it :)

  • Since he probably won't ever use this case again and he's passionate about packaging, he should drop this case in the box off the NCIX building then open it to see how well the packaging holds up.

  • the antec 300 i had had 2 tri cools in it.. 140 +120 lol

  • I got this case for $10 from NCIX once. Price matching & rebates for the win! and NCIX for the win!

  • You didnt take the front off

  • I used 2 of these for render servers, but mine came with a tri-speed fan on the top as well.

  • I keep my case open.

  • You should get a Leatherman to open your boxes

  • Your vids always fuck-up in my sub box :(

  • omg! im using this case! i was like wth that box looks familiar!!

  • Amazing case. Simple, stylish, cool. Bought one for my home office rig, loved it so much, bought another or my home rig.

  • I have two of these cases and there great for cooling and space inside! :D

  • My first case :)

  • i have the antec 902 moving to the thermaltake chaser mk 1

  • i am wondering what the best graphic card/s would be for this generation for around 600$ only gtx 500 series and hd 6900 series, ie 2 560ti sli 2 6920 cf or gtx 580 or hd 6970, hope that isnt to confusing, Thanks!

  • haha i requested this on your Facebook page :P

  • I have this case, it's pretty big :)

  • i can't believe people still buy this old fossil. the HAF 912 and NZXT Gamma/M59 make this thing completely obsolete.

  • @AgentHydra Nice sleek look, good airflow, easily modded.

  • @AgentHydra Eh, the 912 is about twice as expensive at least where I live. The 300 is a cheap but high quality for a cheaper gaming system. It also doesn't look ULTRA EXTREME SUPER EXTREME SHOOTER GAMER FIRST CLASS SERGEANT SHOOTER PERSON.

  • @AgentHydra Nothing will make the absolutely sexy styling of the Antec 300 obsolete.

  • @sacrenough

"Makes comment complaining that I have to find the original comment and gets thumbs up"

  • @sacrenough just need to make a way to get the PSU to get air from undeneath the case and paint it black for total obsoleteness

  • wow released a whole bunch of videos :O

  • i want this case

  • I like the design of it but the HAF 912 just has a lot more features for the money.

  • @TheExprima I agree, but HAF is just hidious

  • @jakovct Quite true.

  • Cable management is a pain with this case unless you are inventive. I ended up cutting two holes so the cables can all go just behind the back panel and you cant see them. I love this case though, for the price its amazing.

  • I have seen the new Gigabyte AM3+ boards on their website, are you guys unboxing them soon?

  • are you ever going to do a review on anything?

  • I've got used to the intro now man! it's not so bad

  • thx linus for unboxing such an simple case :)

  • the top fan is a tri cool trust me i have the case

  • Linus, help me out, please: it's safe to overclock an E4300 Core 2 Duo having the standart intel cooler, or it will blow up ? ;[

    Thanks!

  • @MaxTAOM i used to run an e5400 @ 3.8ghz stock volts w/ the intel cooler. just watch your temps

  • @MaxTAOM i'm not Linus lol but it is perfectly safe just watch ur temps it won't blow up

  • @Lickmytech oh, ok them! thank you very much, bro! ;D

  • Real linus fans watch his vids when there is only 86 views

  • ANTEC cases are ok but I love Cooler Master cases. Thats why I have a HAF-X.

  • @kevinsdb1 HAF-X ftw ;)
